00:00Our guy, Rick Kamla, is finally back on Coast to Coast.
00:04Can you imagine, from Sports Ethos, what's going on with that?
00:09Like, what's that about?
00:10Before we get into these games, it's great to see you look fantastic, brother.
00:13It's great to have you on C2C again, no doubt.
00:17Scotty, my man, it's been too long.
00:19We got connections figured out.
00:21We got it all going here, man, and I'm excited to be on with you.
00:23Sports Ethos is a burgeoning fantasy sports site, man.
00:28We do baseball, we do football, we do basketball.
00:31I'm kind of helping to launch us into WNBA.
00:35I'm actually, when I get off the air here, I'm going to write my top 50 fantasy rankings for the WNBA.
00:42Obviously, with the season starting next week, I've already drafted like four teams, plan on winning all of them.
00:49But we have the best content in the business.
00:52We're not, no, I'm serious.
00:53We're not the big, you think I'm kidding, I'm not.
00:55But we're not the biggest fantasy outlet, but to me, we have the best content in the business.
01:00Y'all come over to sportethos.com and check us out.
01:03I'm just glad that you're going to win all four leagues, and I never doubted you, of course.
01:08I'm your boy.
01:09Like, I support you, whatever you're doing.
01:10If you're going to win all four, I'm all for it.
01:12Where do I cash in, is what I want to know.
01:14All right, what do you think of what the Knicks are doing?
01:18And are they in trouble tonight after they pulled off the miracle the other night?
01:23But, you know, all I've heard is how on a Celtics shot.
01:27But what I saw, you know, I was cussing, jumping up and down.
01:30I've been suffering with the Knicks for 30 years.
01:33That was the best game I've seen of a Knicks game as a fan of theirs since I've lived in New York City.
01:39I mean, literally my entire career here, I've never seen a game that I liked more to watch.
01:44That comeback was amazing.
01:47Scotty Carver, hi, you'd be proud of me.
01:50I played, when the Knicks were down 20, I threw 10 bucks on the money line.
01:54Turned 10 into 130.
01:56It's one of those, ah, I wish I would have put more on it, right?
01:59But I would have jinxed it at that point, right?
02:01Threw a little 10 spot on it, and they made the comeback.
02:03I was like, is this really going to happen?
02:05It did.
02:06So, look, man, are they in trouble tonight is how you started this conversation.
02:10I don't think so.
02:11Like, my whole deal is, you know, Boston's laying 10 and a half, 10, 11, whatever the number is right now.
02:18The pattern historically is great home team, loses game one.
02:23Game two, it's a 20-point beatdown every single time.
02:26I just, I can't do that to the Knicks.
02:29They're too good.
02:30They're too gritty.
02:31I don't think they're going to be sort of in that, oh, well, we got one.
02:35We did what we came to do.
02:37I don't think they think that way.
02:38I don't think they're wired that way, Scotty.
02:40So, I don't think they're just going to let go of the rope and go, all right, we already got our one.
02:45We'll just go back to New York at 1-1.
02:48That's just not how these guys are wired.
02:49So, I'm live betting this game.
02:51I am not.
02:52I also don't feel great about taking the 10 with New York because Boston may bludgeon them tonight.
02:58I want to check the tenor of New York.
03:00How greedy are they?
03:01How badass are they?
03:03How motivated are they tonight knowing that they've already got home court advantage back?
03:07So, that's how I'm approaching this game.
03:08I definitely don't think the Knicks are in trouble.
03:11I think they are a live dog once again here tonight.
03:14Denver pulled it off in game one at Oak City.
03:17They're at the Paycom again tonight.
03:18Gordon's been spectacular in a couple of game-winning shots against the Clippers.
03:22And then the other night, the three ball on the wing.
03:25They're tough.
03:26Nobody can stop Joker.
03:28Everyone around him, including Brown, is a better player because he's on the floor.
03:33He had a 42-22 burger with extra sauce on it.
03:37What do you think of the Nuggets here giving the Thunder problems?
03:42We could copy and paste a lot of what I said about New York and Boston to this.
03:47Historically, OKC, well, first of all, they're the best team in the league.
03:51And I don't think it's debatable.
03:54It's debatable, will they beat Boston if they play in the finals?
03:57That's debatable.
03:58To me, it's not debatable who the best team in the league is this year.
04:00It's OKC.
04:02So, they lose game one to Denver.
04:04Why?
04:04Because Denver is a fantastic team.
04:09And they've got championship DNA.
04:11And they have been head up with OKC for, like, the last five years.
04:14This year in the regular, it was 2-2.
