00:01We're ranking every McDonald's menu item in the US and the UK.
00:05This is the Food Wars tier list.
00:07We're going to start by comparing items you can find in both the US and the UK.
00:11Firstly, the fries.
00:12UK McDonald's fries are not all they're cracked up to be.
00:15I've tried the American McDonald's fries, and they are better than ours.
00:18Harry is correct. Our fries are way better.
00:20The secret ingredient, chemicals.
00:23The issue I have in the UK is that as soon as these come out of the fryer,
00:26they get worse and worse and worse.
00:28You can see how floppy this is.
00:30You can't mess with these fries.
00:32I don't want to hear nothing about waffle fries.
00:34I don't want to hear about seasoned fries, curly fries.
00:36This is American food engineering at its finest.
00:38These fries are so good.
00:39I don't even think they're the best fast food fry in the UK, full stop.
00:43C tier.
00:45B tier.
00:47Right in the middle there.
00:48You know, at the end of the day, they're fries.
00:50Like, okay, you know, not a whole meal.
00:53Big Mac.
00:54The Big Mac.
00:56One of the world's most, if not the world's most iconic hamburger.
01:00I thought that the Big Mac in the UK tasted exactly like the Big Mac in the US.
01:05I will say there are some pretty big differences in the ingredients list in the US and the UK.
01:09But I've tried both.
01:10And honestly, the taste is pretty much identical.
01:12It's so good we forget that there's that middle piece of bread that's completely useless.
01:18I don't know why there's in the middle there.
01:20It's such a bizarre thing that they landed on.
01:22I will maybe find like a new menu item at McDonald's.
01:25Order it.
01:26It'll be good.
01:27But then I leave and I think I should have just ordered the Big Mac.
01:32Is it S tier?
01:34I do think there are burgers doing things slightly better.
01:38There's a strong A tier burger.
01:42Right.
01:43It's like creeping up in the S zone.
01:46Next up, we've got the Quarter Pounder with cheese.
01:48I'm going to say this a lot with McDonald's, but this is another iconic burger.
01:52But an actual quarter pound of beef for a burger like this, I think is the perfect amount.
01:57This is an A tier burger, but not as good as the Big Mac.
02:01So I will tuck it just down here.
02:03It's going to be my first entry into S tier, the god level.
02:08S tier, yeah.
02:11What does S mean?
02:13Why is S tier at the top?
02:14Do we know what S stands for?
02:15Next up is the Double Quarter Pounder with cheese.
02:18Not the Half Pounder, the Double Quarter.
02:21There's going to be a bit of a theme here as well, where basically a lot of the McDonald's menu items are the same thing, but just with a changed ratio.
02:27So literally all they've done here is add one extra beef patty.
02:30Increase the meat, increase the cheese. Those are the rules.
02:34The amount of chewing that that requires might give you some indication as to where I'm going to put this.
02:39I like meat. This isn't a complaint on too much meat.
02:42It's just, it's like, ugh.
02:43You get two Quarter Pounders instead of them doing this double thing.
02:47Yeah, ultimately I think it's just a worse mouthful and a worse burger.
02:50So I'm going to put it below the single Quarter Pounder.
02:53In B tier.
02:55A little generous with the Photoshop there, guys.
02:58And even like, it's not as good as the fries, so I'm going to put it down there.
03:01The McDonald's hamburger.
03:07That's got cheese on it.
03:09Uh, it's so tiny. It's so basic. And I'm sorry, it's just so boring. I would never get one of these.
03:16So I think it's going to have to be, sadly, a C-tip burger.
03:23Meat, ketchup and mustard, pickle, very sweet bread. This is for little kids.
03:28And I ain't a little kid.
03:31Ba-bam! The first D. Ooh!
03:34Next up we have the cheeseburger.
03:36Throw a little cheese on that bad boy and that's a different story.
03:39I do think that for me the addition of the cheese does elevate it a little bit.
03:43I don't know. I'm feeling generous. I don't give it a B.
03:47But again, it's going to go a leg down here.
03:50I do think it's slightly better than the hamburger.
03:53So again, I think that's probably a B-tip burger for me.
03:57Next up we have the double cheeseburger.
03:59When I talk about ratios, when I talk about mouthfeel,
04:02I think pound for pound this might be the best burger in the world.
04:09Harry, my man, this isn't the best burger on this table.
04:13I mean that because you can walk into a McDonald's,
04:15you can get one of these for around £1.99.
04:17And there's something about it that for me hits the exact spot
04:23I want a burger to hit.
04:26Listen to him talk about it like that.
04:28In the delicate balancing act of burger ratios,
04:31something about the McDonald's double cheeseburger
04:33has just absolutely nailed it.
04:35So for me, it's the first entry in S2.
04:40He's kind of selling me on the double cheeseburger.
04:44I'm like, yeah, actually, it's a good session burger, we'll say.
04:51You know, it can eat a lot of them
04:53and it does have a nice consistent taste to it
04:55or consistent mouthfeel.
04:58Weird thing to keep saying, but best burger in the world.
05:01It's a little...
05:02You're kind of overselling it there, my man.
05:05Here are some chicken and fish options
05:07that you can find in both the US and the UK.
05:09This is a relatively new addition to the UK menu.
05:11I think it's only been on the menu for a year or so,
05:13but it's our version of a crispy chicken sandwich.
