00:00So now let's go over the MVP odds.
00:02And at this point, I mean, is it anybody except Aaron Judge at this point?
00:06I mean, the guy's still hitting 400.
00:07I mean, here we are, and we're going to be halfway through May next week.
00:11The numbers are incredible, but it's just not bettable.
00:13He's such a big favorite.
00:14Alex Bregman is definitely playing himself into a mega contract after the season
00:19with the year that he's having for the Red Sox.
00:20He's been, dare I say, better in any first month that he ever had with Houston.
00:24And then Cal Raleigh, it's interesting that a catcher would be on the list here,
00:27although I don't see him winning it.
00:29I don't even think it's a two-player race at this point, Matt.
00:31It's like, I mean, what else is there to say?
00:33I mean, if Aaron Judge hits 280 the rest of the year, he's going to win the MVP.
00:37Yeah, it's Judge in the field right now.
00:39There's no question.
00:40I mean, there's not a lot of value in betting on Judge.
00:42It might feel like you're wasting your money on anyone else.
00:45Obviously, it would be in an event of injury where you would look at it and say,
00:49well, buying into someone else paid off.
00:53I don't think you want to invest much.
00:54But what's funny about that, though, is in almost any other year,
00:58if you took Bregman off the list, or you took Judge off the list,
01:01Bregman would be kind of the obvious frontrunner to me.
01:04Just he's having an MVP-type season.
01:07Sometimes when you look at a player and you look at his numbers,
01:10it just jumps out MVP.
01:11And you kind of mentioned with Raleigh where it's a catcher.
01:14He has a low batting average.
01:15We know that doesn't mean as much anymore as it used to to MVP voters.
01:19The homers are there.
01:20Everything else is there.
01:20But it doesn't necessarily scream MVP.
01:23Now, the homers he's hitting do the way he's playing.
01:26The fact he's just a phenomenal catcher, you know, calling games behind the plate with his glove.
01:32But does that really factor into MVP voting much?
01:34I doubt it.
01:35So it's certainly Judge.
01:37I think then you have Bregman.
01:38You got to watch Bobby Wood Jr., too.
01:40Another guy, though, who a lot of his value,
01:42when you look at sort of a composite number like war, comes from his defense.
01:46And sometimes MVP voters, they don't value that as much or at least not enough to,
01:51you know, maybe get you over the hump over someone who has the really impressive triple slash line,
01:55which Witt does, too.
01:56But, yeah, it's Judge in the field.
01:59There's no getting around it.
02:00And we probably wasted too much time just talking about it.
02:03But that's what we do on here.