04:16It was, like, 8-8 over the previous 16 meetings.
04:19So, Denver's like, OKC, fine, bring them on.
04:22Other teams are like, oh, my God, OKC, all their defenders.
04:25And Denver's like, who cares, so what?
04:28So, that's really, really powerful here.
04:30And it's keeping me from going back to that historical pattern, the badass team loses game
04:36one, game two at home, is a thrashing.
04:38It's a boat racing.
04:40But I can't do Denver that way.
04:42If they were just a team, if this was Houston or Memphis, maybe even Minnesota, because I
04:50don't trust their psyche in Minnesota, like, I'd be playing OKC, like, three units going
04:56into the game.
04:57I wouldn't even play the sort of live betting cop-out card on you.
05:00I'd be totally bullish going in.
05:02But because it's Denver, with the championship DNA, and again, I am going to live this game.
05:07I'm going to check the tenor and pulse of the Nugs.
05:10How serious are they about this game, too, OK?
05:14And then you diagnose the moment of truth, and you make your live betting decision.
05:17But I can't just blindly and butt naked go, yeah, I'll lay 11 with Oklahoma City after
05:25what I saw the other night, because I saw Denver take a major punch from OKC and punch
05:30right back and win the game.
05:32So what happens to the dubs over the next three games, let's say, without Curry?
05:38I already talked about what healed.
05:39He's got to give me 18-plus automatic every night.
05:42But we've seen him have a zero spot on top of having a, you know, night where he hit nine
05:47threes, then he had zero, then he had eight, you know, he had 24 and hit five more.
05:53He's hot and cold.
05:54They got to get him, Pazimski, everybody's got to get involved without Curry, because
05:57he's gone for a week.
06:00Yeah, but, Scotty, I don't think that's going to work.
06:02You know Buddy Heald, man.
06:04He's a yo-yo, OK?
06:05And, you know, I'm a big guy.
06:07I fade dudes coming off of monster games.
06:09And it's a very, very high percentage of correctness.
06:15Buddy Heald defied that going from game seven to game one.
06:18I don't believe he's going to do that in game two.
06:20I think Buddy Heald's going to be dreadful.
06:22I think he's, and I don't dislike Buddy Heald.
06:24It's just the numbers and patterns and law of averages.
06:27I just don't think he's going to do it again.
06:29And Golden State is in a really, really tough situation here without Curry.
06:33They can't not have Curry and beat Minnesota, in my opinion.
06:37I know Minnesota look like dog doo-doo in game one.
06:40They're going to fix that, OK?
06:42They're too good of a team.
06:44They were in the West Finals last year.
06:46They're not some little team, upstart team.
06:48No, they're a legitimate championship contender.
06:51I think they're going to take care of Golden State.
06:53It might go seven.
06:55But without Curry, Golden State's not beating Minnesota.
06:58Yeah, I don't think so either.
07:00And I've been on the Pacers the entire playoffs.
07:04I still like them from last year.
07:06I think they're 10 deep.
07:08I think they've got two rotations.
07:10I love their coach.
07:11I like their bigs.
07:12I like their guards.
07:13I like the way they play.
07:14I think they play, you know, 45 hard at least a night where they go after it.
07:21They got two in Cleveland.
07:23They're not going to have this up at the field house, are they?
07:27Probably not.
07:28But I'm really, really dubious of Cleveland minus one and a half in game three.
07:33And, Scotty, what I've found out over the years is that when there's a WTH point spread, when you go with the woe, you win.
07:43The woe is Cleveland is laying points with Garland, Hunter, and Mobley.
07:49Very questionable going into game three.
07:51How?
07:52Why are they favored?
07:53It doesn't make any sense to me.
07:55So, weirdly and ironically, that's why I like Cleveland minus the one and a half in game three.
08:01It's just like a personal sort of betting angle I've developed.
08:04And it's very hard to quantify and tell humans about it publicly.
08:07But that's where my head is at.
08:09I'm a weird dude.
08:11Indiana should win this game.
08:13There's no doubt.
08:14But, as you guys know, what happened the previous two games does not automatically guarantee what will happen in the next game.
08:20And that's kind of where I'm at.
08:21God, isn't it great?
08:23Mafia, get the tequila out and my pills.
08:25It's great having Rick Campbell back on Coast to Coast.
08:30Rick, it's good to see you.
08:31Check out sportsethos.com, I think.
08:35I hope I got that right.
08:36And, obviously, you know, it's just a blast.
08:39Check them out at Rick Campbell Sports as well.
08:41And, actually, good to see you, Rick.
08:43All the best.
08:44Stay home.
08:44Take care.