05:16This is a good burger.
05:17I do like this.
05:18It's a crispy chicken breast fillet.
05:20It's got the almost like kind of like pretzel bun design
05:22with the sesame seeds.
05:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:28The sandwich that comes in the wet bag, I'm not quite sure.
05:32It's simple. It's great flavor.
05:34It's really good chicken breast.
05:35I always enjoy it when I have it.
05:37So I'm gonna go ahead and put this one up on the A tier as well.
05:41Hey-oh!
05:42It's gonna be a really strong A tier.
05:44I'm gonna put this higher up in A tier
05:47rather than further along, just because logistics, you know.
05:50What's even better than the Mc Crispy, in my opinion,
05:55is the spicy Mc Crispy.
05:57Now, first thing forgotten.
05:58I love it.
05:59It's one of my favorite sandwiches.
06:00Now, I have some problems with the McSpicy.
06:03On paper, it looks kind of similar to the Mc Crispy.
06:07The bun isn't as fancy.
06:09I'm not sure why, but they've just given it a worse bun.
06:12Also, I mean, the taste.
06:16All it really feels like is that I've taken a sort of chicken patty
06:20and just put chili powder on it.
06:22So, like, there's heat to it.
06:23No depth of flavor whatsoever.
06:25Yeah, the thing you guys got over there,
06:27that's not what we got over here, Harry.
06:28So, next time you're in town,
06:30we'll make sure we'll get some spicy Mc Crispy Sandoz.
06:34This one for me, it's going S tier. Yeah!
06:39I've had great spicy chicken sandwiches in the past.
06:41This is not one of them.
06:43For me, it's our first entry onto D tier.
06:49The McChicken sandwich kind of just makes me sad.
06:53I'm gonna be honest.
06:54Society has progressed beyond the need
06:56for the McChicken sandwich.
06:58I absolutely love the McChicken.
07:00It is essentially a giant chicken nugget with mayo.
07:04But chicken nuggets are awesome.
07:07I genuinely think at this point,
07:10the McChicken could be deleted from the UK menu
07:13and no one would bat an eyelid.
07:15No one would shed a tear.
07:16It's our first Womp Womp.
07:18It's an E-tier burger.
07:20I'm really sorry to any McChicken heads out there,
07:25but your time is up.
07:28I think the McChicken's great.
07:30And if you took it off the menu here in the US,
07:32I think people would lose their minds.
07:34It's firmly a B-boy.
07:37Bam!
07:38Always good in a pinch.
07:40Always good in a pinch.
07:41Next up, we have the Filet-O-Fish.
07:44In the UK, we really love our fish finger sandwiches.
07:47And this kind of performs that function.
07:49It's great.
07:50I think on paper, this is like an A-tier burger.
07:52However, I have one crucial issue with the Filet-O-Fish.
07:56Have you ever actually opened one of these up
07:58and inspected the insides?
07:59Because what you'll notice is that
08:02you don't get a full slice of cheese.
08:08What?
08:10I've never looked.
08:11Let's find out together.
08:15What the hell?
08:19What the hell?
08:20You only ever, and this isn't a mistake,
08:22this is a by-design thing,
08:24you only ever get half a slice of cheese
08:26with the Filet-O-Fish.
08:28It's the same here.
08:29It's half a slice of...
08:30Why is it half a slice of cheese?
08:31At least they put mine down the middle.
08:33What?
08:34What?
08:35Something about this just really rattles me.
08:37It's like, give me the other half of my slice of cheese.
08:40But I think without that,
08:41it ends up being like a pretty solid B-tier burger.
08:45If you were to ask me leading up to this,
08:47what's the Filet-O-Fish?
08:48I'm like, man, that's one of the best sandwiches
08:50they got full stop.
08:52But this cheese thing, I'm also that petty.
08:54You're going right to the A.
08:56Boom.
08:58I know it's petty.
08:59I'm a petty guy.
09:00What can I say?
09:01Maybe they thought one slice of cheese was too cheesy?
09:04Cheese and a fish...
09:07Cheese and a fish sandwich does seem kind of strange.
09:10Right?
09:11Most fish doesn't have cheese on it.
09:13I'm sure some of it does.
09:14Please don't bother me with your messages
09:15about your favorite cheese and fish combination.
09:18I don't care.
09:19And last but by no means least in this section,
09:21the iconic McDonald's chicken nugget.
09:23Uh, yeah, I mean, the nuggets, man.
09:28I mean, these nuggets.
09:29Mmm.
09:31Even with no sauce, these things are amazing.
09:33I actually found the US breading to be kind of weird.
09:36It was more of like a casing rather than this,
09:38where this is actually breaded chicken.
09:40No.
09:42No.
09:43I just gave up on life.
09:44I'm like, look, I'm just going to eat until I drop dead.
09:46I probably would have a steady stream of nuggets every day.
09:49It's an S tier.
09:51S tier, yeah.
09:53Gotta agree with the Man Harry on this one.
09:55S tier.
09:57Come on.
09:59I got nothing in C.
10:00Only one thing in D and nothing in E.
10:02Should I just be harsher?
10:03I don't know what's going on here.
10:05I don't, I just really like McDonald's, I guess.
