00:00Reactions from voters across Peter Dutton's home seat of Dixon have been mixed.
00:07Some have said the writing was on the wall for the Liberal leader well before the campaign even kicked off.
00:13Others have said it's always sad to see a long-term leader leave.
00:17Now this victory for Labor's Ailey France is an incredible one.
00:22She's campaigned three times, a first-time victor of course.
00:26Peter Dutton held the seat for more than two decades since his election in 2001,
00:31but this campaign was always going to be a tough one for him, coming in with just a 1.7% margin.
00:37Ms France has now seen that campaign through.
00:40She's seen a swing of 8% towards the Labor Party.
00:44Ms France has credited her boots-on-the-ground approach to campaigning for her success.
00:49She says that door-knocking during work hours allowed her to chat with plenty of work-from-home employees.
00:56And those employees were nervous about Peter Dutton's early policies to put a stop to their current working arrangements.
01:04Now, Ms France said she also gained a sympathetic ear with the large population of public service employees who work in the electorate of Dixon.
01:11Now that area encompasses Petrie, Albany Creek, those North Brisbane suburbs.
01:16Ms France, who is a para-athlete, a former journalist, a single mother and a disability support advocate,
01:24has said that this victory is a clear sign that voters are heading the other way.
01:29Now, talking to voters on the ground, they've said that this victory may be more of a coalition loss
01:35than actually anything that the Labor Party has done.
01:38Here's what those voters have had to say.
01:40Clearly, the Liberal Party really have to reinvent themselves. There's no question about that.
01:44You know, they've absolutely been blown off the park.
01:47So, they really have to go back and revisit what are we about.
01:53The names are being tossed around now for future leadership.
01:57It seems as though it'll be same old, same old.
01:59The way he was leading, I guess, was probably the way the people swung the other way.
02:05As the dust settles, these voters will no doubt be keen to see what the party they've put so much support into
02:12has got in store for their communities.
02:14to support them as well and their communities.
02:19To the back of the Ladies and Ladies and Gentlemen, the citizens of the National Public Service
02:20Department, please give a help to make sure what they've been doing for their communities.
02:22And in and seventh day, please show if you have a question about how they can start
02:25making better and why they want to make sure what they can work for their communities.
02:27Let us know that they need an idea.
02:28To the right of the right of the National Public Service, please show us how the people
