00:01:42Who set the pink city alight.
00:02:12During the night of 28th, 29th, Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked small firing and this happened across the line of actual control in areas opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts.
00:02:24In the Aqdur sector also, there were some instances of ceasefire violations being done by the Pakistani army.
00:02:31The Indian army has responded in a measured and ineffective manner to this provocation.
00:02:37My colleague Shivani Sharma is now joining me on the story.
00:02:39Shivani, we have seen over the past few days, unprovoked firing has been happening from the Pakistani side.
00:02:45Indian army has been giving a befitting response to it.
00:02:48Ashwarya, this is the fifth continuous night when Pakistan has provoked to this particular ceasefire violation by firing small arms.
00:03:00And yesterday night, Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the line of control in areas opposite to Kupwara, Baramulla and Aqnur sector too.
00:03:10And even before that, it has been doing the similar pattern every night and Indian army has been giving a befitting response to this particular provoked firing.
00:03:21So, this is what is the panic of the Pakistani army where it has been resorting to such unprovoked firing incidents every night.
00:03:31And this continues after the Pahlgam attack.
00:03:38Right.
00:03:39Shivani, please stay on with me.
00:03:40We have got some more news coming in with regards to what Pakistan's reaction has been.
00:03:51Now, after India's major water strike on Pakistan, there are the alarm bells that have gone off in Islamabad.
00:04:01Pakistani Prime Minister Shaibas Sharif has now chaired an emergency meeting of the Council of the Common Interest.
00:04:08Decisions are being taken with regards to water management infrastructure across Pakistan.
00:04:14Visuals that you are seeing on your screens are coming in.
00:04:16That is the Pakistani Prime Minister, Shaibas Sharif, who is now chaired an emergency meeting of the Council of Common Interest.
00:04:23They are now deciding to form a committee so that water management infrastructure across Pakistan can be looked at.
00:04:32My colleague Shivani is still with me on the story.
00:04:34Shivani, we have seen how Pakistan is actually spooked.
00:04:37They do not know what to do.
00:04:38Emergency meetings after meetings are taking place.
00:04:41Aishwarya, Pakistan is in a huddle, especially after the CCS decided to put the Treaty of Indus Valley in abeyance.
00:04:49And it has been conducting a number of meetings every day.
00:04:53We have seen that these huddles are happening in Pakistan.
00:04:56On the other hand, we also see a lot of action happening from Pakistan's army.
00:05:00Ceasefire violations happening there.
00:05:02And now Shaibas Sharif, he has chaired another meeting after the NSC meeting they had held last week.
00:05:09So, they are actually disturbed even after the Indian government has just announced that this treaty will be put in abeyance.
00:05:18Officially after that, no action has been taken.
00:05:20But there have been reports that the water levels in Jhelum River have suddenly increased that are impacting the people out there in Pakistan.
00:05:28So, they are actually worried and they are trembling with fear of any response that Indian government is preparing for.
00:05:37So, this is a 360-degree fear response in Pakistan where they are seen being holding meetings
00:05:44and also giving statements that are actually very irrelevant kind of statements that are being given by not only the ministers out there,
00:05:54but the people like cricketers and all.
00:05:56Right, Shivani, please stay on with me.
00:05:59We have got some more news coming in with regards to what is happening in Pakistan.
00:06:03Pakistan looking at forming a kamiji so that water management across Pakistan can be done.
00:06:09Now, Pakistan actually is extremely rattled after India's display of the combat might.
00:06:14The Air Force in Pakistan is fearing that there will be very swift retaliation from the Indian side.
00:06:19And from the Netas to the forces, everyone appears to be spooked.
00:06:23In fact, the Pakistani Defence Minister Khwaja Asif said that India's military incursion into Pakistan is imminent,
00:06:29adding that more troops have now been reinforced by the Pakistani army at the border.
00:06:34In a more visible proof of Pakistan being rattled, the Pakistani Air Force is conducting drills
00:06:38and has closed Lahore to Islamabad's airspace.
00:06:42High-intensity combat patrols are also underway.
00:06:45India is also stepping up the preparedness.