10:07Yeah, I guess I'm surprised to see the McChicken that high up,
10:09given where I put mine, but to each their own.
10:12At least we agree on the nuggets.
10:16Here are some breakfast items we can find in both the US and the UK.
10:19We're starting very simple with just an egg and cheese McMuffin.
10:23Our egg McMuffin, gotta point this out,
10:27has Canadian bacon.
10:31It's just a bit basic.
10:33And for me, there are way better options on the breakfast menu.
10:36So I think for me, that's like a fairly low C tier.
10:42Look, when this first came out, it was like a miracle.
10:45Oh my God.
10:46I don't think the term breakfast sandwich is even something
10:48that people even used frequently.
10:51But since then, they've done so much better things with breakfast
10:55that as classic as you are, you go and see.
10:59Speaking of better options, sausage and egg McMuffin.
11:02Immediate improvement.
11:04You still get the cheese as well.
11:05Don't stick sausage in here and think like,
11:07oh wow, it's such a better sandwich.
11:09I mean, you know what it is?
11:10You know what I'm realizing it is?
11:11The thing I like the least about these sandwiches,
11:13is the muffin part.
11:14It's just really dry and dusty.
11:16For those who love the sausage and Egg McMuffin,
11:19don't be too annoyed because more to come later on this.
11:22But for me, that's like a pretty strong A tier burger.
11:27With that, it still is dry, dense,
11:31a lot of bread, not a lot of flavor.
11:34So I'm going to put this also in the C tier,
11:37a little bit lower than Egg McMuffin.
11:39Next up, we have pancakes and syrup.
11:42I couldn't tell you the last time I ordered this.
11:45Probably like when I was a kid.
11:47You're not going to believe this.
11:49They didn't give us any syrup or any butter.
11:52Ugh.
11:53I mean, the pancakes are almost like so spongy,
11:56yet so hard to pull apart that...
12:03Yeah, I said a little bit thick and dense.
12:05That's very thick and dense.
12:07Impossible to chew dry.
12:09Impossible to chew dry.
12:10I just don't think any pancakes should be that chewy.
12:13Bam!
12:15I think they're D tier for me.
12:18And then obviously we have pancakes with sausage.
12:21I don't think one sausage patty is enough to redeem that.
12:25So for me, that can just join its buddy down there in D tier.
12:29I like the sausage just fine, but still.
12:32Booyah!
12:33Sorry, pancake lovers.
12:36The good news is we are ending on a high with the McDonald's hash brown.
12:40These are phenomenal.
12:41Some of the best hash browns probably in the world, I would say.
12:45I'm dishing out some...
12:46I'm dishing out some high praise to McDonald's, but I love it. It's great.
12:49When I get McDonald's breakfast, I'm just as much looking forward to this as in the sandwich.
12:54I mean, this bag, it seems like a no-brainer, but you do this while you're driving, right?
12:58Going to work, chomping on one of these.
13:00Forget it.
13:01On the train, got your hand on the thing.
13:03Chomp, chomp, chomp.
13:04For me, it's an important part of the breakfast order.
13:07It's not the main event of the breakfast order.
13:09So I don't think it's going to be like an S tier, but I feel pretty confident in putting McDonald's hash browns as like a solid mid to high A tier.
13:21Yes, it's not a meal, but it's sometimes the best part of a McDonald's breakfast.
13:27So for that, it's going to the S.
13:32Booyah!
13:34The sausage McMuffin.
13:35Harry, I'm sorry, but the sausage and egg muffin A.
13:40Get real, bro.
13:41A get real.
13:44Mate, stop eating.
13:45I feel like I'm watching a mukbang.
13:46They actually have like a weirdly satisfying texture.
13:53You just said you hated the texture.
13:56We also wanted to compare a couple of shared dessert options.
14:02We have the Oreo McFlurry.
14:04It's creamy, but like quite fluffy at the same time.
14:07Yeah, it's green for some reason.
14:10Right?
14:11That's green.
14:12Oh, it's March and Shamrock Shake stuff.
14:15Which actually is very good.
14:17Oreo McFlurry, fine, but make it Irish, I guess.
14:24Make it green.
14:25Feeling a sour bee up here, maybe.
14:28Yeah, bee's filling up.
14:30We have to start overlapping because we are running out of space.
14:35Americans, take note.
14:37We in the UK still fry our apple pies, and they are so good.
14:41They are delicious.
14:42The pastry is so crispy.
14:44The filling is sweet and tart and delicious.
14:50I do agree.
14:51Fried's probably better.
14:55Yeah.
14:56You know what?
14:57I'm going to put in the sea level.
14:59Fried apple pies.
15:00Incredible.
15:01Easy.
15:02Easy, Esther.
15:03Next up, it's time for sauce talk, and that means sauce board.
15:16We got the little guy here.
15:19Sauce talk with a tiny board.
15:22We thought it was slightly weird to put sauces next to actual food items, but we still wanted
15:28to talk about them, so tiny board.
15:30Tiny, tiny, tiny.
15:31First up, we have ketchup, which, you know, it's a good sauce.
15:35A nice B tier.
15:36Let's power through these sauces real quick.
15:38Starting off with ketchup.
15:39It's an A tier.
15:41We have our sweet and sour dip.
15:43A tier sauce.
15:45Mustard.
15:46I'll put a little ketchup and mustard on the same tier.
