00:00So about a month ago, the Denver Nuggets make this crazy move,
00:04firing their head coach, Mike Malone,
00:07and the Clippers take them right to the till all the way to seven games.
00:11And wouldn't you know, Denver pulls off the win.
00:13They were not favored to win this series.
00:15So I suppose credit to the decision that the Nuggets made,
00:19but it's kind of funny.
00:20What if they would have lost this game?
00:21And we would have said it was a horrible decision.
00:23Either way, Nuggets are moving on and Clippers are going home.
00:26Exactly. It's funny.
00:27It's the same way it's a make-or-miss league.
00:28The one game or a couple of possessions here or there
00:31completely dictated and determined how good that decision looked
00:35two part ways with Michael Malone.
00:36The Nuggets are moving on.
00:38Nicoli Ogres didn't even necessarily have the most dominant game
00:40we were expecting from him, but everybody else stepped up.
00:43Russell Westbrook really imposed his will on both ends of the floor
00:47and they ran away. It wasn't even close.
00:49And you can talk about what the Clippers didn't do,
00:50what you didn't get from James Harden,
00:51what you needed from Kawhi Leonard,
00:53and that ultimately was their downfall.
00:55But it sets up a really exciting matchup
00:57between who I expect to be first and second in the MVP race.
01:01And I think it's going to be Shea Gillis-Alexander that wins it.
01:03But regardless, there's going to be a lot of storylines
01:05about MVP with this second-round series.
01:07Yeah, and we're going to get to that series here real quick.
01:10Before we get to that,
01:12let's put a bow on the Clippers season here.
01:14Still a lot to like and I think a lot to look forward to.
01:17But, you know, naturally their veterans and their stars are aging at this point.
01:22And Kawhi Leonard, who had a really good series,
01:24unfortunately for James Harden, you know, Gilbert, he did not
01:27and has just really had a tough time in some of these Game 7s.
01:31I mean, Harden's already played for a bunch of different teams here at this point.
01:34I suppose we never know what's going to come from him in the offseason.
01:38And he's a surefire Hall of Famer, too.
01:40It's just he's had some bad games when they've met the most.
01:44Yeah, surefire Hall of Famer and one of the best to ever do it.
01:47An MVP, a guy who averaged over 36 points per game in a season,
01:50which makes it even more inexcusable that he only takes eight shots in a Game 7,
01:54only scores seven points in a Game 7.
01:57I saw a stat that he's 26 games in his playoff career,
02:00he has more turnovers than made field goals,
02:02which seems impossible to do.
02:04But his playoff woes are well documented
02:06and are something that he just has to live with at this point in his career.
02:09He's 35 years old and when you talk about what's next,
02:11he's 35, Kawhi is 34.
02:13There's not a lot that could be next.
02:15They have to bring in somebody younger that can bring in
02:17and be the next generation guy for them.
02:20And it's easier said than done.
02:21Ibiza Zubats is exciting,
02:23but Norman Powell is another guy who's 31 years old.
02:25So with an older core,
02:26their inability to get out of the first round,
02:29especially in a year where a lot of things shook in their favor,
02:31it's a little concerning for the Clippers in their future.
02:33So with an older three,
02:42you know,
02:43it's easier for themselves.
02:45So with a.,
02:45it's easier for themselves to sing.
