00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most
00:08extraordinary competitive eaters who can gobble down a lot of food in a
00:12little amount of time. Number 10, Eric Badlands Booker. 15 burritos in 8
00:22minutes, 2 pounds of chocolate candy bars in 6 minutes. That's just to name a
00:26couple of Badlands Booker's seven world records, recognized by the organization
00:31known as Major League Eating. But that's not all. The man can chug larger amounts
00:39and in quicker fashion than you can imagine. For instance, he set a world
00:43record of 23.08 seconds to chug a gallon of lemonade at the Nathan's Famous Chug
00:49Contest in 2023. Be sure to check out his YouTube channel, Badlands Chugs. There,
00:54you can see him do the dew by chugging a glass filled with every type of
00:57Mountain Dew he could find. Also a rapper and subway conductor, the lively Badlands
01:02Booker is simply built differently from the rest of us.
01:04Number 9, Gideon Oji. An ex-college basketball player at Clayton State, Oji holds
01:16the title for champion of arguably the healthiest food in the competitive
01:19eating game, kale. In 2016, he dunked on his competitive eater opponents by devouring a record
01:3425 and a half bowls of kale in 8 minutes. And even after all those leafy greens, he said
01:39he was still hungry. Oji might even be able to take down Popeye in a spinach
01:47eating contest. Besides greens, the 6 foot 9 athlete also has a few top 10 finishes at
01:53the iconic Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island.
01:57Number 8, Takeru Kobayashi. This Japanese eater, who's been called the godfather of competitive
02:11eating, was the cream of the crop for a while in the 2000s.
02:14He won an impressive 6 straight 4th of July Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest from
02:242001 to 2006. That's until someone else, who's also on this list, knocked him off in 2007.
02:31In 1st place, with 66 hot dogs and buns, Joey Justin!
02:37That year, Kobayashi actually ate more hot dogs and buns than he had ever eaten previously
02:45at the contest. 63. Although his hot dog record was broken, he still has 3 world records standing,
02:5241 lobster rolls in 10 minutes, 20 pounds of rice balls in 30 minutes, and 57 cow brains
02:57in 15 minutes. Yes, you heard that last one correctly.
03:01Number 7, Sonia Thomas. A record holder of over 20 various eating feats, Sonia Thomas is a legend
03:17in the eating world. Sonia Thomas is one of the greatest competitive eaters of all time.
03:22The key to her success, a strict diet and exercise, saving binges for the stage.
03:2880, yes 80 chicken nuggets in 5 minutes. 4 pounds and 14.25 ounces of fruitcake in 10 minutes.
03:37Jambalaya anyone? 9 pounds in 10 minutes.
03:41Thomas, a South Korean-born American, set the tone for female competitive eaters in many ways.
03:46She won the first ever Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest for women in 2011.
03:50Sonia, how do you feel it, baby?
03:58She then munched her way to victory again the following two years. The thinly-built champion
04:07has explained that she pays attention to her diet and values exercise, but when competition
04:12time comes around, it's her mental approach, she explains, that allows her to devour the
04:16food and her competition.
04:17Number 6, Patrick Bertoletti. He's the jalapeno-eating champion of the world, with a record of 275
04:30jalapenos in 8 minutes.
04:31And the winner is P.T. Pat Bertoletti!
04:37But Bertoletti's track record extends way beyond that. He's tasted sweet victory in many sugary
04:42food contests. 72 cupcakes in 6 minutes, 9.17 pounds of blueberry pie in 8 minutes, 10.8
04:49pounds of key lime pie in 8 minutes.
04:57When Agent K said, we need pie, we don't think he meant that much. Oh yeah, and Bertoletti
05:01once ate 38 Mars bars in 5 minutes. We could go on and on. The Chicago native has set many
05:07world records that can make your jaw hit the floor.
05:10I have records, and if you name the food, I've probably eaten it, and it's a lot of
05:14weird, just random foods.
05:15Number 5, Jeffrey Esper. You could call him the Wing King. Jeffrey Esper wolfed down an
05:20unfathomable 281 wings in 10 minutes at the Hooters World Wing Eating Championship in 2019.
05:27Your champion of the world is...
05:31Jeffrey Esper!
05:33Ladies and gentlemen!
05:35He's also a high school teacher, so his life involves a lot of lessons. He teaches his
05:39students' lessons, and he teaches his eating competitors' lessons.
05:43I'm able to compete at a pretty high level still at it, so it's just fun for me.
