00:00I don't feel like it's my jersey it's a team's jersey but I feel like it's it's an honor like
00:16the team is for me especially the team wants me to wear it so that's that's nice
00:21welcome to stage two of La Vuelta Femenina 2025 Lidltrek took control of the race in yesterday's
00:35team time trial and today we're set to enjoy the first bunch sprints Mariana Voss is the woman to
00:41beat but that doesn't mean the other teams won't be giving it their all definitely as a team we were
00:46content for the victory today we have many cards to play and we come with a really strong team for
00:51both the GC and also stages so I think we are really a key team to watch today
00:56our strategy you have to wait and see but yeah we want to win today we want to play for the win
01:04I know it's going to be fast it's quite technical with the corners and yeah it'll be really exciting
01:08one 99 kilometers on the menu today between Molint de Rey and San Boi de Jobregat there is only one
01:15minor climb at the start that could help a breakaway to go but after that it's nice and flat there's
01:21even a downhill run into the finish line with bonus seconds available at the intermediate sprint as
01:26well we could have a change of leader later today but when the race went live there was no breakaway
01:32to speak of Elena Ciccini had just been caught after around 15 kilometers solo so the peloton was all
01:39together with the race leader Ellen van Dijk just looking to keep out of trouble there had been a bit
01:44of rainfall so it was important to stay focused up at the front
01:51Anastasia Colesava going to ground with Vittoria Guazzini who'd already crashed in yesterday's TTT
01:59luckily both riders were quickly underway again just after that incident on the same descent EF education
02:05Oatley decided to test things out Kristen Faulkner the American and Olympic champion attacked with her
02:12team-mate Cedrin Caboil and three other riders including Ashley Maulman Passio a dangerous group
02:18indeed so it was no surprise to see little Trek shutting it down straight away Lizzie Dignan dragging
02:24the bunch across
02:31well the rain really started to hammer down a few minutes later as they approach the
02:37intermediate sprint there were six four and two bonus seconds available for the first
02:42three riders over the line
02:47looks to me as if Mariana Vos fancies this a little bit
02:52double-edged shortage as well you want to limit the amount of bonus seconds potentially to be gained by
02:57any GC rival to Pauline Ferran Prevo she's not going to make an effort
03:01well just after that sprint a rider from Lotto Ladies went clear
03:05Lea Lynn Teuttenberg who is part of a well-known German cycling family
03:09her brother Tim Thorn just turned pro with Little Trek
03:12her aunt Ina Yoko is a DS for Little Trek at this Vuelta Feminina
03:16and her father and uncle also raced professionally
03:19ultimately though her effort didn't last long
03:21she was caught again with 34.5 kilometers remaining
03:26the sprint seems getting themselves organized heading into the final part of this stage
03:31but the peloton was disrupted by a couple of crashes on the run-in
03:35Anna van der Breyken was involved in this one on a roundabout
03:38the purple shirt towards the top of the picture number 11
03:41but the SD works leader apparently emerged unscathed
03:45a few minutes later Olivia Barril of Movistar went down with a few other riders
03:49but again no major damage done
03:52well speaking of Movistar they were really driving things on
03:55as they continued to descend towards the finish
03:57Liv Alulajeka were also looking lively
04:00and then there was even an attack from the reigning Tour-de-France winner in person
04:04well Casio Nuevia Doma quickly brought back
04:07with a lot of the GC favorites up towards the front
04:10including the defending champion Demi Follering
04:12well things are finally settling down somewhat
04:15but one of the chief victims of all of these moves was Ellen van Dijk
04:18she found herself in a chase group some 30 seconds down
04:21and we would indeed have a new race leader
04:24up at the front Visma Lisa Bike leading out the sprint for Marianna Vos
04:28and Marianna Vos elbowing her way into prime position
04:32is going to lead through the final bend
04:34Marianna Vos with 150m remaining riders down all over the place
04:41and it is a little bit of a slick surface but well
04:44we'll focus on what's happening up front
04:46it's disappointment for some but it's delight for others
04:49most particularly Marianna Vos slam dunk
04:52she takes the victory
04:55Marla van Dijk is making her way through to the final bend
04:58she'll step out of that jersey today
05:01she had an enjoyable day in red
05:11what an effort from Visma Lisa Bike to set up Vos
05:14for her first victory of 2025
05:16the Dutch squad hitting back after they were held up
05:19during bike checks yesterday before the team time trial
05:22and lost valuable seconds
05:24Vos climbing win at number 256 of her remarkable career
05:28after all the hard work during all the season
05:32now you got the victory
05:33how does it feel about it?
05:35yeah really good of course
05:37especially when all the team puts all the effort in
05:41and then after what happened yesterday
05:43we wanted to take that energy into today
05:45and yeah we just all committed to it
05:49and yeah I'm very happy I could finish it up
05:51Vos taking the stage comfortably ahead of Letizia Paternoster
05:55who takes a very nice consolation prize in the shape of the red jersey
06:00Letizia Borghese, Anna Henderson and Monica Trinca Connell
06:04round out the top five featuring three Italians
06:07Paternoster began the day just three seconds behind Van Dijk
06:11and thanks to her bonuses for coming second on the stage
06:14she now leads from Femke Gerritzer
06:16who took four seconds behind Vos at the intermediate sprints
06:19Vos is obviously the leader of the points classification
06:22thanks to her maximum haul today
06:24she is on 75 with Paternoster and Henderson
06:27second and third on 30 apiece
06:30and finally Anna Santesteban is on top
06:33in the mountains classification
06:34after she took ten points early in the day
06:37there are no climbs on tomorrow's third stage
06:40from Barbastro to Huesca
06:41so there'll be a good opportunity for Vos to secure a sprint double
06:45join us for that on Tuesday and thanks for watching
