00:00So what we've created here is what we're hoping to be known as a safe space in South Shields.
00:05I know it's a salon but we kind of wanted it to be something different.
00:09My background is mental health nursing.
00:12I do aesthetics but I didn't want to just leave the mental health nursing behind.
00:16The House of Com has come from toying with a couple of ideas around the name we wanted House of
00:23and then when we actually came into this building if you have a look on that wall behind you
00:28it actually has, hashtag House of Com and it just felt that the way things were happening
00:32everything just fitted in together.
00:34So coming into this salon what you can expect is honesty, nothing but honesty.
00:41I'm a registered mental health nurse, we've got a nurse prescriber on the site.
00:45All the guys that work in here from the hairdressers to the beauty therapists they've all got the same ethos.
00:51It's around boosting self-confidence, it's a safe space again people might want to come in
00:57and might have additional needs, doesn't want to have a quiet time.
01:00Everything can be totally tealad so the same as you would go to an appointment at the NHS
01:04if you've broken your arm you would get a tealad care plan to what you need
01:09and that's exactly what we want to push in here.
