00:00The Department of Agriculture, or DA, has started implementing the 20 Peso Rice Program at Kaliwa ng Pangulo Sites, this time in the Eastern Police District, the fourth location established by the agency within Philippine National Police or PNP District Stations. PTV's Jay Impineda has the details.

00:20Lenny is a regular buyer of rice priced at P50 Pesos per kilo at the marketa, but with the impending availability of the P20 Pesos rice soon, she is sure that she will switch to eat to save money.

00:33Napakalaking tulong ng 20. Bakit? Kasi ganito o, di dalawang kilo na yun. Kain namin ng isang araw, magiging dalawang araw na, diba? Lalo pa ako single parent, dalawa pa yung college.

00:47Lenny is just one of many residents of Mandaluyong City, waiting for the P20 Pesos per kilo rice to be made available to the public. Some of them are already excited to buy and line up for this more affordable option.

01:00A Kaliwa Store at the Mandaluyong Public Market is one of the outlets here in Metro Manila, which will sell P20 Pesos per kilo rice. For now though, the Commission on Election or COMELEC has ordered to temporarily halt the sale of this cheaper rice in line with the upcoming Hatol ng Bayan 2025.

01:16Para po din, and of course, yung sinabi nga po ni Chairman Garcia na sana kung pwedeng maiwasan muna na magkaroon po tayo ng bentahan at malagyan po ng kulay politika, ano po, bago mag-eleksyon.

01:30So sabi na pinakausapan naman po tayo na kung pwedeng huwag munang magbenta at after elections na lang po. E naisip naman din po namin sa DA na sampung araw na lang po naman ito.

01:41In the meantime, Kaliwa stores will still sell the Department of Agriculture's previously promoted rice at P29 Pesos per kilo. Aside from its Rice for All program priced at P35 Pesos per kilo.

01:52According to vendors, they have been receiving 40 sacks since the P29 Peso rice program begun. This usually lasts just one to two weeks and sells out quickly.

02:01Which is the reason why they expect the P20 Peso rice to be even more popular among buyers.

02:07Meanwhile, Nakadiwa ng Pangulo was also launched today at the Eastern Police District or APD.

02:13Which is already the fourth location established by the DA in PNP District Station.

02:17The initiative is said to reflect stronger collaboration between agencies.

02:21So ito po ay isang parang pagpapatunay na tayo po ay talaga nagtutulungan para po mas madating natin at magkaroon po tayo ng mas madaming access pa at availability ng venues kung saan natin pwedeng malagay po yung kadiwan ng Pangulo.

02:38Dahil nga po, hindi lang murang bilihin dito, mas direkta pong nakakatulong tayo sa ating mga magsasaka at maingisda.

02:45This initiative is seen to be beneficial to police officers who frequently do the shopping.

02:50Kita nyo naman, mga five minutes palang ubos na ng APD yung...

02:54But seriously, we are in full support of this program.

02:58Dahil hindi na kailangan magsiksikan ng police natin dun sa mga wet market, diba?

03:04The PNP also affirms continuous support for the initiative of DA to help consumers and workers in the provinces such as farmers and fishermen.