00:06:46Defence Minister has beefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on all the latest security developments that are taking place.
00:06:53Indian forces are also carrying out intensive military drills.
00:06:56Khwaja Asif's remark come just days after a series of Pakistani leaders have provoked among India-Pakistan tensions.
00:07:03They are saying blood will flow in the Indus.
00:07:06Also saying that Pakistan's 3-130 nukes are not for show.
00:07:16We've got breaking news that is coming in.
00:07:22At least seven people were killed in a blast during a meeting of a local peace committee
00:07:26that was taking place in Waziristan.
00:07:30The explosion caused a portion of the building where the meeting was taking place to collapse.
00:07:34The police officer said that it is not clear who's behind this attack.
00:07:38This is a blast that took place at Pakistan's south Waziristan area.
00:07:44My colleague Shivani is still with me on the story.
00:07:46Shivani, the big question is, no one understands clearly who behind this attack is.
00:07:51A part of the building collapsed when this peace meeting was taking place.
00:07:54Aishwaja, this was a blast at a peace meeting in Pakistan's south Waziristan where seven people have been reportedly killed.
00:08:05The police has informed about this incident.
00:08:07But who is behind this attack, that's not clear.
00:08:12No responsibility has been taken.
00:08:14But what we've seen is that there have been a number of terror attacks in Pakistan itself.
00:08:19Because the terrorists that Pakistan had been harboring are now actually targeting the forces in Pakistan.
00:08:28And this also includes the Baloch rebels.
00:08:31So we've seen that in the past few months there have been a lot of chaos in Pakistan.
00:08:36But this particular blast that has happened in south Waziristan,
00:08:40it's not yet clear who was behind this blast.
00:08:44But seven people have lost their lives in this.
00:08:46Right, thank you Shivani.
00:08:49Seven people have lost their lives in this blast that has taken place in Pakistan.
00:08:53Seven killed in the blast.
00:08:54There was a local peace meeting that was taking place.
00:09:02Now with each passing day, there are more videos that are coming to light
00:09:06with regards to the Pahalgam terror attack.
00:09:08India Today in fact has accessed new video.
00:09:11This is from the 22nd of April in the Pahalgam terror attack.
00:09:14Now there was a tourist who was riding a zipline over the Baisaran Valley,
00:09:18unknowingly filmed the horror in real time.
00:09:21Disturbing visuals show the zipliners were suspended in the air
00:09:24and one could hear the chants of Allahu Akbar.
00:09:27This was followed by multiple gunshots.
00:09:29Post this, there was panic that was spread amongst the tourists.
00:09:32According to the eyewitness, Rishi Bhatt, who's a survivor,
00:09:35the zipliner operator allegedly chanted Allahu Akbar before the gunfire erupted.
00:09:40Before the claim, couples were asked their religion and some of them were forced to decide
00:09:44the kalma at gunpoint.
00:09:45The National Investigative Agency has detained the zipline operator
00:09:48for further questioning in this case.
00:09:50When you recollect what happened, what can you tell us, Rishi?
00:09:55What happened that day?
00:09:56When I was in the zipline, I was at the top first firing.
00:10:00And after 20 seconds, I got to know that the firing is down and people are dying.
00:10:07So, as I reached down, I saw that my wife in front of me,
00:10:11two people asked religion and killed the gun.
00:10:14and died a few of them.
00:10:15I shot it out of the way that England went and killed them.
00:10:16That is a very final warning thing.
00:10:17How did you find them inside the airway?
00:10:19and that he started talking about religion,
00:10:21and then I shot him.
00:10:24What did you do?
00:10:25Yes, did you do you do a Hindu or a Muslim?
00:10:29What is it?
00:10:30So, people were doing what they were going,
00:10:33then people tried to ask them.
00:10:34And then, I stayed away from the distance,
00:10:35and I got to leave the zipline,
00:10:37and then, I started to take my wife and my children,
00:10:39and my children started running from there and we got out of there and then we got a spot
00:10:46that was a blind spot because it was completely open and we could be locked in open ground so
00:10:53we saw that we were closed there and then we saw that already 3-4 people were closed there
00:11:00so we were closed there and around 8 to 10 minutes we started running from there
00:11:06okay, when you started running from there, what did you think about how many people were going to do that?
