00:00There is giddy anticipation and palpable excitement in the air for the day after the mid-term elections

00:06when the benteng bigas meron na grains hit the Kadiwan ng Pangulo-produced outlets in the megacity and elsewhere.

00:14Our Meri Felco studio has the particulars on the distribution of the cheapest rise in the land next week in this report.

00:21The Gonzales couple was among the many shoppers in the Kadiwan ng Pangulo Center in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

00:30According to them, the products being sold are not only fresh but also quite affordable.

00:45Aileen is also a regular buyer in the Kadiwan ng Pangulo.

00:51The price of the National Food Authority or any frame rice at Kadiwan ng Pangulo sites will drop further to only 20 pesos per kilo starting May 13.

01:05This will be available at 32 Kadiwan ng Pangulo sites across to zone, particularly in Metro Manila, Central Zone, Calabar Zone, and Mimaropa.

01:14Simultaneously, the rollout of 20 pesos rice will begin in the Visayas.

01:18The Department of Agriculture or DA will adopt Cibu's distribution system for rice,

01:23which uses a digital ID system with QR codes to monitor the purchases of each beneficiaries.

01:28Itong ginagamit na app niya ito, may QR code ito.

01:31It's like an ID system na may QR code and na ma-monitor nito kung magkan or ilan na yung nabibili ng bawat beneficiary nitong ating,

01:41binibigay nga yung like in our case yung ating P20 sa Sibu, ganun din siya.

01:45So nagkaroon na po ng pag-tingin, nagpunta na po doon ng representative ng DA Central Office or yung aming ICTS

01:53para tingnan po kung paano po ba ito ginagawa at sa loob po ng dalawang linggo ay magbibigay na po sila ng recommendation kay Secretary kung paano po ito ma-implement ng DA.

02:05Under this initiative, eligible beneficiaries will be allowed to purchase up to 30 kilos of rice per month from Kadiwan ng Pangulo sites.

02:13Members of vulnerable sectors, including beneficiaries of the Bantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and solo parents are the priority sectors of the program.

02:25This in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to make agricultural products more accessible and affordable to ensure food security.
