00:00Let's talk a little bit about his comments about Donald Trump in his victory speech.
00:05He accused him of trying to break Canada.
00:08Do you think he will try and meet with the U.S. president?
00:13Of course. And I think it would be against everything Mark Carney has showed himself to be if he were not to meet with President Trump.
00:20But here's the thing. 78 percent, almost 80 percent of Canada's trade goes to the U.S.
00:25The only reason there was a trade deficit was because we sell them a lot of energy.
00:30And I think it would be really outside of what Canadians are expecting if he doesn't meet with Trump.
00:37You know, he ran one of the most anti-American campaigns in Canada's history.
00:41But we all want a good deal. You know, we all have friends and family that live in the U.S.
00:45Canada and the U.S. are and remain extremely economically integrated.
00:49And Mark Carney's idea of a good deal is really going to sort of push him over the line for a lot of Canadians.
00:55And advocating for Canada, Canadian businesses, the rights of Canadians, Canadian sovereignty are all going to be big things.
01:03And all those things need a deal. Mark Carney is going to be leading the G7 later this year.
01:07And when those meetings happen with other major world economies, which Mark Carney is familiar with, I think, of course, he's going to be able to meet with Donald Trump.