00:11:13where did you go? how many people were going to do that?
00:11:18if you remember that, if you remember that, what did you think about your mind?
00:11:24first of thing, there were two people in the ground who were all in religion who were going to do that
00:11:32Now a team of the National Investigative Agency
00:11:54is recording the statements of the families of the victims
00:11:57and the survivors from this terror attack.
00:11:59The NIA seeks to piece together the sequence of events
00:12:02and to gather more information with regards to the terrorists.
00:12:06In fact, India today has accessed the line of questioning
00:12:08that will be done by the NIA.
00:12:10The agencies are asking eyewitnesses,
00:12:12when did you go to Kashmir and what time did you reach?
00:12:16Where were you when the terrorists arrived?
00:12:19The language, what was the language that they spoke when they came in?
00:12:22Did you notice any marks on their faces?
00:12:24Did you see the weapons that they were carrying?
00:12:27What did they look like?
00:12:28Did they speak with you at any point?
00:12:30Did you respond to them in any way?
00:12:32Questions were also asked about their facial features, appearance and clothing.
00:12:38So that is what the NIA at the moment is looking at.
00:12:41Statements of the survivors are now being taken by the NIA.
00:12:45They are piecing together all the evidence to bring out a clear picture.
00:12:48There is also politics, unfortunately, that is now erupting with regards to the 22nd April terror attack.
00:12:55Two Congress leaders have Pakistan claims, despite Congress saying that it supports the center.
00:13:01Leaders are now saying what Pakistan did.
00:13:03In some way, they are backing that, despite the Congress very clearly coming out and saying
00:13:07that they are supporting the central government and unitedly standing behind India.
00:13:11These remarks have triggered a massive uproar in political circles.
00:13:15Congress leader, SOS, has backed Pakistani terrorists, saying if Pakistan claims that they don't have any role in the terror attack,
00:13:21then we should take their word for it.
00:13:23Congress leader, Vijay Betiwar, also has said that two terrorists are caught red-handed rather than twisting the narrative.
00:13:29Sources have told India today, Congress has now issued a gag order on all the leaders.
00:13:34They have been asked not to make any comment,
00:13:37and the CWC resolution in party's official stand on the Pahalgaam attack will be the statement that will come from the Congress party.
00:13:44Amid all this criticism, it is the Congress President Malik Arjun Kharge pushed against questions on Congress's patriotism,
00:13:51stating Indra and Rajiv sacrificed their lives for India.
00:13:59Congress lead to a political policy wheniling their actions of this government and the政hing will emerge inside the way from the government vont going through as a witness.
00:14:26Congress has no need.
00:14:29Akhleesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, Sidhar Amayya, Tejaswui Yadav,
00:14:38all these people are like, when someone is in the States or in the States,
00:14:49they are standing with the same people.
00:14:52Congress has no need to stand with the ISI.
00:14:55Congress has no need to stand with the other
00:15:25foreign
00:15:32foreign
00:15:37foreign
00:15:46On the 22nd of April in the scenic Baisaran Meadow, Hindus were specifically targeted.
00:16:05While survivors still recount the chilling stories, some of the Congress leaders still
00:16:09continue to downplay the terror attack and they have seen openly backing Pakistan and
00:16:14the terrorists. As the BJP ceases on these controversial comments, the moot question everyone is asking,
00:16:21shouldn't politicians put aside all the differences and stand united against terrorism?
00:16:38It's not even been a week since Pakistani terrorists killed 26 tourists in Kashmir's
00:16:44Pehlgaam. Every survivor had the same horror story to tell.
00:16:51Non-Hindos were specifically targeted.
00:17:14But some Congress Netas still choose to believe that this hunting of Hindus by terrorists couldn't
00:17:21be possible.
00:17:22It's not because of all the terrorists who don't want to ask us, we have to ask them
00:17:27to try and respond to our views.
00:17:28This is the only thing they say.
00:17:30People say it isn't.
00:17:33People say it is done.
