00:00It's amazing to be in UK for the opening. So we opened on the 30th of May in Britain, but UK will have a special opening today. So it feels really lovely to do that. It's where we filmed.
00:13And are you pleased with how the film has turned out?
00:16Yes, I am. I mean, it took four years, four years of my life. Very intensive, really, really hard working for us.
00:25And it went through a journey, I would say, just like the actual story itself. I'm so happy with it. Particularly the performances, you know, they're beautiful.
00:37And do you think it could become a big hit? It's had good reviews so far, isn't it?
00:42Oh, I hope so. That would be fun, wouldn't it? I mean, it would be wonderful for Raina and Kamath, who I just love.
00:48You know, I feel so, I have such responsibility towards them and their story because it's what happened to them.
00:56And why did you choose to do the film?
01:00I chose to do the film because I'm a theatre director and it was during the pandemic.
01:06And I thought, now's my chance, you know, theatre might be dead forever.
01:10And I had never had the time, really, to do a film. It sounds crazy, but it was quite a hungry beast.
01:16And, erm, I thought of this book. I was like, what should I do?
01:21And I thought of this book that it read when it first came out.
01:24And I remembered that, how visual it was. And visceral, I felt very visceral about it.
01:31You know, the emotion of what was going on, plus it being in this, erm, really cinematic, majestic landscape.
01:41Just thinking about the most beautiful thing.
01:42And, um, now, what's the most beautiful light?
01:44Yeah, that's beautiful.
01:45But I thought that, that's what the most beautiful light was when you hear about it.
01:46But, um, it was beautiful.
