00:00With gold a trim, fighting out of Fort Worth, Texas, by way of his heritage.
00:07He weighed in at 125.6 pounds, with a record of 17 wins and two losses.
00:13He has four wins coming by way of knockout.
00:17Tonight, making his second attempt at a world title, ladies and gentlemen,
00:21please welcome the world-ranked featherweight contender, introducing Edward King.
00:30Edward Vazquez!
00:35And his opponent, a cross-ring, the defending champion, fighting out of the red corner,
00:40presented in association with Zanfer Boxing.
00:44Wearing silver trunks with red, white, and green trim, hailing from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
00:53He weighed in at already 125.4 pounds.
00:57He is undefeated in his campaign in the ring, with a record of 26 wins, no losses, 22 wins, coming by way of knockout.
01:08Tonight, he is making the third defense of his title.
01:12Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the undefeated WBO featherweight champion of the world,
01:19Rafael, El Divino Espinosa!
01:30Once again, the refereeing in charge, and now we'll take you of instructions, Tarvey Dock.
01:34Okay, Bob, as you see your instructions earlier, as a reminder, bid my commands at all times, protect yourself at all times.
01:46Touch them up.
01:47Good luck.
01:47Tim Bradley, we have been fortunate to see this ascent of Rafael Espinosa up close.
01:56We were calling the fight on the night when he shocked Robesio Ramirez and became a world champion.
02:03The guy who we have visited over the course of his more recent title defenses, you can see growth,
02:10but you also see a maturity and a guy who's very reflective and sincere when he speaks, this 6'1 featherweight champion.
02:19Had a visit with him yesterday.
02:21He talked about how much emotion he has for the fans, for his home country people,
02:27and the responsibility he feels to represent them and himself with each and every performance.
02:32Yeah, that's a fighter fighting for something other than himself, you know, that's needed in the sport.
02:37You know, that's going to catapult you to greater things, you know, moving forward.
02:42And like you said, I mean, the discipline that he has shown, the hard work,
02:46all the changes that he has made since he's been a world champion, that should make him better tonight.
02:52Now on the other side with Edwin Vasquez.
02:55This is a fighter based out of Fort Worth, Texas, whose only two losses came against world champions
03:01in fights that could have gone either way against Ray Ford, who went on to become a world champion.
03:07And then he challenged for the IBF Junior Lightweight World title against Joe Cordino.
03:13Yeah, I mean, he has experience against world-class opposition.
03:16Like, you can say whatever you want about the matchup.
03:18However, this guy has been ID'd.
03:20He's rated in top 10 all across the board, and he's sanctioning bodies.
03:25So, he's a game guy.
03:26Yes, he's short.
03:27He's got a height disparity.
03:29Got to the inside.
03:30Got to the kitchen.
03:30Landed that left hand.
03:32Exactly.
03:32And when he gets to the kitchen, he's going to have the sets he has in shorter arms.
03:36Although you have Espinosa that likes to fight on the inside as well and gives up his height,
03:40those are going to be opportunities for the younger Vasquez or the shorter Vasquez
03:44to be able to land some of his offense.
03:46Yeah, we just saw it moments ago as Espinosa was firing back with ripe uppercuts on the inside.
03:52It is interesting to see a featherweight at 6'1 with his reach.
03:5774-inch reach, yet be so comfortable on the inside as GM wrap around and put that shot to the body.
04:07Vasquez trying to inch his way forward.
04:08Yeah, he's inching his way forward, but he's leaning over that front knee and allowing himself to be available for the uppercut.
04:15You see right there, Espinosa, he shoots the uppercut up the middle, and that's a dangerous punch that Espinosa has in his arsenal.
04:24That can hurt Vasquez.
04:25Here he goes underneath with the uppercut again.
04:31It was just blocked.
04:32He's trying to go to the body with that left elbow.
04:34A consistent work rate from Rafael Espinosa.
04:38Yeah, Espinosa coming in with that spotted stance.
04:40Yes, he's shorter.