00:17:34Don't do it.
00:17:36Don't do it.
00:17:37The terrorists don't have any suffered.
00:17:39Don't do it.
00:17:41Then there was veteran Congress leader Saifuddin Sohs who was more worried about the fate of Pakistan.
00:18:05Whatever the condition, whatever the situation on surface, dialogue and discussion has to take place.
00:18:16So many countries of the world can help us. Even the Security Council, even the United Nations, they will help us to open the dialogue and discussion.
00:18:24Pakistan can be told clearly that you can't have it. You can't have it both ways.
00:18:32Karnataka Chief Minister also triggered outrage.
00:18:36The back-to-back statements by Congress leaders provided fresh ammunition to the BJP.
00:19:06Karnataka Chief Minister has said that the people of the people, the families, the people of the family are telling this truth.
00:19:13They are telling this truth.
00:19:15But these who are the leaders of the world, that means the leader of opposition,
00:19:25they are telling this truth.
00:19:32The height of insensitivity.
00:19:34Karnataka Chief Minister
00:19:37
00:20:06The Congress has distanced itself from the controversial comments of its netas.
00:20:29What we have said, there have been security lapses, there have been intelligence failures.
00:20:35However, we need unity, we need solidarity, we need a collective will, we need a collective response and we need constant communication between the government and the opposition.
00:20:51At a time when India is seething and demanding action against Pakistan and its terror proxies, shouldn't the country's politicians unite?
00:21:03Bureau Report, India Today.
00:21:05Do nothing hate, do nothing hate.
00:21:12New shares coming in at the moment.
00:21:17It is former cricketer Sheikhar Dhawan who is now hit out at Shahid Afridhi.
00:21:22It is Sheikhar Dhawan who said don't stoop to new lows.
00:21:25We are proud of our Indian army.
00:21:27Now this in response to when Shahid Afridi said
00:21:32Where was the Indian army when the attack took place?
00:21:35Afridi has said army arrived an hour late and then later blamed Pakistan
00:21:39We are now seeing Shikhar Dhawan
00:21:41Who has given a befitting response to Shahid Afridi
00:21:44Shikhar Dhawan in his response has said
00:21:45Don't stoop to newer lows, we are proud of our Indian army
00:21:48It was Shahid Afridi who had said
00:21:51Where was the Indian army?
00:21:52The Indian army arrived an hour late on the scene
00:21:55Where the attack took place and now both the Indian army
00:21:58And the Indian government are blaming Pakistan for this terror attack
00:22:01Let's listen in to what Shikhar Dhawan said
00:22:05Let's listen in to what Shahid Afridi said
00:22:08Let's listen in to what Shahid Afridi said
00:22:14Let's listen in to what Shahid Afridi said
00:22:16I mean that
00:22:23My colleague Shivani Shurma is now joining me on the story.
00:22:50Shivani, we just heard what Shahid Afridi had said. He, in fact, is pointing fingers at the Indian Army.
00:23:20He has tagged Shahid Afridi and he said that
00:23:24So this is a bivoting response, a reply that Shrikhar Dhawan has now given to these comments that had come yesterday from Shahid Afridi, where he had questioned the Indian Army.
00:23:40So now Shrikhar Dhawan has given out and lashed out at Shahid Afridi and the kind of comments we are getting from Pakistan's critters, from Pakistan's ministers, they are once again showing how rattled Pakistan remains after the Pahalgam attack and India's responses.
00:23:56Thank you, Shivani, for giving us all those details.
00:24:00At the moment, one thing is very, very clear.
00:24:02The entire Pakistani army and the government is spooked.
00:24:06And Shrikhar Dhawan giving a befitting reply to Shahid Afridi, who said that it was the Indian Army that arrived late, but Indians are now blaming Pakistan for the terror attack.
00:24:14Now, at the moment, what we are witnessing is massive anti-Pakistan uprising in Baluchistan and also in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
00:24:26There are protests that are erupting across the entire area.
00:24:30Locals are rallying against Pakistan's exploitative mineral policies and the oppressive presence of the Pakistani army.
