Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by four wickets in IPL 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on April 30. Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. Chennai Super Kings were off to a poor start as they lost both their openers early. Ravindra Jadeja (17) also departed after a quick cameo. When they looked in trouble, Dewald Brevis (32) and Sam Curran (88) stitched a steady partnership of 78 runs. After Brevis was dismissed by Azmatullah Omarzai, Sam Curran accelerated and by the time he was dismissed by Marco Jansen, the duo set up Super Kings for a big score. But in the 19th over Yuzvendra Chahal (4/32) scalped a hat-trick and picked a total of four wickets to derail the innings of Super Kings. Super Kings were bowled out for only 190. Chasing it, Punjab Kings got off to a steady start and after Khaleel Ahmed dismissed Priyansh Arya (23), Shreyas Iyer (72) and Prabhsimran Singh (54) controlled the chase. Despite Prabhsimran's dismissal to Noor Ahmad, Shashank Singh (23) and Shreyas kept attacking and made sure despite a late panic, Kings go over the finishing line. This is the sixth victory for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 and eighth loss for Chennai Super Kings.
