00:00Germany's domestic intelligence agency designated the whole AFD party as a confirmed right-wing
00:06extremist organization on Friday.
00:09The agency says the AFD threatens democracy due to its xenophobic views on ethnicity.
00:14It concluded that the party discriminates against non-ethnic Germans, denying them equal status,
00:19especially those from Muslim backgrounds, as Germany's Minister of the Interior Nancy
00:23Faeser explained.
00:53The party reacted to today's decision saying it is a serious blow to German democracy, pointing
01:04to the polls showing the AFD as a strongest force.
01:08The AFD stated that it will continue to continue this country.
01:14The AFD stated that it will continue to continue the political action.
01:20The AFD stated that it will continue to defend itself legally against defamation.
01:26The decision follows a three-year review of AFD actions, statements and extremist links.
01:31The AFD came second in February's general elections, ahead of the incoming junior coalition partner,
01:37the SPD.
01:39Part of the AFD, like its youth wing, were already classified this week.
01:45Parliament could theoretically ask for the party to be dissolved, but this is considered
01:49highly unlikely.
01:50No, Africans were not denied access to visit Pope Francis' body.
02:04A whole host of posts on X are alleging that the Vatican authorities prevented African citizens
02:09from approaching Pope Francis' body to pay their respects as he lay in state.
02:14The posts share a video of a black man in St. Peter's Basilica arguing with someone else
02:19off screen.
02:20He is then escorted away by security while other visitors to the Vatican look on.
02:25The video is accompanied with captions saying that Africans were blocked from bidding farewell
02:29to Pope Francis, with some claiming that it amounts to racism.
02:34However, this isn't true.
02:35St. Peter's Basilica was open to all, with tens of thousands queuing to see his open coffin,
02:41including Africans.
02:42People were able to see the late Pope lying in state between the 23rd and 25th of April,
02:47according to news reports at the time.
02:49A reverse image search of a still from the video shows us that it was put online as late
02:54as the 22nd of April, a day before the lying in state began and the day after Pope Francis'
03:00death.
03:01This is despite even certain news outlets claiming that the event shown in the video occurred while
03:05the Pope's body was on display to the public.
03:08The reverse image search also takes us to local Italian news reports, which were also published
03:13on the 22nd of April.
03:14These say that the man appeared to bypass security checks and the large queue of the faithful,
03:19who had been lining up to bid a figurative farewell to the Bishop of Rome before the lying
03:23in state began.
03:25Community notes on certain ex-posts also say that the man is known to people living in the
03:30area and that he often causes a disturbance but is ultimately harmless.
03:34There are no credible sources suggesting that anyone was denied access to see his body on
03:39the grounds of their country of origin or the colour of their skin, including a lack of
03:43any such announcement from the Vatican itself.

03:56Over 19 million Romanians are set to go to the polls on Sunday, where they will cast their
04:01vote on one of the 11 candidates registered in the presidential race.
04:06Opinion polls suggest far-right candidate Jorge Simeon, who is the leader of the Opposition
04:11Alliance for Uniting Romanians, is currently the front-runner.
04:15Three other candidates are also polling strongly.
04:18Bucharest Mayor Nikushar Dunn, Crin Antunescu, the pro-EU coalition government's single candidate,
04:25and Victor Ponta, a former prime minister.
04:28Behind them is Elena Lasconi, the leader of the Opposition Save Romania Union Party.
04:34The favorite to move here to the Cotrocen Palace, George Simeon avoided debates and didn't
04:40take part in any. Victor Ponta, also a candidate hoping for the second place, attended only one
04:48debate but not the final one.
04:50Simeon nu participă la dezbateri pentru că asta l-ar putea defavoriza, pentru că nu luptă
04:58pentru locul întâi, l-are asigurat. Trebuie să răspundă unor întrebări care sunt dificile și
05:03care ar putea să-l coste voturi importante.
05:07În schimb, pentru plutonul de patru candidați, în care se află și doamna Lasconi, lucrurile pot evolua.
05:14An audience study showed that the televised debate had a significant impact on viewers.
05:19Some candidates rely more on traditional media, while others lean on social media instead.
