00:00In closing, I want to thank our witnesses once again for their testimony today.
00:05I now yield to the ranking member Stansbury for closing remarks for three minutes.
00:11All right, well, it's been an interesting journey today, as it often is in this committee.
00:17You know, I want to start out by saying yes, thank you to our witnesses for sitting here in this toxic suit for the last three hours.
00:25And it's ironic because the jurisdiction of this committee is government efficiency,
00:31and we just spent three hours talking about fencing, USA fencing, trans athletes, girls.
00:42We had my friends across the aisle mansplaining to us about how they're protecting women.
00:48I mean, yeah, this was a really good use of government time and money.
00:53Meanwhile, behind closed doors, as we've pointed out many times during this hearing,
00:58my Republican colleagues across the aisle are trying to cut a deal to cut Medicaid.
01:03Now, I don't want to diminish anybody's life-altering experiences,
01:07and I am genuinely sorry to hear that both of our young lady witnesses who are here today had horrible experiences.
01:14It is bad.
01:15I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience.
01:17And I want to acknowledge that, and I appreciate you coming and appearing before the committee today.
01:24But I don't need a bunch of GOP Republican colleagues mansplaining at me for three hours
01:31to tell me that they're trying to take away my rights, they're trying to take away your medical care,
01:36they're trying to take away environmental protections,
01:39they're trying to take away food assistance for the seniors and children of this country.
01:45Like, this hearing has nothing to do with substance for the United States.
01:51It has nothing to do with defending women's rights,
01:54has nothing to do with defending the rights of girls.
01:57It is all about using the issue of transgender lives to distract from the nefarious plots
02:07that are actually happening in this building while we're sitting here
02:10to actually take away your civil rights, your human rights,
02:14and your access to vital life-saving care and programs that are vital to millions of Americans.
02:20That is actually what is going on here.
02:22But it is actually dangerous to the lives of trans individuals
02:27because trans individuals are being targeted, they're facing violence,
02:30and the only thing that is waste, fraud, and abuse in the Doge subcommittee today
02:35is the waste of the last three hours of our lives that we will never reclaim,
02:40the fraud that is this committee,
02:43and the abuse of Americans that has spewed out of the mouths
02:47on the other side of the aisle for the last three hours.
02:50And so I want to say to everyone out there who is listening,
02:54whether you're a transgender American, an LGBTQ plus individual,
02:58or any American out there, we are fighting for you,
03:01we love you, we support you, and we will stand against hate.
03:05And with that, I yield.