15:50I just realized I have really no strong opinions about sauces here.
15:53We have our sweet curry sauce.
15:56British people, we love our curry.
15:58This, for me, is a sensational sauce.
16:02Mayonnaise.
16:03I like mayo on stuff, but I definitely don't like dip my fries in or anything, so mayo's fine.
16:08Just straight up mayo?
16:10Yeah, sure.
16:11Sure.
16:12We'll put, you know, why not?
16:13Let's put mayo B.
16:14A little too fattening for me.
16:15Now, we have two barbecue sauce options in the UK.
16:18This one is just our standard barbecue dip.
16:21It's a little bit sweet for my liking.
16:24Sweet and sour, yeah.
16:26It's just sweet and, those are two flavors, but what is it made up of, right?
16:30Is it supposed to be a certain fruit or something that's, like, sour?
16:33Do we know?
16:34Whatever it is, it's great.
16:35Sweet and sour, come on, S tier.
16:37Love dipping my nugs in the sweet and sour.
16:40Then we have a few slightly fancier sauce options here in the UK.
16:43You have to pay for these, whereas these ones are free.
16:46I do think, broadly speaking, you are getting quality for your money.
16:49So I think, for me, the smoky barbecue is probably, like, a nice B-tier sauce.
16:53Honey mustard?
16:54No!
16:55I'm gonna go sunny mustard D-tier.
16:58But honey, on the other hand, I mean, shout out to the bees and possibly hornets that make the honey.
17:04I don't know, I know bees make honey.
17:06Do other, do hornets and wasps make honey as well?
17:08No, they don't, do they?
17:09Shout out to bees and only bees.
17:11My honey's, everything's good.
17:13The sour cream and chive dip.
17:15This one is really good, pairs well with a lot of things on the menu.
17:18Again, particularly, like, chicken dippers or chicken tenders, but also with the fries, kind of with anything.
17:23Like, you can just dunk a bit of your beef burger in that and you'll have a good time.
17:26So...
17:30I'm gonna give this the first kind of, like, hybrid ranking of the day.
17:34I think that's somewhere between S and A tier for me.
17:37This country is obsessed with ranch.
17:40It's, I don't know, mayo with onion powder in it, I guess?
17:43God, what would I use ranch on, on a McDonald's menu?
17:46Nuggets? No.
17:47It's a C.
17:49Spicy buffalo, though.
17:51Yeah.
17:52That's also gonna be a B list, or an A list, excuse me.
17:57Mmm.
17:58And then last but not least, with the premium dips, we have a sweet chili dip option.
18:02It's really great.
18:03Brits, again, sweet chili dip is something that we just really seem to love as a country.
18:07A tier sauce.
18:08I don't know what region of barbecue the McDonald's barbecue is aiming for.
18:13It might be my go-to for dipping my nugs.
18:16We're gonna put that firmly in the S tier.
18:20McDonald's doesn't really seem to miss with its sauces.
18:23I think the worst one is barbecue, but then even then you have a better barbecue sauce that is actually really tasty.
18:28So, I will say, one request, and I don't know why they don't do this.
18:32Why is there no mayo on the McDonald's menu?
18:34I've tried the American sauces and none of them really jumped out to me,
18:37but I think Joe had some pretty strong reactions to the UK one.
18:39So, Joe, do you want to try these again?
18:43Ah, thank you, Harold.
18:46You guys, for sauces, look at this cups compared to what we have.
18:50The curry dip?
18:51I think this was something from Exchange.
18:53I'm like, man, they need to have this in the U.S.
18:55Ooh, okay.
18:56This is very good.
18:58Yeah, we got nothing like this at McDonald's or even most fast food in America.
19:03The sweet curry dip.
19:04Might be your best dip, UK.
19:06But, yeah, love the UK sauces.
19:08You guys, your McDonald's sauces are very good.
19:11Thanks, Harry.
19:13Now we're onto the exclusives, which are things that you can only find in the U.S. or the UK.
19:18And we'll start with the burgers.
19:19Now, unfortunately, they forgot it today, but on the UK menu, we have a triple cheeseburger option.
19:24I think this one overdoes it.
19:25Yeah, I think you get a bit of a bell curve with the single and the triple.
19:28So you start off with the single, doubles the peak, and then you go back down.
19:33This actually, I think, goes into B tier.
19:35A quarter pounder with cheese, with bacon.
19:38I mean, look at this, bacon's just falling out of this thing.
19:41Adding bacon to it makes it even more fantastic.
19:44We're gonna be putting it in the S tier. Let's go!
19:47S tier, yeah!
19:48Of course, right?
19:49We also have a bacon double cheeseburger.
19:52Now, Joe has had a lot of strong opinions on UK fast food bacon over the years.
19:57And I gotta say, I kind of agree with him.
19:59You're maybe not getting that kind of like quite as rich red color as you're used to in the U.S.
20:05Also, just texturally, it's cut very thin and it does go quite floppy.
20:10I've also, the flavor's pretty good.
20:11In the UK, we smoke our bacon with beechwood.
20:13Again, I think this is probably B tier, although a slightly higher B tier than some of the others there.
20:18It's still a good burger.
20:20Sticking with the quarter pounder with cheeses, this one is a quarter pounder with cheese deluxe.
20:26And no!
