00:00I've never heard of it, I've never heard of it, I've never heard of it, I've never heard of it, I've never heard of it.
00:05Operation Sindur signals a clear shift in India's strategy.
00:08Military responses to terrorism are no longer off the table, they are part of the plan.
00:13I have 5 takeaways from what just happened, let's go over them one by one.
00:16I'm Manish Abhikari and you're watching First Things Fast.
00:24Number 1, this is not a one time stunt.
00:27This isn't like the surgical strikes of 2016 or even Balakot in 2019.
00:31This is bigger, it's loud, it's deliberate.
00:34India's trying to make a point that from now on, if there's a terror attack, there will be a military response.
00:39No more strategic restraint, this is doctrine now, not drama.
00:44Number 2, terrorism is equal to war.
00:46Earlier there was always this argument, oh but terrorism is sub-conventional, not actual war, so you know, let's not escalate.
00:53Pakistan used that line to basically keep India frozen.
00:56But now, that line's gone.
00:58India is saying, if a terror group from your soil attacks us, we'll treat that as you attacking us.
01:02And if that leads to escalation, well, you know, you started it.
01:06Number 3, no more conclusive proof game, sir.
01:08Let's be honest, even when India gave Pakistan dossiers, joint investigation invites, even, you know, access to Pratankot, nothing really happened.
01:16So now the approach is simple, if anti-India terror groups exist in Pakistan and keep attacking India, and Pakistan does nothing, that's enough of a reason to respond.
01:24No more waiting for proof that's acceptable to everyone.
01:27Number 4, global opinions don't shape Delhi's decisions anymore.
01:32You'll still hear people in Washington, London, you know, Geneva, saying both sides must show restraint.
01:38But in Delhi, that's just background noise now.
01:40India's not waiting for a permission slip from the West.
01:42If you support us, great, if not, that's not going to stop us either.
01:46And number 5, this could be the end of the India-Pakistan relationship as we've known it.
01:51No one's talking about composite dialogue, no one's planning Aman Ki Aasha Concerts, not even backchannel talks.
01:57That chapter may be over.
01:58Operation Sindur might just be the start of a completely different kind of equation, and Pakistan now knows it.
02:05I'm Manish Abhikari.
02:06First things fast.