05:47That includes when he ate a record 95 2-ounce tamales in 10 minutes, 344 Jack's donut holes
05:53in 8 minutes, and 17 3-quarter bagels with cream cheese in 8 minutes. Esper has set a
05:59total of 20 eating records so far, and you can catch him on his YouTube channel, at Jeff Esper,
06:04where he puts his next-level food eating prowess on display.
06:07Super simple challenge today. All I have is beef stew over rice.
06:14Number 4, Miki Sudo. She won 9 out of the 10 women's Nathan's famous hot dog eating contest
06:20between 2014 and 2023.
06:22The number 1 ranked female eater in the world. The number 3 ranked eater in the world overall.
06:29The 8-time Nathan's famous champion of the world, ladies and gentlemen, Miki Sudo!
06:37The one year she didn't win during that time span was when she was pregnant and didn't participate.
06:42So as long as Miki Sudo shows up, you better watch out. Her personal best, and the all-time best for all
06:48women, is a whopping 48 and a half hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.
06:53Unbelievable accomplishment from Miki here today. Beautiful stuff.
06:59Also among her multitude of records is 16 and a half pints of vanilla ice cream in 6 minutes,
07:04and 8 and a half pounds of kimchi in 6 minutes. Sudo is unquestionably the top female competitive
07:10eater in the game. I mean, I love all types of food, really, but Nathan's famous international
07:15hot dog eating contest has a special place in my heart, obviously, for the hardware that I've been
07:20fortunate enough to collect, you know, over the last few years.
07:23Number 3, Matt Stoney. With 62 hot dogs and buns at the famous July 4th event in 2015,
07:29Stoney defeated the most dominant competitive eater of all time.
07:32And 15, Nathan's famous 4th of July champion of the world, Matthew Stoney!
07:40The Californian phenomenon holds 15 eating world records, and has amassed more than 16 million
07:45subscribers on YouTube. His resume includes an unparalleled 85 moon pies in 8 minutes,
07:51255 peeps in 5 minutes, 182 bacon strips in 5 minutes, and 10 pounds of spaghetti with sauce
07:58in 8 minutes. Don't forget, I'm the spaghetti eating champion of the world.
08:01As for his motivation, Stoney once said that he's always been really competitive,
08:05and that food is something everyone can relate to.
08:08We normal human beings can't relate to being able to eat like this guy, though.
08:114,925 calories of burgers, nuggets, fries, and tangy barbecue sauce.
08:20Today's challenge is simple, eat this all as fast as possible.
08:24Number 2, Adam Moran. Some people, including Adam Beard himself, call him Beard Meets Food.
08:30I feel pretty fresh, feel pretty good. No excuse for today, he's gonna give it my all.
08:35That's his name on YouTube, where you watch the competitive eater put himself to the test,
08:39with a wide range of food extravaganzas. He travels with his big beard to all sorts of restaurants,
08:44where he engulfs massive sums of food. With more than 3 million subscribers,
08:49it's evident that many are hungry for Moran's content.
08:52I don't think this is gonna be any problem.
08:56Famous last words.
08:57In 2019, he cracked the top 10 at the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest.
09:02Beard Meets Food is the number one eater in the UK, and number one in all of Europe,
09:07according to the major league eating rankings.
09:09Are you feeling okay, man? Are you okay? You eat all that, and now you're eating breakfast?
09:13I'm alright, man. I'm alright.
09:14Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
09:18Nick Weary, because he ate a world record 188 pistachios in 8 minutes.
09:23His first major league eating championship victory, Nick Weary!
09:29Michelle Lesko, because she won the 2021 Women's Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Contest.
09:34The new champion of the world from Tucson, Arizona,
09:40with 30 and 3 quarters Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs in buns, Michelle Lesko!
09:49Max Suzuki, because he's the best eater in Japan, and he ate 42 and a half hot dogs in 10 minutes.

10:38The champion of the world, Joey Chestnut!
10:44His personal best, and of course, world record best, was an unbelievable 76 hot dogs and buns back in 2021.
10:52And that's not the only food he's been known to chowdow on. 23 6-inch Philly cheesesteaks in 10 minutes,
10:575.9 pounds of funnel cake in 10 minutes, 81 waffles in 8 minutes, and that's just to name a few.
11:03The pace is unbelievable, he just keeps driving it.
11:06The list of ways in which Chestnut has stamped his name in the history books
11:10is nothing short of remarkable. As of 2023, he holds 55 world records.
11:15Joey Chestnut is the GOAT. Hands down, forks down, spoons down.
11:19This is not an easy challenge, and I'm not doing it just for me, I'm doing it for you.
