00:00How did you go batting for the first time this season, over a month in the last season?
00:07How challenging is it?
00:09Did you just come in and switch off and play this sort of thing?
00:12It was difficult sitting there and watching the players win.
00:17It wasn't difficult watching them win, but for me I wanted the opportunity to go there and execute.
00:23Today he presented himself with the opportunity and I just tried to capitalize on it.
00:28I wasn't saying that I was thinking to go there and hit 53 or 14, but I was just thinking to try and get my team to a good finish
00:35and try and get the momentum back because at one stage of the game they had the momentum going into the last two or three of us.
00:43One of these are the kind of innings that we dream of.
00:47Is there a point in your short innings where you feel that you have today's minded that I'm getting involved?
00:52Is it 1-6, is it 2-4s? How does it work today for you?
00:57Well today actually at one point when I was out there, when I walked to the crease, I had an idea of what they were trying to bowl.
01:04So I went out there to prepare for that.
01:06And then Timmy told me just to hold my shape a bit because the ball was creeping in the wicket.
01:10So my mindset automatically changed to just base up and watch the ball as it comes and try and hit in my areas.
01:19And don't try and swing too early.
01:22So at that point in the time I was just focused on the ball and, you know, they mis-execute some of the plan.
01:29So I capitalized on that.
01:31Hi, Mario.
01:32You've had one such innings before in your IPA career.
01:37After that initial sort of few sixes, did your mind automatically go back to that innings?
01:43Like what you did right there and you wanted to include it here?
01:47To be honest, today I was just thinking, I was more focused on the bowler and what they were trying to do.
01:54And my mind didn't go back there, but obviously now I'm thinking about it that, you know, I had two great innings in the IPA so far.
02:01How can I kick on with that?
02:02So just for me, when I hit the first two, I know I had the bowler and the pressure.
02:07I saw his body language, so I was like, okay, let me try and put you under some more pressure.
02:12And I continued going, continued going.
02:14Then I saw him, he was kind of confused when he'd go over or wrong, so I know I had him.
02:19So just at that point I just continued going.
02:22You bowled yourself, so did you at some stage feel that, do you feel sad for bowlers when you hit them?
02:33Well, today wasn't a good day to feel sad for bowlers because myself won over 18.
02:39So, on good wicket and on these small grungs, as a hitter and as a runger, I try and capitalise on, you know, whatever opportunity presents itself.
02:51So whenever I get an opportunity with a bat, I know that I have to do my best to actually get some sort of performance in.
02:58Because I know with the ball it will be difficult.
03:00Because on these wickets and these type of batters, they hunt you, man, they hunt you.
03:05So it's all about how we can execute.
03:07And whenever you get an opportunity, make an impact with whatever skill presents itself on that day.
03:12And today was my bat in, so I'm thankful that I can actually, you know, give the team that kind of performance to win.
03:19Yeah.
03:20Let me have the mic.
03:22Hi.
03:23We just spoke about you bowling that one bowl.
03:28Is there a case of, I know there were 200 scored from both the teams, but was there a case of the ball speaking a little bit from the civilian end that you bowled,
03:37which is where a lot of the wickets actually fell to the fast bonus when they banged it another little shot.
03:42Was it the case of the one end being there with?
03:45I think after the first few overs, you know, even the batters, every batter that went out there,
03:54that actually when we were at the halftime, you know, Vera told us that, you know, if we can hold a length on this wicket,
03:59it's going to be difficult because a few ball was coming and some were sticking.
04:03So it wasn't a big 200 and something wicket, but the way both sides batted on it, you know, it make it look that kind of way.
04:10But it was a kind of difficult wicket.
04:12The spinner had something.
04:13We see our spinner bowl the 17th over.
04:15So it had something for the spinners, the way you did the bowl and stuff.
04:18It was difficult for the batters, even Nor.
04:21It was difficult.
04:22It was just the fast bowler and in the depth.
04:25And to our side, you know, our bowlers, you know, hold a nerve a bit in the depth going into the depth
04:31because they had wicket in hand.
04:32But the way we execute our plan and execute the way the guys execute was,
04:36was difficult to actually capitalize on them.
04:38So the last three of that wibowl was brilliant.
04:42Yeah.