04:41However, he gets really low, and that's hard for a taller fighter to have to bend his knees or remain upright,
04:49you know, because you're setting yourself up to get hit with some big shots over the top.
04:54See that uppercut right there, but you see the exposure that he has,
04:57and he attempted the looping right hand right there over the top.
05:00Espinosa right now, look.
05:01Hey, Vasquez is getting in his kitchen.
05:03Look, pretty interesting end to round number one here.
05:07A couple times Vasquez has gotten to the inside with success.
05:09Here we go!
05:19Don't worry about jamming upstairs, he's trying to hide up.
05:41This is giving him trouble.
05:42See how he's looking for you?
05:43That's exactly what he's looking for you.
05:46Every now and then, bring one over around the corner.
05:48Especially when you see him dropping his level.
05:51Bring one short around the corner.
06:11Shushu Carrington, one of the real rising stars of the sport.
06:16Of course, he is in the featherweight division.
06:18We are watching the WBO featherweight world champion, Rafael Espinosa.
06:22Six foot one to the five foot seven, Edward Vasquez.
06:27Espinosa beat Robesi Ramirez in an upset to become a world champion in December of 23.
06:33He said to me in that first fight, I really had the desire to be a champion.
06:37I had the heart of a champion, but now I learn, I improve mentally, physically.
06:42I feel like I'm twice as good now as I was on the night when I first won a world championship.
06:47Absolutely.
06:48I mean, look, if you win a world championship, it gives you confidence.
06:51You know, they've always said in the past that you get, you know, you improve 30%, you know, better because of that confidence.
06:59And I have to agree with that.
07:00You know, you have something to defend.
07:03You know, that belt, holding on to that belt, that's money for your family.
07:06And the longer you hold on to it, the more money you will make throughout your career.
07:09Edward Vasquez did have success in that first round.
07:12As you see, good work with the left hand from Espinosa to open up the second round.
07:15But Espinosa's work rate in that first round.
07:18He threw 86 punches to Vasquez's 45 thrown.
07:22He was 23 out of 86.
07:23Look, this fight's going to boil down to how much Vasquez can take.
07:27That's it, because he's going to take something to get on the inside.
07:30That reach is done to play with him.
07:32He has to take those uppercuts right there, those type of shots, in order to get his offense off.
07:37So, it's going to be about how much he can take of that.
07:42Touching, just changing pace a little bit, finding the target in Vasquez, wrapping around that left hand every so often to the body.
07:53Texas-based Edward Vasquez, Guadalajara Mexicos, Rafael Espinosa, and stylistically, and I'm sure fight fans everywhere are saying,
08:01thank you for the opening round and a half of just throwing punches and being offensive-minded
08:08compared to what we saw Friday night in Times Square and what we saw last night in Riyadh.
08:17And another problem, see, look, Vasquez is getting to where he gets.
08:20He's getting to his mark, and he's landing.
08:21However, he don't have the punching power, I believe, to be able to hurt Espinosa.
08:27Yeah, he can catch him.
08:28However, not hurt.
08:31There's been a couple right hands underneath, so the body from Espinosa in the second round have been effective.
08:36He's still looking for that right uppercut every so often.
08:40And the one thing that you've got to know about Espinosa is he likes these type of fights.
08:44He likes the inside fight.
08:45He gives up his height, and that's where the vulnerability is.
08:48However, look, when he's ready to turn it on and turn it up, he can.
08:53He has the ability to throw 90, 80, 100 punches a round.
08:58There's a right hand that lands as there was just a little bit of separation.
09:02We've been so impressed by Espinosa.
09:06There's Jorino Sanchez back in June of 24.
09:09He thought he was at his absolute best here in Vegas with that fourth round TKO.
09:12As we come to the end of two.
09:13Time!
09:23You got it.
09:37Listen to me.
09:39Every now and then, off the head movement, levitate, hard fucking jab down the pipe.
09:44Why do you think?
09:44It's nice to have you, right?
09:48There's a loophole.
09:53Come on.
10:00Don't leave you a seat on the floor.
