00:00Former Prime Minister Datuk Shri Ismail Sabri Yaacob is expected to return to the Malaysian
00:06Anti-Corruption Commission, MACC, on Monday to provide further testimony in an ongoing
00:12corruption and money-laundering investigation.
00:15According to sources, the Bera MP will have his statement recorded for the fourth time
00:20following his asset declaration.
00:23Investigators will continue gathering evidence until they are satisfied with the explanations
00:27and documentation provided.
00:30Sinar Harian quoted a source on Sunday, stating that the MACC has yet to determine when the
00:36statement-taking process will be completed, as several key documents still require verification.
00:42The source declined to comment on whether Ismail Sabri will be detained, but confirmed
00:47that the MACC will continue recording his statement.
00:50On March 3, the MACC named Ismail Sabri as a suspect in its investigation, after authorities
00:57discovered approximately 170 million ringgit in cash at a safe house during a raid conducted
01:03by his team.
01:05The agency also reportedly seized 13 bank accounts containing over 2 million ringgit
01:10as part of the probe.
01:12To date, the MACC has recorded statements from 36 witnesses in connection with the case.