00:24:36The unrest is now highlighting deep-seated anger over the economic condition and the military control in these areas.
00:24:43The public is rising.
00:24:45Intelligence inputs are revealing Pakistani army is vacating known terror launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in an apparent move that India has already identified 42 of these sites.
00:24:56Terrorists are now reportedly being shifted to army-controlled bunkers and shelters, raising questions about the role of the military under General Asim Muneer.
00:25:04These developments expose the growing internal rift and increasing pressure on Pakistani army, both from within the country and even globally.
00:25:13These are the questions that a lot of people ask when you were young.
00:25:16What were you doing when you were barely 14?
00:25:18Let me guess.
00:25:19You were making plans with friends, worrying about your homework, even planning your next vacation with your parents.
00:25:25Those are likely to be some of the things that come to your mind when you think about what you were doing when you were 14.
00:25:30But you have to meet Bebhav Suryvanshi, the latest IPL sensation, and he's the youngest to score the IPL century.
00:25:37It gets even better.
00:25:38He has now become the fastest ever in IPL history.
00:25:41Take a look.
00:25:42There have been plenty of special knocks in the IPL over the years, but only a few have brought the nation together.
00:25:57When a 14-year-old sent the ball flying over mid-wicket, the entire country rejoiced.
00:26:03A hundred of just 35 balls.
00:26:09It's the 14-year-old boy.
00:26:11After all, they'd witnessed something special.
00:26:14There had been nobody younger than Bebhav Suryvanshi to smash an IPL century before.
00:26:20The proud record of being the youngest to score an IPL turn belonged to Manish Pandey previously,
00:26:45but even he was five years older than Bebhav when he reached the three-digit mark.
00:26:52Rishabh Pant was 20 when he registered the magical number.
00:26:58Those who saw him bat will forever remember the manner in which the runs came of Bebhav's bat.
00:27:05His stroke-making was audacious and his approach was fearless,
00:27:09as even someone with a hundred test matches was not spared by the youngster.
00:27:15His blistering knock now occupies the second spot on the list of fastest stuns scored in the history of the competition.
00:27:26Only Chris Gale's 30-ball century was scored faster than his.
00:27:32Even the legendary Sachin Tendulkar was full of praise for him.
00:27:36According to him, it was Bebhav's bat speed and transfer of energy behind the ball
00:27:40that were the key to his success.
00:27:43For a tournament that has unearthed plenty of talented cricketers,
00:27:49Bebhav Suryawanchi is turning out to be the crown jewel of this edition.
00:27:54Sports Bureau, India Today.
00:27:56We've got some breaking news coming in at this moment.
00:28:07It is India that has lambasted Pakistan at the United Nations over the attack that took place in Kashmir.
00:28:14In a statement, India said Pakistan is a rogue state.
00:28:17It fuels global terrorism.
00:28:19Pakistan misuses international forums to spread propaganda.
00:28:22Pakistan also spread baseless allegations against India.
00:28:27This is a stern statement given in by India at the United Nations.
00:28:31This over the attack that took place in Kashmir.
00:28:35India in a statement has said Pakistan is a rogue state.
00:28:38It fuels global terrorism.
00:28:40It is unfortunate that one particular delegation has chosen to misuse and undermine this forum
00:28:55to indulge in propaganda and make baseless allegations against India.
00:28:59The whole world has heard Pakistan's Defense Minister Khwaja Asif admitting and confessing
00:29:07Pakistan's history of supporting, training and funding terrorist organizations in a recent television interview.
00:29:15This open confession surprises no one
00:29:18and exposes Pakistan as a rogue state fueling global terrorism and destabilizing the region.
00:29:25The world can no longer turn a blind eye.
00:29:30I have nothing further to add.
00:29:33Our Foreign Affairs editor, Geeta Mohan, joining me on the story now.
00:29:36Geeta, we just heard Yojana Patel at the UN slamming Pakistan over the terror attack.
00:29:41Well, that's right.
00:29:44This was an event organized on counterterrorism and sure enough Pakistan raising issues with India
00:29:53and the Indian side coming out and reminding Pakistan that it is not India that is the problem,
00:29:59that it is Pakistan which is a rogue state and has fueled terrorism.
