00:00Good morning everyone. My name is Chris Benji. I'm the station manager with Avon Fire and Rescue.
00:05So we were called to Lancaster Road this morning just before 7 o'clock to reports of an explosion and a fire in the cul-de-sac.
00:14So Avon Fire and Rescue made a swift response.
00:17At the height of this incident we had 9 fire engines plus a turntable ladder and supporting agencies including Ambulance, Hart and Police.
00:29So there was an explosion in one of the properties in the cul-de-sac. We swiftly dealt with the fire and the incident is still ongoing at the moment.
00:41There were three casualties who have non-life-threatening injuries and received medical treatment at the scene and have now gone to the hospital.
00:51So to conclude this incident there will be full investigation in due time between ourselves, the police and the utility companies that have taken some action to mitigate the scene behind us.
01:05How fortunate are the people who survived this?
01:08Very lucky I would think. Reports of an explosion and there was an explosion in the building. There were two people in that property at the time. So we think they're very lucky.
01:19And they were talking to us, explaining what happened and are now seeking further medical attention in the hospital.
01:26Can you tell us how many people have been evacuated from the local area?
01:30Yes, several properties within the cul-de-sac have been evacuated. All the neighbouring adjacent buildings have been evacuated for public safety.
01:38The gas and the electric have been isolated to the buildings behind us and will remain that case until it's safe for people to return.
01:47Do you have any idea when that will be?
01:49So we're working with the utility companies, police and the ambulance to get everybody back in their homes as quickly as we can.
02:17We're a few hours. We're working with a whole family house not necessarily everywhere.
02:23We're working with a city center. We're working with a city center. We're working with a city center for our city center.
02:27We are working with a city center to build a city center and a city center to build a city center.
02:34So we've had several vacations for them in the Débara.