10:01Don't leave you a seat on the floor.
10:02Don't leave you a seat on the floor.
10:03No, not leave you a seat on the floor.
10:04That's your seat.
10:08XORINLINE!
10:09XORINLINE!
10:10VIOLINLINE!
10:11XORINLINE!
10:12Great scene here at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
10:21The first of our two World Championship fights.
10:23A massive crowd is out because for the first time in four years,
10:28the monster is back in America.
10:30The pound-for-pound elite, undisputed junior featherweight champion.
10:34Now he, in a way, is coming up at our main event,
10:36but we're getting a really good look at Rafael Espinoza in this title defense
10:40against a fiery Edward Vasquez.
10:45I like what I'm saying from Vasquez right here.
10:47I mean, he's landing shots. He's coming in behind.
10:50Leaning in.
10:52Not having to worry about anything.
10:54Look at the willingness to throw here with those uppercuts.
10:57By the way, to this point, Rafael Espinoza,
11:00in the early moments of this third round,
11:01has now thrown 176 punches, landing 56, landing 31 power punches.
11:07In the entire 12-round fight last night,
11:10Canelo Alvarez threw 152.
11:12He's got 177, and we're in the first man of the third round.
11:16Look, Vasquez is coming to fight.
11:17He's coming to fight.
11:18Yes, he's had a huge reach disparity.
11:21However, he's already found his way in the inside.
11:23And again, I told you,
11:24Espinoza, he doesn't mind staying close in the pocket,
11:27so this is going to turn out to be an entertaining fight, people.
11:34Espinoza can make this fight really easy.
11:36Just stand on the outside and using his reach, right?
11:39On the inside from Vasquez,
11:42he has to take advantage of those opportunities that we saw moments ago.
11:46Yeah, and Espinoza's going to give it to him.
11:49Again, Espinoza now trying to box on the outside,
11:51trying to get his rhythm, trying to change up things.
11:54But again, it's really hard being a tall fighter
11:56and have to hit a guy that stands or squats down low like that.
12:00He's the tallest featherweight champion in history at 6'1".
12:04He goes to the body with that right hand from range.
12:08That body shot had an effect.
12:11He's hurt.
12:12He's hurt.
12:14Down the key.
12:16Down the key.
12:19It's going to be a liver shot, Tess.
12:20That's what I'm thinking.
12:21A liver shot.
12:23He's going to shoot the uppercut,
12:24and then he's going to come around with the left hook to the liver.
12:28He's going to bring those hands on the inside.
12:30He's going to be protecting that body on the inside,
12:32the solar plex area,
12:33and he's going to come around with the left hook to the gut.
12:36You see how Vasquez for a moment there
12:38downshifted offensively after that body shot.
12:40And head clashes.
12:45I've been seeing like three or four of them.
12:47Vasquez coming in behind his head,
12:49leaning forward.
12:50There's that right uppercut again.
12:51There it is.
12:51It's been available for the first three rounds here.
12:56Trying to line it up again
12:57as the shorter Vasquez leans over that front knee.
13:03It's a good, solid round
13:05for the world champion Rafael Espinosa.
13:08Coming to the end of three.
13:12What a great night of Sunday night fights here in Vegas.
13:15There it is.
13:15Espinosa on the attack.
13:31Keep your hands tight.
13:32Lean and go.
13:33Lean and go.
13:34But if you're staying down the center line,
13:36he don't got to look for you.
13:36That's why those uppercuts,
13:38those guys are trying to run.
13:39They're working well.
13:39Like they're working well.
13:42Aggression, but very controlled.
13:55It's not your work.
13:57You do what you want to hit him.
13:59You don't go for him.
14:01But you're ready.
14:02And you're clean.
14:03You work as you know.
14:04Beautiful scene here in Vegas for the championship fights
14:09and the uppercuts.
14:10We've been detailing an uppercut night so far for Espinosa.
14:13Uppercut City.
14:14That's what you do when you're the taller opponent.
14:16Guess what?
14:16The punch that's available for you?