00:30:03Not only did she speak about Pakistan supporting and abetting terrorism
00:30:09and that there is false propaganda that Pakistan spreads,
00:30:13but also cited Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif's recent interview
00:30:17in which he admitted to Pakistan supporting terrorism
00:30:20when he said that Pakistan has been doing the dirty work for the U.S. and the West for the past three decades.
00:30:27So this is an open admission by Pakistan Defense Minister nonetheless.
00:30:31And Yojana Patel, India's deputy envoy to the UN,
00:30:37citing that as also reminding Pakistan of how it has time and again fueled global terrorism.
00:30:46Thank you, Geeta.
00:30:47Geeta Mohan, Foreign Affairs editor, also saying that this was a platform where global terrorism was being discussed.
00:30:52India gave a befitting response to Pakistan.
00:30:55In fact, earlier Pakistani Defense Minister Khwaja Asif admitted
00:31:00that they are the ones that are backing terrorism.
00:31:03Listen in.
00:31:05You do admit, sir, that Pakistan has had a long history of backing and supporting and training
00:31:11and funding these terrorist organizations.
00:31:14Well, we have been doing this dirty work for the United States for about three decades, you know,
00:31:21and West, including Britain.
00:31:26So that's your argument that...
00:31:29No, that was a mistake.
00:31:32And we suffered for that.
00:31:33And that is why you are saying this to me.
00:31:37If we had not joined the war against Soviet Union and later on the war after 9-11,
00:31:44this Pakistan's track record, you know, was not, you know, an unimpeachable track record.
00:31:52Now, it is Pakistan that is rattled after India's display of its combative might.
00:31:59The Air Force in Pakistan is fearing that there will be massive retaliation.
00:32:02And from the leaders to the forces, everyone appears to be spooked.
00:32:06In fact, Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif chaired an emergency meeting,
00:32:10decided to make sure that they now somehow respond to India's water strike.
00:32:14Pakistani Defense Minister Khwaja Asif said that India's military incursion into Pakistan is imminent,
00:32:19adding that more troops will now be sent from the Pakistani side at the border.
00:32:25In a more visible proof that Pakistan is indeed very rattled,
00:32:28the Pakistan Air Force is now conducting multiple drills
00:32:31and they have even closed the Lahore to Islamabad airspace.
00:32:34There's high-intensive combat patrols which are also underway.
00:32:38India is also stepping up the preparedness.
00:32:40Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has already briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi
00:32:43with regards to all the latest security developments.
00:32:46Indian forces have also started carrying out intensive military drills.
00:32:50It is Khwaja Asif's remark that come just days after a series of Pakistani leaders
00:32:55said that India-Pakistan tensions are now high.
00:32:58They are saying blood will flow in Indus
00:33:00and they are also saying that Pakistan's 130 nukes are not just for show.
00:33:05There is a likelihood that India will attempt an incursion in Pakistan
00:33:13and will engage Pakistan militarily.
00:33:18That is a possibility, a very clear and stark possibility.
00:33:25It cannot be ruled out.
00:33:26The possibility cannot be ruled out.
00:33:30You just heard, Pakistani Defence Minister.
00:33:33In Pakistan, we are seeing that there is a lot of tension at the moment.
00:33:37They are rattled, they are spooked, they do not know what to do.
00:33:40But one thing that we have seen Pakistan doing
00:33:42is that on their side of the border, the military reinforcements are being done.
00:33:47Pakistan at the moment has also started making statements.
00:33:51They in fact came out and said that they now want neutral investigation to take place.
00:33:55Pakistan is rattled.
00:33:58Lahore Islamabad airspace is not operational.
00:34:01In fact, two air warfare exercises are being conducted by the Pakistani Air Force.
00:34:06The air defence at the moment is now taking place.
00:34:10Drills, high-intensity combat air petrol forces are taking place.
00:34:14Fighter jets can be seen.
00:34:16Support aircraft are also being involved in this.
00:34:19So this is what Pakistan is doing at the moment,
00:34:21preparing itself and statements are also being given out.