20:28It betrays the core concept of the quarter pounder with cheese.
20:33I'm gonna be putting this low B.
20:37Still a quarter pounder with cheese, which is fantastic, but all this junk in here, I don't want this.
20:41The McPlant.
20:42It was pretty big news when this dropped on the UK menus around a year or two ago.
20:47They claim that was because they didn't really like any of the other options on the market.
20:50So they actually spent quite a long time developing the burger and also the cheese on it as well.
20:55The vegan cheese.
20:56I'm actually not 100% sure where to rate this one.
20:58I'm gonna give it a quick try.
21:01I do think it does a good job.
21:03Honestly, like as far as fast food veggie options go, there is definitely like something missing.
21:09It does miss a bit of flavor.
21:11I don't like the fact that they put tomato in that.
21:13They don't really do that with many burgers on the UK menu.
21:15All in all, I think the McPlant is probably like, I'd say probably like a middling strong B tier burger.
21:23I actually think removing the tomato would push that maybe into like a low A tier.
21:28Something that I am a little bit perplexed by, the McDouble.
21:33From what I can tell, this is a double cheeseburger with less cheese.
21:40Right?
21:41A nuance that I didn't think people wanted.
21:46Am I getting this correctly here?
21:48However, we've discovered today, at least I've discovered today, that they're doing half the cheese on Filet-O-Fish.
21:54So maybe cheese is more expensive than we thought and they're just looking to save cheese where they can.
22:00You know, I was gonna do B, but actually I'm putting it down to C.
22:04I never want less cheese.
22:06I'm never concerned with the cheese amount of anything I'm eating.
22:09Certainly at McDonald's.
22:10Then we have the Veggie Deluxe.
22:13I don't know what is deluxe about this burger.
22:17I'm gonna be honest.
22:18You have a bun, lettuce, mayo, and then two of their veggie dippers.
22:24These are terrible.
22:27These really suck.
22:28It's like a few different beans and vegetables and herbs mixed up with like a pesto type sauce.
22:34That's another eater.
22:37I'm sorry to the Vegetable Deluxe.
22:40Actually, I'm not very sorry.
22:41It's bad.
22:44Here are the chicken options you'll find in the UK, but not in the US.
22:47Starting with the humble mayo chicken.
22:50Now, as I mentioned earlier, I think the McChicken is kind of pointless.
22:54I think partly that is because we have a mayo chicken on the menu, which does exactly the same thing.
23:00I still don't think it's a great sandwich.
23:02It's very much like I might get this in addition to my meal if I'm really hungry.
23:06So I think for that reason, it's like a middle C tier.
23:11You can also get a mayo chicken with bacon.
23:14In the case of the mayo chicken, paying the extra like 20, 30p for bacon is actually kind of worth it.
23:21I'm tempted to go B tier, but I think that would be overrating it.
23:24I think that might be like a B slash C.
23:29We only have two exclusive chicken menu items compared to the UK.
23:33And actually, they are just deluxe versions of the McCrispy options.
23:37This one, they went ahead and added just a ridiculous amount of lettuce and mayo.
23:43Do I hate vegetables so much that I'd put in the C tier?
23:47Eh, I guess I could B tier it.
23:50Useless veggies.
23:51And again, they did it to my boy, the McCrispy.
23:54All right, so at least we got the McCrispy Deluxe.
23:56So let me confirm this is great.
23:58I confirm my stance.
24:01The spicy McCrispy is fantastic.
24:03Oh, boy.
24:04Well, we put junk on it.
24:07I think by virtue, just adding a lot of lettuce and tomato to a sandwich that doesn't need it
24:11automatically bumps it down one tier, one whole tier.
24:14So that one.
24:16Next up, we have chicken selects.
24:18One benefit of ordering these is that they come with the fancy dips kind of included.
24:22As far as chicken options go, isn't quite as comforting or as iconic as a chicken nugget.
24:27So they're not going to be S tier for me.
24:29But I do feel pretty comfortable putting these in a tier.
24:33Then in the UK, we have chicken wrap options.
24:38We have a sweet chili chicken wrap.
24:42I'm going to try them all before I put them on the board.
24:45I think of the three, my favorite is probably the Caesar.
24:54I still think that's only going to be a C tier.
24:58The sweet chili, which can also go into C tier.
25:02For me, the barbecue wrap is down in detail.
25:07And for the vegetarians, we also have a wrap option.
25:11It's the veggie dippers.
25:13And you know how I feel about those.
25:15A nice eat here.
25:18Eat here there.
25:20We also have two salad options here in the UK.
25:29I've never seen anyone order either of these in my entire life.
25:32Why are they still on the menu?
25:34One more thing to note is that with all of the chicken options, instead of crispy, you can opt for grilled chicken.
25:39If you do that, just see where I've ranked the crispy options and lower them all by two stages.
25:44So it's like somewhere like down here below the table for the salads.
25:51Here are the sides you'll find in the UK, but not in the US.
25:54Depending on the season, there's usually some kind of fried cheese option.
25:57Right now, the ones that we have are these cheesy garlic bites.
26:00They don't smell super garlicky.
26:06Probably going to be like C tier for me.
26:09Pineapple stick.
26:12This has kind of become like the default Happy Meal side.
26:15When I was younger, I used to get like an apple slices and grapes fruit bag.