14:18The uppercut.
14:19He's been landing it at will.
14:21Vasquez have yet to defend against it.
14:23All he has to do is bring that arm across
14:26or that glove across just to defend against it,
14:29to block it,
14:29at least put something in the lane of that uppercut.
14:32However, he has it.
14:34And he's taken it well thus far.
14:36However, we're going to see how long he can take that uppercut.
14:40Featherweight champion Rafael Espinosa.
14:42You see the total punches.
14:4385 of 241.
14:4557 of those are power punches.
14:47And what a game, Vasquez,
14:49to go straight to the inside
14:51after that third round.
14:53Trying for that overhand.
14:55I love the heart and desire of Vasquez.
14:58I'm not going to lie.
14:59You know, he's here to win.
15:01He's not here to lay down.
15:03Remember, we talked about that right hand to the body
15:05in the last round
15:07and how it just sort of unplugged Vasquez for a moment.
15:09That was it right there, Timmy.
15:11Yeah, when you, look,
15:12when you hit that,
15:12you can hit a guy with the best shot upstairs.
15:15But again, downstairs,
15:16no one likes it downstairs.
15:18That's the soft area.
15:20And once he landed that right hand,
15:22he found the key.
15:23He knows what he needs to do.
15:24However, look,
15:26Espinosa likes these type of fights.
15:28He's entertaining right now.
15:34Vasquez looking for work on the inside.
15:38You see 17 of the last 19 fights for Espinosa
15:41have finished by knockout.
15:42He's trying to split the guard.
15:43Gives an angle now.
15:44And then goes back to that right hand,
15:46to the body.
15:47Vasquez has been game.
15:48Of course, he comes from
15:49the great pedigree of the fighters
15:51in Fort Worth, Texas.
15:52His second world title fight of his career.
15:55Went up against Joe Corgana.
15:56Of course, Fort Worth.
15:57Donald Curry.
15:58Paulie Aiella back in the day.
16:02Look at Espinosa using angles now on the outside.
16:04That's a new wrinkle.
16:05He did have some angles.
16:06You know what?
16:06I take that back.
16:07He did have some angles.
16:09He did have some angles,
16:10but he's using them heavy tonight.
16:12Just pivoting out of harm's way.
16:17Right to the inside.
16:19As he doubles up the left hand,
16:20Vasquez lands to the body.
16:23And there's the right uppercut,
16:24but he fires over the top of it
16:26with the left hand of the zone.
16:27And look at the pace now
16:29as Espinosa on the attack
16:31goes with the uppercut
16:32back to the body
16:33and then a right hand to the body.
16:35He heard him
16:35with that left hook downstairs, Tess.
16:39And two body shots there.
16:40The left hook and the right hand.
16:42The body work has been great.
16:44Oh, you can see it.
16:45Doubles up to the body again.
16:46He's got him in big trouble.
16:48The champ's on the attack.
16:50Espinosa teeing off on Vasquez.
16:53Vasquez trying to survive
16:54the last 30 seconds of round four.
16:57What a right uppercut.
17:05He's in trouble against the ropes.
17:09Man, oh man,
17:10is Espinosa bringing it here tonight.
17:13Boy, the sheer toughness
17:14of God Vasquez is something else.
17:19Oh, right back to the body.
17:22One for good measure on the bell.
17:27He's fine.
17:37The deep red.
17:38Recover.
17:38Give me the bucket.
17:40Recover here.
17:40Stay nice and relax.
17:42Let's put it out.
17:42Here's the right hand to the body that started the onslaught of punches.
18:02Left hook missed there.
18:04Hit him right there on the hip.
18:08Ended the round again.
18:10Looking for that left hook right downstairs to deliver.
18:14Vasquez knows he has his man hurt.
18:16Excuse me.
18:18Espinosa knows that he has his man hurt right there along the ropes.
18:21Putting those combinations together.
18:23Let's see how he comes out in this next round.
18:26What a great way to start this night here in Vegas.
18:30Can Espinosa get rid of a game?