00:34:23They are saying that an incursion by India is imminent.
00:34:29There were a series of top-level security meetings
00:34:32that took place in the national capital also.
00:34:34The crucial meetings come day after India's big military flex.
00:34:38Air exercise Akraman, INS Surat hitting the sea
00:34:41and BrahMos missiles being test-fired.
00:34:43All this has now got Pakistan really rattled.
00:34:46And what it's doing?
00:34:47Raising the nuclear bogey?
00:34:49But who is spying this threat?
00:34:50Actually, no one.
00:34:53Monday morning saw a series of high-level security meetings in New Delhi.
00:35:05Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was briefed
00:35:09by the Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dravedi in South Block.
00:35:13Rajnath Singh then met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
00:35:24On Sunday, the Indian Navy demonstrated its firepower,
00:35:29launching the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in a combat exercise.
00:35:34The message to Pakistan, a state sponsor of radical Islamist terror, is clear.
00:35:44India is battle-ready.
00:35:46It's this military muscle flex that has triggered a full-blown meltdown in Pakistan
00:35:56with several Pakistani political leaders issuing explicit threats of nuclear retaliation against India.
00:36:06Pakistan's defense minister Khwaja Aasif also threatened India with a full-blown war.
00:36:29Pakistan has issued a nuclear threat to India, even in the past.
00:36:59India is conventionally far superior to Pakistan with its larger and more advanced armed forces
00:37:16with better technology equipment.
00:37:20And it's because of India's conventional superiority that Pakistan has a low threshold
00:37:27and threatens India with swift nuclear escalation.
00:37:33India's nuclear policy, formally centered on a no-first-use policy,
00:37:39has shown signs of flexibility in recent years.
00:37:42Some Indian leaders have hinted that a major terrorist attack,
00:37:49particularly one linked to Pakistan,
00:37:51could trigger a strong response under certain circumstances,
00:37:55especially if chemical or biological weapons have been used.
00:38:00Pakistan should know that its nuclear saber rattling
00:38:04is not going to rattle anyone in India anymore.
00:38:09Bureau Report, India Today.
00:38:15Now there's a new horrific video that has come out with regards to the Pahalgam terror attack.
00:38:19In fact, India Today has accessed the new video.
00:38:22The video was shot on the 22nd of April when the terror attack took place.
00:38:25The video that you can see now, the tourist who was riding the zipline over the Baisaran Valley
00:38:30unknowingly filmed the horror in real time.
00:38:33These are disturbing visuals.
00:38:35They are showing that zipliners were suspended in the air
00:38:37and there were chants of Allahu Akbar that could be heard, followed by gunshots.
00:38:42Post this, there was panic amongst the tourists who were in the Baisaran Valley.
00:38:46According to eyewitnesses, Rishi Bhatt, who's a survivor,
00:38:49the zipline operator allegedly chanted Allahu Akbar before the gunfire erupted.
00:38:53He further claimed that couples were being asked their religion
00:38:56and some were forced to recite the kalma at gunpoint.
00:38:59The National Investigative Agency has detained the zipline operator
00:39:02for further questioning in this case.
00:39:23When I reached down to my wife, I saw that two people were asked to ask their religion
00:39:27and killed a gun.
00:39:30You were reached.
00:39:31You saw that people were asked their religion and killed a gun.
00:39:37Then what did you do?
00:39:41Yes.
00:39:41If you are Hindu or Muslim, who are you?
00:39:44Yes.
00:39:45You were asked to ask their religion.
00:39:46They were killed.
00:39:47Then they were a little distance.
00:39:49I was leaving the zipline,
00:39:51and then I was leaving my wife and my children
00:39:54and started running there.
00:39:55We started running there.
00:39:56We were leaving there.
00:39:57Then we got a spot here,
00:40:00which was a blind spot,
00:40:01because there was a whole ground open.
00:40:03We could be locked in the open ground.
00:40:05We could be locked anywhere.
00:40:07We saw that we were locked there.
00:40:09We were locked there.
00:40:10We were locked there.
00:40:11We were locked there.
00:40:12We were locked there.
