00:00We were at Arlington National Cemetery at the time and then we just came over here for a little something and we looked at our phones it said the Pope's it was announced and the bell started tolling as they are now and it was just a very moving moment.
00:28Well first of all he's the first USA Pope and that's a great blessing for the United States of America and I'm looking forward to him keeping our faith honest and glorious.
00:42A little balanced out I think you know a little bit between the contemporary and traditional so maybe a little bit more unified in a way.
00:50You know again we are we know a lot of traditional Catholics and then regular contemporary Catholics and we hope this maybe make it a little bit more balanced.
01:00It's incredible just to think about I mean I think nobody really expected it to be an American and so it's just really really beautiful.
01:06That this country which hasn't been around for that long historically speaking has already brought about a probe in just such a sort of time and so just yeah just so much joy.
01:18Yeah I think obviously he has to respond to certain things that happened in the last few decades the abuse scandals finances and all these things but I also think it's just very beautiful.
01:32To have him who has this background from Latin America that he really is capable of bringing the Catholic faith bringing the joy of the gospel to the entire world which is ultimately the task of the probe most of all is to really announce Jesus around the world.
01:51I think it's very exciting news also the fact that to hear that he's an American I didn't I don't think many of us expected an American Pope but this is what the Cardinals have decided and I think it actually hearing about Cardinal Prevost now Leo the 14th a priest of Chicago the Diocese of Chicago and now
02:20also Bishop in Peru you have a mix of both worlds Latin America America as a people that possibly will be able to relate very well not only in English but in Spanish and now to the whole world in the Catholic Church.
02:50Yes surprise I like to use that word because I've always said we have a God of surprises and if there's one thing that I've seen today is a surprise and in many ways because first of all the surprise was that it's so short I mean 24 hours of voting you know just a few times and we have a Pope so that was a great surprise I think.
03:16The second thing is when they said he was an American well we were thinking never an American that just won't happen you know United States is a power center and so a little hesitant you know so a surprise and now just then I heard that he's taken the name of Leo Leo the 14th
03:43and you know that too I think you know he goes is going back you know several hopes who had the name of Leo Leo the 13th was a big one for social justice and so by picking the name Leo and I'm only second guessing now but you know probably that had something to do with his picking of that name you know I'm sure there are other things that would have gone into that.
04:10But so but so but the God of surprises wow.
04:16And my guess is that probably hope Leo now is going to be stressing unity I think and to recognize that you know even an American who can be elected Pope now.
04:31But can also recognize that we are all one and so I think that can be a major factor now.
04:38major factor now.
04:45OK.
04:47Yeah.
04:48Let's go.
