00:00Let's get into it last night.
00:01The New York Knicks, blue game five, on the road to game number six,
00:04a spirited atmosphere in Detroit.
00:06The Knicks open up exactly the way you want.
00:1037-23, try to quiet that crowd, and it got erased in the second period.
00:15And away we went into the second half, which led us to the final period.
00:19You needed a comeback.
00:20You needed a big shot.
00:22And Jalen Brunson gave it to you, Coach.
00:25Hey, listen.
00:26First of all, shout out to Detroit Pistons.
00:27What a job by J.B. Bickerson with that team.
00:31I mean, Monty Williams, you'll never get a head-of-coaching job ever again in your life.
00:35But when you really look at it, that second quarter by Malik Beasley particularly,
00:40basically got them completely back in the game.
00:43Third quarter, Knicks come and punch again.
00:45And then here comes Detroit, obviously, in the fourth quarter.
00:50112-105.
00:51And, you know, Jalen Brunson, you know, big body Brunson,
00:57you know, I'm going to start calling him Captain Clutch because his performance
01:01sound is stretched 112-105 to kind of get, most importantly, that three-point play on
01:07Schroeder to get the lead to four, a couple more shots, and then one-up play, as much
01:12as we've knocked tips, and rightfully so.
01:15Now, the play that he ran, end of game, which if anybody knows, they run what's called a
01:21ghost screen, which is you kind of pretend you're setting a screen and you clear out.
01:25What it does is it throws off the defender's timing because Detroit was probably going to
01:29be ready to switch.
01:31Well, by Bridges being the brush, the ghost screener, it made like a sore top to kind of
01:37freeze up a little bit because they thought it was a switch.
01:39So, as he goes out, now you see Brunson go to his left, now you, as a lefty, a sore
01:46has got to cut him off.
01:48Great snatch back, get to the top of the key, knock down three, drive home safely.
01:55Got it.
01:56I mean, two double-digit leads they threw up on there, Coach.
02:00That is the most infuriating Knicks team to watch when it all comes down to it, but that's
02:06where experience kicked in, right?
02:08Jalen is a guy who can make those shots when a game matters, and Detroit just doesn't have
02:14that at this point.
02:16But to me, Coach, the problem with the Knicks moving forward is, A, you should be hanging
02:21a Celtics jersey up behind you instead of that Knicks one, but B, it's just too reliant
02:28on Brunson, is it not, Coach?
02:30Somebody else has got to step up here if they're going to take down the Celtics.
02:34It's honestly, it's going to have to be Cat.
02:39And Cat was, let's be honest, this is the, they lost, the Knicks won this game, series
02:45four games to two, and in two games they lost, he was awful, and he was terrible last night,
02:52and he got bailed out by a 40-piece.
02:54You're not going to be able to do that versus Boston.
02:56Let's just be, like, honest about this here.
02:58Cat has to be the Cat they need, and you still got to get OG and Bridges to play somewhat
03:06well, and you have to have the bench.
03:10See where I'm going with this, folks?
03:11Boston has really played really extremely well.
03:14They're undefeated against the Knicks.
03:16Let's be honest, except for the last game, none of the games were close.
03:19It's important for the Knicks to be competitive, and let's be honest, if the Knicks have any,
03:24any sniff in the series, they got to steal one of the first two in Boston, which at times,
03:30Boston can cough up games because of their three-point shooting.
03:34The problem is, do the Knicks have enough scoring consistently on the other side to score?
03:40Because you obviously know a guy like Drew Holloway, Derek White, they're going to put him
03:46on Brunson and kind of wear him out.
