L'Oreal is one of Kate's favorite stops at CES every year, and at CES 2025, the beauty tech innovator brought a new skin-analysis system called the L'Oreal Cell BioPrint. Developed in partnership with Korean company NanoEnTek, this system tests for biological markers via the proteins in your skin micro-fluidics. It determines your skin's biological age, and how likely you are to experience different skin problems in the future. But the best part? It develops a brand-new skincare routine for you to follow! Watch the full video to see Kate's results and the types of skincare ingredients she'll be buying when she gets home from the show.

00:00I think we can all agree that it is simply too hard to establish an effective skincare routine that you feel confident is actually working for you.
00:08L'Oreal identified that as a problem, and as a company that has done tons of innovations in the beauty tech space, at CES 2025, we have something new.
00:18It's called the L'Oreal Cell Bioprint, and it was developed in partnership with a Korean company called Nano & Tech.
00:24L'Oreal is the only company that's using the technology that's specifically meant to identify your skin biomarkers to tell you signs of aging.
00:33So let's actually go check out what it does.
00:37So the first thing we're going to do is capture a little skin sample with our little sticker.
00:42Okay.
00:43Okay, so it goes right here.
00:46And it's pulling the skin cells off of my cheek.
00:49The dead skin cells that are on the outer, that are right on top of your skin.
00:52I'm a little terrified to see what the tape looks like, honestly.
00:55You've never had, like, tape on your skin?
00:56You've seen this before.
00:58It's tape.
00:59So we rest that one there.
01:01So this tape is pulling the dead skin cells off the top layer of my skin, and the proteins are going to be extracted through the microfluidics technology to then give me my skin analysis.
01:14How cool.
01:15Finally, insert it into the solution that does a lot of the, what's called lysing work, of getting the proteins, you know, they're stuck in the cell compartments.
01:26We really need to get them out and isolate them.
01:28So that's a special fluid for isolating the proteins?
01:31Yes.
01:35So there's two of them inside there, that path you see, are microfluidic channels.
01:41So those are etched.
01:41They're so small, it's using similar technology that you use to etch, like, computer chips.
01:45And because they're so small, they can guide the exact right fluid in the exact right place for analysis that they get read.
01:51So these testing chips are identifying from my skin sample the five protein markers that are actually going to give me the biomarkers and analysis that I want to see from my skin.
02:02This is so cool.
02:04While the protein analysis is happening to give me more of, like, a scientific look at my skin, we're actually going to be able to take a visual look, too, with this tool that's reading my inner cheek.
02:15I'm dying to know.
02:17So we're inserting the first cartridge now where it's actually going to measure the levels of the proteins.
02:29And it's ready.
02:30Tests have completed.
02:31We're just going to ask you for your age.
02:34Fingers crossed I'm putting my chronological age in here and that my biological age will be close and even better.
02:42It will show you what are your concerns that you have today.
02:55And because you're in Las Vegas, your dryness is very high.
02:57So dry.
02:57I feel it.
02:58But you have a medium level of concern of dryness in the future.
03:02So it's not as high as where it is today.
03:05What this will do is it will tell you where you are today and which ones are the concerns that you should really look at more for the future.
03:12And then you will see your analysis of your current wrinkles and then what proteins we measured.
03:18And it will give you some advice not only on the product, but we'll also show you the actives.
03:23Retinol, vitamin C, proxene.
03:24These are three of the most effective ingredients for wrinkles.
03:27And then we will also be able to see if you're a responder to some of these ingredients.
03:32And you are.
03:33You are a high level responder to retinol, which means that if you use the retinol, it will work well for your skin.
03:39In five minutes or seven minutes, you will have, you know, really information to guide you for the future.
03:44And you can come back in six months and three months and test again what your current aging and your future aging signs are
03:51and continue to stop guessing on your skin care.
03:56Wait, I'm so excited about this.
03:57So in just a matter of minutes, I now have a full overview of my skin based on the biological markers
04:06and the proteins that were extracted from the sample that we just demoed.
04:10I'm very excited to report that my biological age is two years younger than my actual age.
04:15I think it's all the sunscreen that I wear.
04:16SPF, guys, it's very important.
04:18Well, now it looks like when I get home from CES 2025, I'll have a new skin care routine to look into.
04:25But before then, make sure you check out all of our videos from the show.
04:28You're not going to want to miss a thing, so make sure you're subscribed.
04:31Let me know if this is the type of skin care solution that you think the tech market has been missing.
04:36I know I'm really excited to see what happens with this in the future.
04:40For now, that's it from me.
04:42Thanks for watching.
04:42I'll catch you next time.
04:48Bye-bye.
04:50Bye-bye.
04:50Bye-bye.
04:51Bye-bye.
04:52See you next time.
04:57Bye-bye.
