MyArcade's Atari Gamestation Go lets you bring the full Atari experience with you on the go, complete with original controls thanks to its built-in paddle and keypad. Then you can plug it in to your TV and connect retro controllers or even an Xbox or PS5 controller to play Pong, Space Invaders, Pac-Man and loads of other arcade classics on the big screen. We went hands-on at CES 2025 to check it out

00:00I'm checking out the new Atari GameStation Go from My Arcade.
00:05This is a complete Atari arcade experience in a handheld,
00:10but you can also connect it to your TV.
00:12If you flip it up top here, you have HDMI out, you plug that right in,
00:16and then you have a kickstand, so you can set up on a table,
00:20and with these USB-C ports, you can plug in My Arcade's retro controllers
00:25or any modern controller you want.
00:27Yeah, you can plug in an Xbox or a PlayStation controller in here
00:30if you're more comfortable using that,
00:32and just dive right into all those nostalgic games.
00:35We have triggers, bumpers, we have our home button, volume,
00:40and we charge via USB-C.
00:43There's a micro SD slot, you know, you can put a card in there to save your games.
00:47So the paddle is for games like Night Driver, it's for Breakout, Super Breakout.
00:51Your directional pad is normal.
00:53Then your trackball is for Centipede and Millipede and Missile Command.
00:56It's for the original kind of arcade games.
00:58And again, we wanted to enhance what we did last year,
01:00so we added the trackball as well as the number pad.
01:02So what I really like about this is,
01:04if you don't know how, you know, which controls you're supposed to use
01:07with the game you're playing,
01:09My Arcade has come up with a way where the controls you need light up.
01:13So you see here, I'm playing Breakout, and with this one you use the paddle
01:17and the A button to start, you know, when you need a new ball.
01:22You know exactly what controls you're going to need right from the lights on the console.
01:26It really feels like a more comfortable and lighter version of the Wii U gamepad.
01:30I love the big screen, you know, it's easy to see.
01:35Could be great for kids too.
01:37And speaking of kids, what I really like about this is, you know,
01:40you have one device and you can kind of introduce your kids to the whole history of Atari,
01:46all those arcade games.
01:48They didn't grow up playing, and maybe you didn't either,
01:51but you can kind of go down video game memory lane with just one device,
01:55and you can plug it right into your TV, so the whole family can enjoy it.
01:59So, the GameStation Go is going to cost $149, and it'll be available in Q3 later this year.
02:05This is something I'd love to get at home to test out by myself with my son,
02:11and, you know, since it's coming out later in the year,
02:14would make a really good Christmas present.
02:17For more great CS coverage, follow us everywhere at Tom's Guide.
02:20And I'll catch you in the next one.
