00:00Last season of Stranger Things, and it's been a great run, 10 years, and, you know, Lucas will always be a part of me, and even in my style, how I think, and I will be able to enjoy this Met Gala with two of my cast members from the show, so I'm excited to see them and what they're going to wear as well.
00:23Hello, hello, it's Caleb McLaughlin. Follow me while I get ready for Met Gala. Let's do this.
00:30What up, man? How you looking, dude?
00:34This is my barber, Vince. He gets me right, you know, when we have to do the big events.
00:41All right, so what are we doing today, man?
00:42Let's go bald, man.
00:44Go bald, take it all down.
00:45You see where, like, the fade is at already?
00:47Mm-hmm.
00:48I guess just kind of, not bald, but, like, fade, like, really fade, like, we're going to go clean today.
00:53Gotcha.
00:53Yeah.
00:53I actually had braids for about two, three years prior to this cut.
00:58But I think it's just where I'm at in my life and how I want to express myself and my growth and my evolution in my life right now.
01:07But what's cool with the Met is that the theme is, you know, the theme.
01:12But then what the Met does is, like, you glorify it and make it your own.
01:16Dandy is expression.
01:18Dandy is, like, formal respect.
01:20I feel like it represents a history, like, art, creativity.
01:25Dandy, to me, right now, is, like, a new chapter.
01:27Like, the Met is an opportunity that a lot of people don't get to be a part of.
01:32It's my very first one, so I can't, like, take that for granted and, you know, I'm just grateful to be here.
01:37The clip I'm using now is called the Gamma.
01:40You know, it helps me get his fade right.
01:43He wants kind of, like, that clean, smooth look.
01:45So, kind of make it work with the fit that he's got going on tonight.
01:50So.
01:50So, we are wearing deal.
01:52I have this orange collar and this, like, dark gray suit.
01:57But then I have, like, a couple of cool pins, a black hat, this awesome cane with this silver handle.
02:04These turquoise gloves and a watch.
02:08It's pretty dandy, not gonna lie.
02:10I'm excited to see Alton Mason.
02:13Yeah, he always steps out.
02:15That's my brother right there.
02:17Who else?
02:17Oh, ASAP Rocky.
02:20Coleman, Domingo, some of my cast members that I've worked with in the previous years.
02:26My characters that I've played have definitely influenced the way I dress in real life.
02:32I feel like I've taken a part of most of the characters that I've played and, you know, implement it into my everyday life.
02:39Especially when I'm working and filming.
02:46And the stash are keeping it as is, right?
02:49Yes.
02:49The stash is not to be touched.
02:55Today, I wanted to approach this look differently than I've ever, than I've ever had to.
03:01Because it is the Met, I guess it's, like, the beginning stage of just, like, the new, like, not the new, but, like, the version of people that they haven't seen.
03:10The next level to that, I guess, avant, avant-garde.
03:14The avant-garde cameo smells like a nice Dior fragrance.
03:18Sauvage.
03:19You know what would have been funny if you were just, like, it's like, I was like, like, you just brought it in.
03:27It just comes in.
03:28But I wanted to have this, like, I guess, luscious feeling or look where just, you know, my skin is glowing and it's represented the way it needs to be.
03:44And Caleb takes very good care of his skin.
03:46I mean, this is literally woke up like this.
03:48So, we just want to kind of not make it as matte.
03:50We want to make it just super glowy, dewy, gorgeous, and, as you said, luscious.
03:55So, it'll be exciting.
03:57Black, don't crack.
03:59I think drinking water is great.
04:02Eating fruit is good.
04:03Sleeping helps, too.
04:06And changing your sheets.
04:07Gosh.
04:08Guys, change your sheets every two days.
04:11Oh, your towels and your washcloths.
04:13I change that every day.
04:15That's my advice.
04:20Hey, guys.
04:21This is Katie, my stylist.
04:23She's helping me get my fit together for the Met.
04:26We did a lot of collaboration and phone calls, voice notes, a lot of deep dive and research of what we wanted to do and how we wanted to display and represent me on the carpet.
04:36Super excited to just help you feel like the best version of yourself today.
04:40It's all about celebrating your identity and expressing who you are.
04:45So, we're here to do that through some tailoring and some fun little.
04:49Yeah, yeah, exactly.
04:50Because of the theme and the history behind Dandyism and Tailored Fits, seeing the Met Gala and what it is, I just wanted to pay homage to the art, but then also add, like, our own kind of presence and personality to the idea.
05:08The last season of Stranger Things, and it's been a great run, 10 years, and, you know, Lucas will always be a part of me.
05:15And even in my style, how I think and how I am represented in the world, you know, and I will cherish his personality and who he is and carry him with me for the rest of my life.
05:26And I will be able to enjoy this Met Gala with two of my cast members from the show, so I'm excited to see them and what they're going to wear as well.
05:33If I had to name the character I'm stepping out into at the Met, it would be Prince Dior.
05:41That's what's speaking to me.
05:42That's what it's giving.
05:44It feels very Dandy.
05:45If I had to pick a movie that fits with the theme of the Met tonight, it would be Harlem Nights with Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor.
05:53I think this day and age, what we're missing that this theme of the Met Gala is giving is respect, formality, sense of care.
06:05A Taylor style that is unlimited.
06:09Like, when you think of Taylor, you're like, ah, it's just like suit, but it's a little bit more than that.
06:14It tells more of a story, what I feel is going to be represented here at the Met.
06:19After Met Mill, man, probably some wings, some fries, definitely some French fries.
06:24Give me a milkshake.
06:25Give me a milkshake.
06:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:26Thanks, Vanity Fair, for hanging with me.
06:29See you guys later.
06:31Until next time.
06:31Ah.
06:44I'm sorry.
06:45I'm sorry.
06:45I'm sorry.
06:45I'm sorry.
06:46I'm sorry.
06:47I'm sorry.
06:47I'm sorry.
06:48I'm sorry.
06:48I'm sorry.
06:48I'm sorry.
