00:23Anwar says there is a likelihood that the US will reduce the 24% reciprocal tariff imposed on Malaysia.
00:31However, he reiterated that the process is still in the early stages without any agreement finalised by the two parties.
00:39He also said that all ongoing discussions are subject to a non-disclosure agreement in line with international practices
00:45when the issues are of strategic interest and are sensitive.
00:49Other than that, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, or MITI, also announced that it will be the sole issuer
00:56of Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin, or NPCO, for exports to the United States from tomorrow, May 6, 2025.
01:06Now, in a statement, the Ministry said the government views any attempt to circumvent tariff through wrong or false declaration,
01:13whether related to the value or origin of goods, as a series of fans.
01:17This is carried out to address the issue of possible transshipments from certain countries to the US market,
