00:00How much have you guys learned about colonialism, and would you like to learn more about it?
00:08About colonialism, I know a lot what was happening in Germany at the time,
00:12and the German point of view of it, but not nearly as much as I would like to know
00:16about the actual countries that were colonized.
00:18For the longest time, I had no idea that Germany was even one of the colonizing countries.
00:23I didn't know most of those countries that were colonized, I didn't know they were colonies.
00:27I'm only aware that they colonized Namibia.
00:29We're just talking about general things like Germany did colonize,
00:34and they were one of the main colonizers at a certain point in history.
00:38We have learned about World War I, World War II, more like German history.
00:41We learn about the politics behind why Germany might have done it,
00:45and not about how inhuman the whole thing actually was.
00:48And I think that's an important thing that needs to be focused on more.