18:34Edward Vasquez.
18:35Bernardo.
18:36Rafael Espinosa.
18:37They just want him to focus on the body.
18:40Marco Antonio Barrera is here working with him as well.
18:42They don't want him head hunting.
18:46Right back to the offense for Espinosa who landed 120 total punches through the first four rounds.
18:53120 total punches he landed in the first four rounds.
18:55That's more punches landed than Haney and Ramirez combined.
18:59They combined for 110 on Friday night.
19:01Finally, the offense boxing fans have been waiting for this weekend.
19:05Let's bring in Mark Kriegel.
19:06How do you see things right now, Mark?
19:09Four rounds to none.
19:11My round three was a microcosm of the fight.
19:14Vasquez is doing great.
19:15He just doesn't have the power to equalize.
19:17That body shot changed the whole thing.
19:19I do not know how Vasquez survived round four.
19:24Back to the body with that right hand, Timmy.
19:27Yeah, he's looking to open him up.
19:29It seems like Vasquez understands what he's trying to do.
19:32I mean, he's doing the best he can to protect his body.
19:35However, see the combination change right there.
19:38Oh, good combination.
19:39Hey, good things happen when you let your hands go, and he threw between punches, and it worked.
19:45Vasquez just stepped out of range for him to go downstairs after those combinations,
19:49but you know he's trying to produce that knockout downstairs.
19:52That's for Dane's show.
19:54He has been hurt to the body multiple times.
19:56Vasquez goes back to it halfway through round number five.
19:59He used the uppercut again to bring the defense in to create that opening on the outside.
20:08The level game.
20:09Oh, that left hand went low.
20:11There's the warning from Harvey Duck.
20:13One of the best in the game.
20:15Goes right back to it, by the way.
20:16Doubles up the left hand.
20:17Goes right back to it.
20:17Right uppercut sneaks in as well.
20:18Too much firepower, Tess.
20:20Look at it come raining down here.
20:23Oh, Vasquez is in big trouble again.
20:26A minute to go in round five, and the ascended rising star featherweight champion is all over him.
20:35Espinosa.
20:36He has found his gear again.
20:39Let him go.
20:39Let him go.
20:47Another right uppercut.
20:48Just glancing that time, but you can see Vasquez falling forward.
20:52Oh, my goodness.
20:53Six uppercuts in a row.
20:55Look at the punishment, but the Texas tough Vasquez stands up to it somehow.
21:03Nose bleeding and everything, Tess.
21:06That nose is busted up.
21:08He's got blood streaming down.
21:10He's trying to hold on.
21:11He's taking punishment to the body.
21:13His face is red.
21:15A straight right hand right down the middle, and yet Vasquez stands in the pocket, blood streaming from his nose as the champ brings it.
21:24Need to stop this match.
21:25Time!
21:34How are we feeling here?
21:35You're taking a lot of punishment.
21:38I'm good.
21:39All right.
21:39Well, you got to show me something.
21:40I can't let you take that much more punishment, so I'm good.
21:43All right.
21:45Get a rinse.
21:46Spit this out.
21:47Spit this out right here.
21:49Give me two deep breaths.
21:51Listen to me.
21:51These are the rounds.
21:52We told him he's going to be dangerous.
21:53This is the dangerous rounds.
21:54We're getting through the storm here.
21:56You got to slip and stay in his chest.
21:58If he ain't got nothing there, march him back.
22:00Do what you got to do every time.
22:01You see what I'm saying?
22:02That breaks his rhythm.
22:03Do it again.
22:05Do it again.
22:07We got to stay in his chest.
22:11Especially if he touches him.
22:13We need to tire him out.
22:14We got to weather this storm, so we tire him out, and we can start coming back upstairs.
22:18Start finishing from the bottom up.
22:19If there's nothing there, slip and count and stay in his chest.
22:22We're out.
22:23We're out.
22:24You all right?
22:24Yeah.
22:25That's a way to take too much.
22:26Let's go.