26:19But it seems to have been replaced with pineapple, which I think is kind of an upgrade.
26:22I like pineapple. It's tasty.
26:27A decent B tier, actually.
26:28You put pineapple above fries.
26:31Yeah.
26:32I think the way that they've executed the pineapple versus the way they execute fries.
26:36Yeah, I stand by that.
26:38Uh, exclusive sides in the US.
26:41I am surprised to learn we only have one.
26:45Apple slices.
26:46I got to judge apple slices.
26:50It's taking something that grows on a tree, cutting it up, and sticking it in a plastic bag.
26:55Here's the thing about this.
26:56They're apple slices.
26:58They're nice.
26:59They're sweet.
27:00They taste like apples.
27:01How's that for insight?
27:03Um, I just don't know what I'm doing.
27:06Yeah, I don't know.
27:07I don't care about apple slices.
27:08Ah, we'll go D.
27:09Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
27:13That's right, apples.
27:15Nice try. Come back when you're covered in cheese.
27:18Then we have a side salad, which just, it's just sad.
27:21It's just sad.
27:22It just makes me sad.
27:23I love the fact that with the side salad, they've literally just given like one piece of tomato.
27:29It's another eater.
27:30Bit of a theme here.
27:31I promise I'm not deliberately targeting the veggie options.
27:33I think they just executed them really badly.
27:37Pineapple's veggie and I put that high.
27:39The veggie dippers.
27:40They're back again.
27:41They're mushy, but also like a bit grainy.
27:43They're kind of like the filling is this kind of like veggie paste.
27:46And it's just, does not feel good in your mouth.
27:49And it's sort of like peace offering to the veggie dippers.
27:54On their own, I'm going to, I'm going to put them in like D tier.
27:58They're still quite low D tier.
28:00But with the caveat that you get them fresh out the fryer and you drown them in curry sauce.
28:07They actually might be okay.
28:11Here are the exclusive breakfast items from the UK.
28:14I'm going to kind of speed through these because ultimately they are just different combinations of cheese, egg, bacon, sausage and bread.
28:20First up, we have the mighty muffin.
28:22This is a fairly new addition actually to the menu, but it's basically just all of the things on a muffin.
28:27So you get sausage, bacon and an egg.
28:30I think this is really good.
28:32I like not having to choose between sausage and bacon.
28:35Sometimes you just want both and that's fine.
28:37For me, the mighty muffin is actually going to go into Ata.
28:40We got the biscuit sandwiches and my boys, the McGriddles.
28:45All the way down to the end here is the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit.
28:49Let's get a look at that right there, huh?
28:50Let's get a look at that right there.
28:51It's a lot lighter than it looks.
28:52It looks dense, but it's actually a bit pillowy.
28:54And, you know, I love McDonald's bacon.
28:59The bacon and a sausage is fantastic.
29:01Taste-wise, fantastic.
29:03But the dry biscuit delivery system certainly injects something, some sort of moisture into these biscuits, but they haven't.
29:10So for that, I'm only going to give it, only going to put it in the A tier.
29:13Next up, we have the breakfast roll.
29:15It's the same ingredients as the mighty muffin.
29:17So you have the sausage, the bacon, the egg and the cheese, but this time it's on this floured bread roll instead of an English muffin.
29:23I think it's pretty good.
29:24I think in general, I prefer the muffins to the rolls at McDonald's.
29:28So for me, it's going to take a slight downgrade.
29:31It's going to be a beater.
29:32Now, this I have an issue with.
29:34I do really like McDonald's sausage, but it's just a biscuit and sausage.
29:40You have to eat one of these the way that those competitive hot dog eaters eat hot dogs.
29:45You really got to, like, dip it in water and then just shove it in your mouth in order to eat it at a normal rate because it's just so dry.
29:51You've been chewing this thing for hours.
29:53I don't like it.
29:54It's almost inedible.
29:57D, baby, D.
29:59Next up, we have the bacon roll.
30:01This does exactly what it says in the tin.
30:04It's okay.
30:05I just don't think that McDonald's does the best bacon.
30:08It can be a little bit dry.
30:09I think in general, this one's just a bit plain and basic.
30:12So I'm actually going to put it in detail.
30:14If you want a good bacon roll, go to a cafe.
30:16Don't go to McDonald's.
30:17And then one step up, they added egg to this one, which, you know, makes it a little bit easier to eat, a little bit softer.
30:24I still think with the egg, I mean, that's still putting us in a sea territory.
30:29The next two are double options.
30:32We have the double bacon and egg McMuffin and the double sausage and egg McMuffin.
30:35I'm actually kind of surprised to see these as UK exclusives.
30:38I really thought that excess was something that America did well.
30:41So I'm surprised that they're not on the US menu.
30:43I'm sure maybe if you ask for an extra patty, they would do it for you.
30:46But in the UK, these are official menu items.
30:49Is double bacon just like two pieces of bacon?
30:52Kind of underwhelmed by that, to be honest.
30:55Suffering from a similar issue to the bacon roll in that the bacon itself just isn't that good.
31:00I think it's actually going to be C tier, you know?
31:03It doesn't really do it for me.
31:05I know I was like, oh, I love these, but turns out actually I only like one of them.
31:09Now we move on to the McGriddles.
31:11You know them.
