00:00It all started innocently enough, with my only child who was five, claiming to see the Easter
00:16Bunny hopping around the house at night. At first, I brushed it off as a child's overreactive
00:21imagination, but she was insistent, describing in vivid detail how she'd seen a large shadowy
00:27figure with long ears moving stealthily through the house.
00:32I chalked it up to a recurring dream, or perhaps a trick in the moonlight casting strange shadows,
00:37but then things started to get even stranger. Each morning, I would wake up to find subtle
00:42but unsettling changes in the house, furniture rearranged, items misplaced, and faint traces
00:49of dirt and grass scattered across the floor. I tried to rationalize it away, blaming on
00:55forgetfulness or sleepwalking, but deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that something
01:00else was at play. As my daughter's claim of seeing the Easter Bunny grew more frequent
01:04and detailed, my unease only intensified. One night, unable to shake the feeling of dread,
01:12I decided to stay up and keep watch, determined to uncover the truth behind my daughter's
01:16sightings and the mysterious changes in the house. As the hours passed, I waited in silence,
01:22my senses on high alert, waiting to catch any sign of movement or disturbance. Then, just
01:30as I was beginning to doubt my decision, I heard it. A faint click coming from the back
01:36door. My heart pounded in my chest as I crept towards the door. Slowly, I turned the handle,
01:42opening the door just a crack. What I saw next was horrifying in the moment. There, standing
01:49just outside the door, was a man dressed in all white clothes. Without hesitation, I slammed
01:54the door shut and locked it. My hands shook with adrenaline.
01:57As I peered through the window, I watched as the freak sprinted into the darkness, disappearing
02:04into the forest beyond our backyard. I put on the security bar on the front and back door,
02:09as well as making sure all doors and windows were locked. After a sleepless night, the next
02:14morning I surveyed the backyard, only finding a dirty Easter Bunny ears headband lying abandoned
02:20on the ground. I did end up filing the report to the police, but this Easter will mark a year
02:25since the incident with no real updates from police. As a single father, I fear that they
02:30might come back this Easter, but I've added more security measures since. I still have
02:35no explanation for who they were or why this happened, but I hope it's over.
02:40It started like any other holiday, excitedly hunting for Easter eggs in the large backyard
02:54outside for a family event we had every year. But as darkness settled in, I found myself alone
03:00in the dimly lit yard. The thrill of the hunt came to an end, and I started to walk back.
03:06Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching from behind, heavy and deliberate. Before I could
03:13turn around, a hand clamped down on my arm, pulling me back with a force that left me
03:17breathless. My heart pounded in my chest as I struggled against the grip. My mind was racing
03:22with fear and confusion. I screamed for help, but my voice seemed to vanish, still trying my
03:27hardest to break free. The stranger's intentions became painfully clear as they dragged me towards
03:32a waiting car. Parked at the edge of the yard, its engine idling.
03:39Desperation clawed at me as I fought against the stranger's hold, my fingers digging into
03:43the ground as I tried to anchor myself in place. But the stranger's strength was overpowering,
03:48their determination unwavering as they inched closer to the car, while their face was covered
03:53by the night. Just when I thought all hope was lost, a voice broke my struggle. It was my parents,
04:00as I raced towards as I remember their faces showed so much fear and determination.
04:05They reached us just in time, tearing me from the stranger's grasp and pulling me into their
04:09protection. Unfortunately, the car sped away into the darkness. My parents called the police
04:14while reassuring me I was safe, and how sorry they were for almost losing me. In the aftermath,
04:20we followed a report once the police arrived, but the stranger was never caught. To this
04:25day, the memory of that terrifying Easter night makes me think about the kind of people
04:29who lurk around, even on holidays.
04:32It was Easter weekend, and I found myself scheduled for the security night shift at the mall.
04:47As I arrived at the deserted parking lot, I couldn't shake off the eerie feeling in the
04:51air. The usual commotion of the mall during the day was replaced by an unsettling silence,
04:56broken only by the occasional sound of my footsteps echoing against the empty storefronts. I made
05:02my way to the security office, flicking on the dim overhead lights as I entered. The monitors
05:08lined the walls, displaying the various surveillance feeds from around the mall. Everything seemed
05:14quiet and uneventful at first glance, but I knew better than to let my guard down. As the night went
05:19on, I patrolled the corridors and empty hallways. As I walked, I kept finding those plastic Easter eggs
05:25you'd get candy in as a kid. Only the ones I found scattered were empty, but when I began getting
05:31more creeped out was when I started to catch glimpses of movement on the monitors, and I began hearing
05:36faint noises coming from somewhere in the mall. Each time, my heart would skip a beat, my hand
05:41instinctively reaching for the walkie-talkie at my hip. Hours passed, but I couldn't shake off the
05:47feeling of being watched, as if someone, or something, was lurking in the darkness, just out of sight.
05:53Then, just as the clock struck midnight, I saw him, a shadowy figure moving stealthily through the
06:01corridors on one of the monitors. My heart raced as I ran to where I'd seen him, but the figure
06:06vanished into the darkness, leaving behind an unsettling sense of dread. For a while,
06:12I continued to search the mall, my senses on high alert, but the intruder seemed to have vanished
06:17without a trace. As the first light of dawn began to filter through the windows, I breathed a sigh of
06:22relief, knowing that this eastern nightshed was coming to an end. But as I made my way back to
06:29the security office to clock out, a chill ran down my spine. Etched into the frosted glass of the mall
06:35exit was an eerie message, and in that moment, I knew that whatever or whoever had been watching me
06:56that night was going to be back eventually, and he was. While that was my last experience myself,
07:02several of my co-workers claimed to have seen the same man lurking through the mall at night,
07:08only to find no one. I'm glad this year I'll be spending Easter with my family.