22:31As we start the sixth round of this championship fight, referee Harvey Dock turned to Edward
22:35Vasquez and said, you got to show me something.
22:39What he's been shown right now is 123 power punches that have landed on him, including this
22:43three punch combination, Tim.
22:44This is ridiculous.
22:45I mean, look.
22:47I mean, I understand toughness, but getting hit with these type of shots over and over
22:51and over again.
22:53I mean, look.
22:53Vasquez is a tough guy, but man, I'm telling you right now, he's going to be sore tomorrow.
22:58That's for damn sure.
22:5933 power punches landed in the fourth round.
23:0133 power punches landed in the last round.
23:04Uppercuts.
23:05Straight rights to the body.
23:06Left hooks to the body.
23:07Every which way, Espinosa has done damage to Edward Vasquez.
23:12I mean, look.
23:12Look how vulnerable Espinosa is.
23:15He's just walking straight through these shots.
23:16I mean, he doesn't respect anything coming from Vasquez.
23:27It's like Vasquez has the style definitely to give Espinosa fits.
23:31You can see he's landing, but if he had more punching power, we could be in a different fight.
23:36Keep in mind, this is a guy in Edward Vasquez whose only two losses came against world champions
23:43in fights that all observers feel could have gone either way.
23:47He goes up against Espinosa here, and it's Espinosa rolling.
23:51As game and tough as Vasquez is.
23:54Oh, look at the work there.
23:58It's like his head is like the double-end bag, the floor-ceiling bag in the gym.
24:06The speed bag with that combination.
24:16And the one thing you've got to understand or take notes is that Espinosa, he hasn't gotten out of second gear yet.
24:21He has not, Tess.
24:23That's a scary thought, Tess.
24:25He hasn't revved up the engine.
24:27He hasn't.
24:28And what you're really describing is how in control he is.
24:31How composed he is.
24:32Yes.
24:33In control.
24:34He knows he can take the shots.
24:36He's not worried about anything coming back.
24:37He's taking his time slowly, you know, punishing, softening up Vasquez.
24:42Look at the face of Vasquez as he eats another right uppercut.
24:47Gets sent back from that right hand.
24:50And tries to punch up with a two-punch combination.
24:53Man, give the guy credit.
24:54He is game.
24:55He's just absorbing way too much.
24:59I'm just waiting on Espinosa to turn it up.
25:03When he wants to end it, you're going to know.
25:06It's come off the pace a little bit here in round number six,
25:17but still in complete control and continues to do damage
25:20compared to the sheer output we saw earlier.
25:25Now at length, behind that jab,
25:28as it comes to the end of six,
25:29the championship fight.
25:36Is he tough?
25:50Yeah, we knew he was going to be tough.
25:51We're in there.
25:51We're still in the fight.
25:53Sit down, slip, and counter.
25:54Stay in his chest.
25:55Stay nice and tight.
25:57Anytime you get to the ropes,
25:58look to build from the bottom up.
25:59But just stay slipping and hard counters.
26:02Slipping and hard counters.
26:03I want you to throw him crazy flurries in between
26:04so you give him a shot to counter.
26:06Slipping hard counters.
26:07I want you to throw him crazy flurries in your waist.
26:09You're going with everything, eh?
26:10But ready, ready.
26:12I don't want to put him on the floor
26:13and I don't want to put his legs on the floor.
26:17One of the greatest of all time,
26:19the Hall of Famer Marco Antonio Pereira,
26:22who's just off to the side,
26:24sitting behind the corner of Rafael Espinosa,
26:27the Mexican legend,
26:29watching the current Mexican featherweight champion.
26:33He has been by his side since he was 14 years old.
26:39Espinosa was a teenager, a young teenager,
26:42when Marco Antonio Pereira started working with him.
26:46Look at the total punches.
26:47180 of 461.
26:49Here's the guy that delivers power time and again on the left of your screen.
26:53And that is the great Naoya Inouye,
26:55a.k.a. the monster.
26:5626 knockouts with his 29-0 record.
27:00The undisputed champion in two divisions.