31:12You love them.
31:13I love them.
31:14Now the beauty about this is, unlike my pancakes or hotcakes from earlier, this has syrup already in it.
31:19So it's nice syrupy pancakes with the bacon, egg, and cheese.
31:27Come on.
31:28Come on.
31:29I think this is the best breakfast sandwich McDonald's has to offer.
31:33It's going S tier.
31:35Yeah.
31:36However, we're bringing it back with the double sausage and egg McMuffin.
31:40This is kind of like the archetypal breakfast sandwich.
31:44Nowhere else really does this in the UK.
31:46I think McDonald's breakfast in the UK is kind of in a tier of its own compared to other fast food chains.
31:50So for me, this is it.
31:53This is way up in S tier.
31:56Someone at the McDonald's organization, I don't know.
32:01Someone over there is just like, guys, I got an idea.
32:05Sausage patty and bread and nothing else.
32:08And everyone's like, okay, geez.
32:10Of all the only sausage-only breakfast sandwich options you get at McDonald's, this is definitely the best one.
32:15It makes it, it's the most edible.
32:18It's the least dry.
32:19If I had to get a sausage sandwich, I would get the McGriddle one.
32:22I'm going to give this, I'm going to go B.
32:25Yeah.
32:26Actually, no.
32:29I'm going C.
32:31But a higher C.
32:32It's a higher C than this one.
32:33It's almost a B, but not really.
32:35A muffin with jam.
32:38Exactly what it sounds like.
32:39Toasted muffin with some, I think, some butter on there.
32:42And a little sachet of jam.
32:45I think if I wanted a nice sweet or pastry-based breakfast, McDonald's is probably not the place I'm going to.
32:52So I think for me, it's going to be good here.
32:55Cheese and egg.
32:56Yes.
32:57Very good.
32:58Now we're adding a little bit more of a robust flavor, some variety to my breakfast sandwich.
33:05Yeah.
33:07That's not as good as the bacon one, but it's pretty close.
33:11Give it an A.
33:13Flat, oh, where's the cheesy flatbread bull .
33:16Next up, we have another thing that I'm slightly confused as to why it's still on the menu.
33:21It's the cheesy bacon flatbread.
33:25There was like a bit of a flatbread craze in the UK quite a while ago now,
33:30where I think like flatbreads were seen as quite a good like diet healthy option.
33:36But it's just a bit miserable, really.
33:39Again, I don't think I've ever seen anyone order one of these.
33:41I certainly have never ordered one of these.
33:43So for me, that's a whiff.
33:46And that is going in A tier.
33:49Not done with breakfast.
33:52We still have more exclusive items to go through.
33:55Starting down here, we got the big breakfast and the big breakfast with hot cakes.
34:00I just feel that this whole thing is, is not that great.
34:04C tier for all of these.
34:06Ooh, here and here.
34:10I'm going to be straight up.
34:11There's something about this burrito that they have on the menu.
34:16They've had this on the menu forever.
34:19I love this thing.
34:20And more importantly, don't sleep on McDonald's Mexican style salsa.
34:25It is fantastic.
34:27I know it's a puree.
34:29It's probably mass produced, but low-level heat.
34:38It just extends the flavor.
34:40Guys, I love the McDonald's breakfast burrito.
34:44I'm going to put this breakfast burrito S tier.
34:49Believe it.
34:50Go ahead with your comments.
34:52I'm not reading them.
34:53This thing's fantastic.
34:54End of story.
34:55And then finally, we have a pretty classic, actually, British breakfast item on the menu at McDonald's.
35:01Porridge.
35:04Americans, you might know this is oatmeal.
35:06You can get it with sugar.
35:07You can get it with golden syrup or with jam.
35:10This might surprise some people, but I have actually been known to order porridge from McDonald's.
35:15Porridge might go B tier, you know?
35:18Anyway, yeah, it's oatmeal.
35:21And it comes with diced apple, which, by the way, does have the skin.
35:26So clearly they have apples with skin on it.
35:28And these cranberries and raisins.
35:35Everything with fruits down here.
35:38I'm surprised that he put the porridge and the B tier.
35:40I don't know what the difference between that and oatmeal is, but it's like the last thing I'm getting at McDonald's.
35:44I don't want it.
35:45Could have maybe been E tier, but I'm feeling generous today.
35:48I cannot believe you put the sausage burrito there.
35:51It does not look good at all.
35:52S tier, really?
35:53Come on, man.
35:54You're losing our credibility here.
35:58What is a Malteser?
35:59It's like malt.
36:00It's malt.
36:01But what is malt?
36:03It's malted barley.
36:04How does it get that, like, crunchy honeycomy texture?
36:07You know?
36:08They tease it.
36:09Yeah.
36:12And finally, we have some desserts you'll find in the UK, but not the US.
36:15Firstly, we have a couple of McFlurry options.
36:17The dairy milk McFlurry is actually going to be, I think, A tier as well.
36:22With the Smartie McFlurry, I think they get small versions of Smarties and then kind of, like, smash them up and then stir them into the ice cream.
36:29This is what I would, like, get if I wanted a dessert from McDonald's as a child.
36:34I feel like I've fallen out of love with Smarties a bit, which is kind of sad, but I've grown up.
36:39It's a natural consequence of the passage of time.