05:55Romania was supposed to elect a new head of state late last year.
05:59However, the Constitutional Court annulled the 2024 presidential elections
06:04as there were suspicions of foreign interference in the electoral process.
06:09The legality of the campaign of ultra-national candidate Kalin Giorgescu was also questioned.
06:15Just days before this year's new first round of elections,
06:18a judge overturned the Constitutional Court's decision to revoke the 2024 elections.
06:24But this decision was quickly overturned by the Romanian High Court of Justice.
06:32Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says
06:35the minerals deal signed with the United States is a truly equal agreement.
06:39Zelensky says the version of the deal signed on Wednesday
06:42is significantly more advantageous to Ukraine than previous versions offered.
06:47The Ukrainian leader says the new text was a result of weeks of discussions.
06:52The agreement has significantly changed in the process of preparation.
06:56Now it is a truly equal agreement,
07:00which creates a possibility for investment in Ukraine,
07:04quite a long way,
07:06apart from that,
07:07even though,
07:08for the fundamental modernization of production in Ukraine
07:12and, as far as important,
07:15modernization juridical practices in our country.
07:19Zelensky says the new agreement stipulates
07:23that Kyiv is under no obligation of debt for previous U.S. assistance.
07:27He added that the deal, yet to be ratified by Ukraine's parliament,
07:31is now a true partnership with a foundation for both countries
07:34to make money and financially benefit.
07:37The agreement doesn't have a bill,
07:39it doesn't have a bill,
07:40it creates an renewal fund,
07:43a fund for improvement,
07:44the fund for新しく investment in Ukraine
07:47and invest in the U.S.
07:48and to pay back to that.
07:50It's working together with the U.S. and with the U.S.
07:54and in a right-wing standards.
07:55Residents of the capital Kiev have had mixed reactions.
08:25The deal has been hailed as a remarkable achievement by officials on both sides.
08:39The U.S. is expected to gain access to critical Ukrainian minerals,
08:43which U.S. President Donald Trump has been eyeing as a form of repayment for aid his country has given to Kyiv.
08:49The U.K.'s Football Association has announced that transgender women will no longer be allowed to compete in women's football in England.
08:58The decision follows a Supreme Court ruling last month that redefined the term woman to exclusively those born biologically female.
09:06Some former athletes were pleased by the announcement.
09:09I'm obviously extremely pleased that our young girls and our women are going to get their sport back again,
09:14which is free from males. Nothing has actually changed.
09:18You know, the Equality Act at the Supreme Court two weeks ago was clarified.
09:22It wasn't changed. It was clarified.
09:25And biology has always been the same. The science hasn't changed either.
09:29Critics have slammed the F.A. for acting on a court ruling they believe is unscientific.
09:34The British Medical Association have already said that the Supreme Court ruling is scientifically illiterate.
09:40And, you know, anyone who's played women's football knows that we all have a wide variety of bodies.
09:45What we really want from the F.A. is more support for young women playing football.
09:49You know, we've been asking for years for more money, more support, more initiatives to support young women into football.
09:57And instead, time and energy is being devoted to trans people from football.
10:02The new ban is set to go into effect from the 1st of June.
10:06Are Europeans afraid of economic headwinds?
10:17A new study says that, despite global economic turbulence, most Europeans aren't going to hold back on leisure spending.
10:26Around 70% want to tick off a bucket list experience this year.
10:32Travel and tourism lead the way, with 89% choosing them as top priorities.
10:39A third of consumers assign a specific budget to that, over 1,000 euros.
10:45For those craving more than just one big moment, the other priorities are going to be outdoors, food, films and family-related experiences, before live music events.
11:00Among Europeans, Poles and Romanians are the most eager to turn their dreams into plans,
11:06while Gen Z is the most hedonistic generation, as nearly half of them plan to check off two or more bucket list experiences.
11:15They say they'll finance them by cutting on weekly food shopping and even transportation costs.
11:22In general, many Europeans will try to save up instead of splurging on luxuries.
11:2840% will be cutting back on clothing, 38% on luxury treats and 32% on gadgets.
