00:00I don't feel like it's my jersey it's a team's jersey but I feel like it's it's an honor like
00:13the team it's for me especially the team wants me to wear it so that's that's nice
00:18welcome to stage two of La Vuelta Femenina 2025 Lidltrek took control of the race in yesterday's
00:32team time trial and today we're set to enjoy the first bunch sprint Mariana Voss is the woman to
00:38beat but that doesn't mean the other teams won't be giving it their all definitely as a team we
00:42were content for the victory today we have many cards to play and we come with a really strong
00:47team for both the GC and also stages so I think we are really a key team to watch today our strategy
00:56you have to wait and see but yeah we want to win today we want to play for the win I know it's
01:02going to be fast it's quite technical with the corners and yeah it'll be really exciting one
01:0699 kilometers on the menu today between Molins de Rey and San Boi de Llobregat there is only one
01:12minor climb at the start that could help a breakaway to go but after that it's nice and flat
01:17there's even a downhill run into the finish line with bonus seconds available at the intermediate
01:22sprint as well we could have a change of leader later today but when the race went live there
01:28was no breakaway to speak of Elena Ciccini had just been caught after around 15 kilometers solo
01:34so the peloton was all together with the race leader Ellen van Dijk just looking to keep out of
01:40trouble there had been a bit of rainfall so it was important to stay focused up at the front
01:45Anastasia Colesava going to ground with Vittoria Guazzini who'd already crashed in yesterday's TTT
01:56luckily both riders were quickly underway again just after that incident on the same descent EF
02:02education Oatly decided to test things out Kristen Faulkner the American and Olympic champion attacked with
02:09her teammate Cedrin Caboel and three other riders including Ashley Moorman Passio a dangerous group
02:15indeed so it was no surprise to see little Trek shutting it down straight away Lizzie Dignan dragging
02:21the bunch across well the rain really started to hammer down a few minutes later as they approach the
02:34intermediate sprint there were six four and two bonus seconds available for the first three riders over
02:40the line looks to me as if Mariana Voss fancies this a little bit double-edged shortage as well
02:50you want to limit the amount of bonus seconds potentially to be gained by any GC rival to
02:55Pauline Ferran Prevo she's not going to make an effort well just after that sprint a rider from
03:00lotto ladies went clear Leia Lynn Teuttenberg who is part of a well-known German cycling family
03:06her brother Tim Thorn just turned pro with little Trek her aunt in a Yoko is a DS for little Trek at
03:12this Vuelta Feminina and her father and uncle also race professionally ultimately though her effort
03:17didn't last long she was caught again with 34.5 kilometers remaining the sprint seems getting
03:24themselves organized heading into the final part of this stage but the peloton was disrupted by a
03:29couple of crashes on the run-in Anna van der Breyken was involved in this one on a roundabout
03:34the purple shirt towards the top of the picture number 11 but the SD works leader apparently emerged
03:40unscathed a few minutes later Olivia Barril of Movistar went down with a few other riders but again no
03:47major damage done well speaking of Movistar they were really driving things on as they continued to
03:53descend towards the finish Liv Alula-Jeka were also looking lively and then there was even an attack
03:59from the reigning Tour de France winner in person well Casio Nuevi-Odoma quickly brought back with a
04:04lot of the GC favorites up towards the front including the defending champion Demi Follering well things are
04:10finally settling down somewhat but one of the chief victims of all of these moves was Ellen van Dijk she
04:16found herself in a chase group some 30 seconds down and we would indeed have a new race leader up at
04:22the front Visma Lisa bike leading out the sprint for Mariana Vos and Mariana Vos elbowing her way into
04:29prime position is going to lead through the final bend Mariana Vos with 150 meters remaining riders down
04:38all over the place and it is a little bit of a slick surface but well we'll focus on what's happening up
04:43front it's disappointment for some but it's delight for others most particularly Mariana Vos slam dunk she
04:49takes the victory Mariana Vos is making her way through to the final bend she'll step out of that
04:57jersey today she had an enjoyable day in red what an effort from Visma Lisa bike to set up Vos for her
05:11first victory of 2025 the Dutch squad hitting back after they were held up during fight checks
05:17yesterday before the team time trial and lost valuable seconds Vos climbing win at number 256 of
05:23her remarkable career after all the hard work during all the season now you got the victory how does it
05:30feel about yeah really good of course especially when all the team puts all the effort in and then
05:38after what happened yesterday we wanted to take that energy into today and yeah we just all committed
05:45to it and yeah I'm very happy I could finish it up Vos taking the stage comfortably ahead of
05:51Letizia Paternoster who takes a very nice consolation prize in the shape of the red jersey Letizia Borghese
05:58Anna Henderson and Monica Trinca-Cononel round out the top five featuring three Italians Paternoster
06:05began the day just three seconds behind Van Teich and thanks to her bonuses for coming second on
06:10the stage she now leads from Femke Gerritzer who took four seconds behind Vos at the intermediate
06:15sprints Vos is obviously the leader of the points classification thanks to her maximum haul today
06:21she is on 75 with Paternoster and Henderson second and third on 30 apiece and finally Anna Santesteban is
06:29on top in the mountains classification after she took 10 points early in the day there are no climbs
06:35on tomorrow's third stage from Barbastro to Huesca so there'll be a good opportunity for Vos to secure
06:41a sprint double join us for that on Tuesday and thanks for watching