36:42I think probably a C tier.
36:45And then our other exclusive is a Maltesers McFlurry.
36:48I still don't fully understand what Maltesers are.
36:51As far as I'm aware, malt is a thing.
36:53So you have malt as the flavor and that's kind of like flavoring a biscuit and you have the biscuit in the middle and then it's covered in milk chocolate.
37:00They're called Whoppers.
37:01Whoppers?
37:02What?
37:03Malted milk bowls.
37:04I've never heard of that in my life.
37:06Yeah.
37:07Apparently in America you have Whoppers, which are similar to this.
37:11So I think I'm gonna find some room for this, like, over here.
37:16We've really printed these way too big.
37:19Apparently we have one exclusive McFlurry right here.
37:24It was exclusive for the thing pretty much melted.
37:27It is the M&M McFlurry.
37:30I'll throw this along with the Oreo.
37:33I'll put in the beet here.
37:34Put it over here.
37:35Then we have a few other dessert options, which also kind of fit under the McCafe brand.
37:39We'll start with this one, which is a triple chocolate cookie.
37:42A lot of our cookies will be quite brittle.
37:44Don't have much of a chew to them.
37:46But this is actually pretty good.
37:48It's good, but I still don't think it's something I would regularly order.
37:52We'll squeeze that into beet here as well.
37:55They have ice cream, obviously, at McDonald's.
37:59Including this, the vanilla soft-serve cone.
38:02Look, I got this food three hours ago.
38:07This thing was gonna get destroyed before we got here.
38:09And I couldn't do it first, because we gotta do this in order.
38:11So as classic as this, I never want this.
38:13I never want a vanilla cone.
38:15It's boring. It's just vanilla.
38:17Eh. Boring. Get it out of here.
38:20Then we have a mixed berry muffin.
38:22Not sure which of the berries have been mixed into this exactly.
38:26It's got a little, like, sort of jammy center to it there.
38:30Looks pretty good.
38:31That looked a lot better than it actually ended up tasting.
38:34Yeah, that's not great.
38:36That's a nice D-tier muffin.
38:39Hot fudge sundae?
38:41I mean, it's the fudge, right?
38:44I feel like this hasn't changed in 40 years.
38:48However long it's been there.
38:50It always tastes the same.
38:51I mean, this is the picture they're giving us on the website.
38:54It has never looked like this.
38:57It's a classic. It's delicious.
38:59A-tier. A-tier for it.
39:02But if I was to get a dessert at McDonald's,
39:06I'd probably be more inclined to get this than, like, a McFlurry.
39:08I really enjoy this.
39:10I'm going to go ahead and put that S-tier.
39:12Maybe I'll get it with my breakfast.
39:14Next up, we have a chocolate brownie.
39:16I don't think I've ever tried the McDonald's chocolate brownie before.
39:19Obviously, I know what brownies look like
39:20and I know what I want from a good chocolate brownie.
39:26And that's not it.
39:29Mmm.
39:34Eat.
39:36Bad brownie. Bad brownie.
39:37Lastly, they got, um, McCafe chocolate chip cookies.
39:41Right?
39:42It's a chocolate chip cookie, I guess.
39:46Wouldn't think I'd ever get it.
39:47I don't hate it. It's just whatever.
39:49Boom.
39:51And finally, we have this one,
39:52which is a toffee apple doughnut.
39:54Pleasantly surprised by that.
39:55You actually get this, like, apple sauce
39:58kind of piped throughout the doughnut,
40:02which is quite nice.
40:03The icing is very sweet.
40:04It's the toffee icing.
40:05It's not amazing, but we'll squeeze that into C-tier, I think.
40:14I think, overall, I'm pretty happy with my rankings.
40:16I've been pretty selective with S-tier,
40:17but I think you're supposed to be, you know?
40:19I only want to reserve that for the best of the best.
40:21The division between the S-tier and the A-tier,
40:23for me, now that I look at it like this,
40:25is a little surprising.
40:26I know it's opinion-based,
40:28and I was just taking a bite of each thing,
40:29one of the other,
40:30which is not how you eat at McDonald's.
40:32More likely, when you go to a place like McDonald's,
40:34is I'm hungry and I'm in the mood for blank.
40:37I have put a few things in the D and E tier.
40:39Obviously, a few of these are the kind of veggie or salad options,
40:43which I think, just in general, fast food chains do struggle with,
40:46so I think that's to be expected.
40:48I didn't realize till now that I didn't do anything in E,
40:50so that's to say that there's nothing in the McDonald's menu
40:52that I absolutely hate or would never want to try.
40:56Everything is at least just okay.
40:58As far as my tastes are concerned,
41:00McDonald's has something at every tier,
41:03which is, I think, a reflection of a good, well-balanced menu.
41:07I don't mean well-balanced as far as nutrition and health.
41:10There's literally something for everyone.
41:13I know there's going to be a lot of you out there
41:14who disagree with me on this, so I want to hear it.
41:16Let me know in the comments if you think I've rated things
41:17too harshly or too highly.
41:19I want to know what you think is my worst take,
41:21what did I do, and where would you put it?
41:23And, yeah, but overall, I'm pretty happy with this.
41:31Tier lists have been popular for a while.
41:33I'm sure most of you watching this being like,
41:35tier lists? Why now? Why not?
