00:00Rapid KL's demand-responsive transit service has drawn mixed reviews from public transport users,
00:08with younger ones praising its accessibility and cheap fares, and others hoping for friendlier access.
00:14For 30-year-old Ashraf Abdul Ghani, the on-demand van service has made his commute from Ampang to his university in Subang Jaya quicker,
00:22cutting 15 minutes off his usual 90-minute journey by car.
00:27Yeah, very cheap. I use a RM50 a month pass, so it's like RM50.
00:33It's very comfortable because the van are quite new and everything is there, even the charging port is there as well.
00:38And I think the drive is pretty much safe.
00:43David Bowe, who uses the on-demand van service for his work commute,
00:48said the DRT has been invaluable in reaching areas like Eutropolis Glenmary in Sha'alam that are not served by buses or trains.
00:56Taking grab in there, just give you an idea, at about 7.30 or 8am, sometimes, if you are lucky, you will get grab as cheap as RM11.

01:06So this is actually a very great addition, and in terms of the load on the financial side, it will be way, way lighter.
01:13Meanwhile, 46-year-old Nornimala Jelani said she has yet to try Rapid KL's on-demand van services,
01:19as she was put off by the app's complicated user interface.
01:23Lee, a 43-year-old medical insurance worker, said she often sees vans leaving without picking up new riders,
01:29as commuters are not allowed to board without a booking, an issue she says needs fixing.
