00:00What is your connection to Judy Blume? Did you read any books before joining Forever?
00:04After the audition, I definitely bought the book. I read it in one sitting and I was obsessed with
00:12it afterwards. So the book made me want to get the role even more so. But I'm not too
00:19hip to the Judy Blume world. I kind of only read Forever, but I wouldn't put it past me to
00:24read all of her books because I do like authors and reading all of their bodies of work like
00:29Octavia Butler or Tennessee Coates. So I see that in my near future.
00:34And I did want to say like obviously there's this built-in fan base when it comes to this
00:38book, but how would you say the show develops it so that fans of the book are excited, but
00:42also newcomers like me. Like I've read Judy Blume books. I haven't read this one. So like
00:47coming into it, I don't feel like I have to know the lore to like come in and watch.
00:51The book Forever really was a tale that kind of tested the times and kind of stayed true. It was
00:58like love for teenagers looks kind of like this. And so it is cool seeing how we're now
01:06in a new age and this is a reimagination of love on teenagers, but just in a completely
01:13different era. And so it's nice to see it like revamped a little bit. So you still, we're
01:19still honest to the book and honest to, you know, the points that it was trying to make
01:23there, but it's also like, you know, people from nowadays, if you graduated high school
01:29or were a senior in 2018, 2019, this might be very nostalgic for you. And 2018, 2019 was
01:35a very nostalgic time that I don't think we're, we're very hip to yet that it's nostalgic,
01:39but right before the pandemic and everything, just the emotions were like at an all time high.
01:44So it was really fun to play with that.
