00:16Taiwan's judicial system to eliminate opposition parties. His remarks drew immediate criticism from
00:22the German Institute Taipei and the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, both of which
00:28called the comparison inappropriate. In a later statement, Zhu emphasized that based on history,
00:34having a pluralistic and open political environment is key to democracy.
