00:13So they signify three amazing accomplishments in your career.
00:17What's it like to kind of look back and see that this award really does follow you throughout your career
00:22and it signifies a lot of years of hard work?
00:24Yeah, it does.
00:25And just the chance to keep writing and recording music and touring and having it connect with people.
00:32That's all I've ever wanted to do.
00:33I mean, we're gearing up for a new tour now at the end of the month.
00:38High and Alive.
00:39And I'm so jonesing to hit the road.
00:42How are you preparing for that?
00:44We spent quite a long time in rehearsal.
00:47I have a lot of new players in my band.
00:48Whole brand new production.
00:50And yeah, I hate waiting around.
00:54You're ready to go.
00:54Yeah, I wish I could play tonight, yeah.
00:56I did, I got up with Brothers Osborne, I couldn't help myself.
00:59I know, what was it like to have to watch your own concert and not be able to get up there?
01:03I had to, and John Osborne's one of my favorite guitar players.
01:06He's so good, so it was great to get to shred with him.
01:09Is it surreal to kind of sit there and watch other people play your hits back to you?
01:13Yeah, it is, but it's really beautiful too when people do that.
01:17And even when Chris was doing Blue this afternoon at rehearsals and he's singing it closer to the version and I'm like, dude, do your thing.
01:25Make it Stapleton.
01:26And he's like, is it okay?
01:27And I'm like, yes, yes, of course.
01:29And you need permission.
01:30Make it yours, man.
01:31How often are you, do you play your own music ever in the home or like how often do you hear your own songs back?
01:36Well, when I'm doing a tour, I go through all these songs to figure out what should we do and can we pull out something we haven't done in a long time, those sorts of things.
01:43So are you going to whip out some old songs on this upcoming tour?
01:46Yeah, there's some newbies, there's some ones we haven't done in a long time, some album cuts, tons of classics.
01:53But it's a very high energy show.
01:55Nice.
01:55Yeah.
01:56So hopefully you're getting a lot of rest now.
01:58My favorite kind.
01:59So Triple Crown winner, I mean, where do you go from here?
