00:00Kim Kardashian and the armed robbery trial going down in Paris, and one of the-
00:05It is something to see.
00:06One of the grandpa robbers, as they're being called, taking the stand and admitting that he has regrets.
00:15Eunice Abbas is 71 years old now, and when-
00:19This trial has been going on for so long, delayed so long, he wrote a book already.
00:24He wrote a book where he's confessed to this.
00:26In the book, he's confessed to authorities, but he has to go through the process here.
00:30And it seems like maybe he's hoping to get a reduced sentence, because his testimony was that he's had time to think about this.
00:38He says, I have regrets.
00:40Before, I didn't.
00:42It opened my eyes.
00:43I have discovered there's trauma behind it.
00:45So he's talking about the trauma now.
00:47So what he's saying is, look, I'm copying to this.
00:49But before, in the book, what he said was, Kim spends way too much.
00:55It kind of said she had it coming.
00:57And she said it had it coming.
00:58I mean, that was his point of view in the book.
01:01He was like Robin Hood.
01:02Right.
01:02The way he saw it, she was throwing away a bunch of money, so why not take some?
01:07Now, one of the things that he talked about on the stand is the bumbling part of this crime.
01:13Even though they made it off for nearly $10 million in jewels, he admits that he was, during the getaway, dropped a $24,000 necklace and didn't go back to get it.
01:25I remember when they found that.
01:27Yeah.
01:27Yeah, that was him.
01:29Yeah, that was him.
01:31This is just crazy.
01:32So she's going to testify May 13th.
01:35So she's traveling to Paris, and she's going to tell the jury.
01:39Unusual to have a jury in these cases, but there is one.
01:42She will tell the jury exactly what she went through.
01:47And there will be tears because it was unbelievably traumatic for Kim.
01:52I mean, she thought she was a goner.
01:54I think this will be fascinating, what she says on the stand, and I think it will tie into what Eunice did.
01:58This guy Eunice Abbas, by taking responsibility and feeling guilt over it, sort of meshes with Kim's devotion of a lot of her life to prison reform.
02:06People who have actually changed their ways.
02:08You could see him, you could see her maybe on the stand urging a later sentence for him and not the ones who haven't taken responsibility.
02:14I don't think that she will, but I do agree with Derek that Eunice is probably aware of that stance with Kim.
02:20Now, she says she believes in that when people go into prison that they can be reformed.
02:27This guy hasn't done any time.
02:29He's not been in prison.
02:31The guy wrote a book saying she deserved it.
02:33Right.
02:33He wrote a book, and now he's on the stand.
02:36Look, maybe he's being truthful.
02:39She is not going to say that.
02:40Seems to me like he's.
02:41People change, Harvey, and he's expressing remorse.
02:44He's saying he was poor.
02:45Kim devoted a lot of her life to people who have been in adverse circumstances.
02:49He said he had no male role model.
02:50He grew up impoverished.
02:52No, I know.
02:52She's going to be sympathetic to some of those things.
02:54Well, I don't know that.
02:55Look, she doesn't get a say in it anyway.
02:56She doesn't get a say in it.
02:57Right.
02:57They're going to ask her what happened.
02:59It's not what do you think should happen to them.
03:01Right.
03:01They're going to ask what happened to you.
03:03Right, Derek?
03:05You're absolutely right, but she's a powerful boy.
03:07Wow.
03:08Basic law.
03:08That was a lawyer challenge if ever I heard one.
03:11You're 100% right this is in the hands of the jury and the judge, but she is the victim, right?
03:15So if she says, I think this guy is not necessarily the one to blame, go with the ones who aren't
03:20taking responsibility, maybe it has some sway.
03:22Go with the other 75, 80-something-year-olds.
03:25Hey, Derek, Yale must be proud, you know?
03:28I do them proud every day here.