27:03A four-division world champion.
27:04And finally back in the United States to fight in prime time.
27:09And that is coming up in moments
27:10as he has his title defense of his junior featherweight.
27:13All four belts on the line against Ramon Cardenas.
27:16That's coming up in just moments.
27:19Round seven.
27:21There were rounds earlier we thought we didn't hear,
27:23we wouldn't hear the bell for the seventh round.
27:25I didn't think so either.
27:27However, that toughness of Vasquez is something else.
27:30And right now he's trying to use some footwork
27:32to get out of range, keep himself out of range.
27:35And some head work to make Espinosa miss.
27:38Oh, that uppercut.
27:47He's got to get out of that position in that neutral corner
27:50because that uppercut's going to be there all day.
27:51All day.
27:54Just one place, body shot on the liver.
27:57That's all it's going to take.
27:58Bernardo, what are they saying in the corner, Vasquez?
28:00Look, Luis, Antonio Cabello told me
28:02we knew we had to weather the early storm
28:04and we just have to stay consistent on the inside.
28:07Whether they're early storm.
28:09This thing's been like a hurricane going through the desert
28:11here in Vegas for six and a half rounds.
28:14Body shot, uppercut, uppercut, uppercut.
28:17He knows it.
28:18He's going after it.
28:19Body shot, running down straight right hands.
28:21This thing is over.
28:23Espinosa just gets better, better, better
28:26and wins by TKO.
28:28I don't care how tough you are, Tess.
28:42You can't take that amount of punches.
28:43No.
28:45I don't care.
28:46You can't take that type of punishment.
28:49Tano, this guy is your kind of fighter.
28:51Yeah, absolutely.
28:51He is everything that you love and respect in the game.
28:53Absolutely.
28:54I mean, look, Espinosa, was it clean work?
28:57No, it wasn't clean work.
28:58However, look, that vulnerability,
29:01it may make guys want to fight him.
29:03But look at this right here, the finish.
29:05He know he had his man hurt.
29:07Just a matter of time.
29:10Three uppercuts.
29:12Blind him with that lead hand right there.
29:14Had this man in the right position right there
29:16and just teeing off.
29:18Forcing the ref to step in to stop the action.
29:20Great work right there.
29:22Great experience by Espinosa.
29:25That left hook right there.
29:27He flicked the jab out there and came around that guard.
29:31Came around that elbow with that left hook.
29:34That started it all right there.
29:36That was the beginning of the end.
29:43Everything that he said he would do,
29:46that face is the only scorecard you need to see.
29:49A batter, Edward Vasquez, who was tough.
29:55He was game.
29:56But man, oh man, did he run into something special here tonight in Espinosa.
30:00Look, I thought he landed that left hook to the body.
30:02He didn't.
30:03Vasquez blocked that shot.
30:05But again, it was too much.
30:06It was just a matter of time.
30:07I mean, I was listening to the corner.
30:08The corner was trying to keep Vasquez in the fight.
30:11Vasquez was telling his corner man, hey, it's tough.
30:14This guy is tough.
30:16Yeah, he is tough.
30:17He's a nightmare.
30:17Not only do you got to deal with the height, the reach,
30:20but you got to deal with the volume and the punching power of Vespa Nova.
30:23Let's make it official.
30:25Here's Jimmy Lennon Jr.
30:29Ladies and gentlemen, we have the time of 1 minute 47 seconds in round number 7.
30:35A referee in charge, Harvey Dock, stops the contest.
30:39He is the winner by way of technical knockout,
30:41and he is still the undefeated WBO featherweight champion of the world,
30:48Rafael Espinoza.
30:58Rafael Espinoza, the 6'1 WBO featherweight champion,
31:04his third title defense, and he put on an offensive showcase.
31:10The average for featherweights in terms of landing is 27%.
31:14He landed 40%.
31:15But the 161 power punches with 60 to the body,
31:226-0 to the body in not even 7 full rounds,
31:27that ends it, impressively.
31:30To the ring we go, and Bernardo.