00:40:13Around 8 to 10 minutes,
00:40:17the firing was less than 10 minutes.
00:40:18We started running there.
00:40:20Okay.
00:40:21When you started running there,
00:40:23did you think that the bullets were coming from the direction?
00:40:27Where were they coming from?
00:40:28How many of these bullets were running?
00:40:31If you remember that moment,
00:40:34what was coming from your mind?
00:40:38I tell you.
00:40:40First thing,
00:40:41two people were laying around the ground
00:40:44that told everyone else,
00:40:46they were Hadi.
00:40:47other people were firing from the ground.
00:40:50They were firing higher.
00:40:51The total of four to five percent
00:40:54could be the best to me.
00:40:55They were вин-age in the ground.
00:40:57Two people were all left behind the ground.
00:40:59Everyone saw the people
00:41:00and the two people were asking folks.
00:41:02They were killing everybody.
00:41:04My colleague Kamaljeet Sandhu is now joining me from Jammu and Kashmir.
00:41:10Kamaljeet, various questions are at the moment being asked,
00:41:12but this new video is bringing certain things to light.
00:41:15The NIA has taken cognizance of this video.
00:41:18Very clearly, the entire massacre has been unknowingly shot by the survivor.
00:41:27Well, amongst the several videos which have been coming out,
00:41:30this seems to be rather bone-chilling,
00:41:32because this also, in a sense, gives you an aerial view of what happens.
00:41:36You can actually see people dying in that video.
00:41:39So it's very dastardly at the first set of attack.
00:41:43And obviously, a crucial eyewitness account now really coming in.
00:41:46The suspicion on one of the zipliners.
00:41:50Remember, at this point of time, what we can tell you,
00:41:53that Jammu Kashmir police and NIA have questioned this person.
00:41:57He's under scanner.
00:41:59He's been detained and questioned further on.
00:42:02He's been called in the past few days also.
00:42:05But after the video has come out, he's been called in again.
00:42:08So yes, they're checking his antecedents.
00:42:11There's also a huge sort of drive,
00:42:13because remember, several of the overground workers have been questioned
00:42:16over the past few days.
00:42:20And this is where things are critical, because remember, as the days go by,
00:42:26the operations going on in the jungles, in the thick foliage, they're also intensifying.
00:42:32It's like actually finding a needle in a haystack.
00:42:35But security forces are on it, because remember, anti-Fidain squads have now been formed.
00:42:41They're the ones who are going to different areas.
00:42:44There are security force personnel who've been deployed all across South Kashmir.
00:42:48So we know operations are going on.
00:42:50That is why in the past five days, at least twice,
00:42:53the security forces have apparently come extremely close,
00:42:56where there was an exchange of fire with a suspected module.
00:43:00So these jungles are being scouted at this point of time.
00:43:03Any sort of trekking and hiking activity has been stopped.
00:43:08Let me tell you, the suspicion is also that these terrorists,
00:43:11one of them is Adal Tokar, as we've mentioned to our viewers in the past few days,
00:43:16a local terrorist who has been identified from Bridge Bihara.
00:43:20But the others seem to be battle-hardened.
00:43:22Some even say there could be training from the Pakistani para-commanders.
00:43:27So all this is a part of the investigation at this point of time.
00:43:31But remember, investigators piecing together not just eyewitness accounts,
00:43:35but also information from intelligence agencies and obviously concrete evidence will be put forth
00:43:41before the court of law, before the international court of justice.
00:43:47So all this is going to be extremely critical,
00:43:50especially in parts of investigation which has been taken over by the NI.
00:43:55Kamaljeet, please stay on with me.
00:43:56We've got some more news coming in with regards to the investigation at the moment that is taking place.
00:44:00A team from the National Investigative Agency has now started recording the statements of the family members of the victims
00:44:07as well as statements of the survivors from this attack.
00:44:10The NIA seeks to piece together the sequence of the events
00:44:13and gather more information with regards to the terrorist.
00:44:16In fact, India today has accessed the line of questioning that will be done by the NIA.
00:44:21The agencies are now asking the eyewitnesses,
00:44:23When did you go to Kashmir? What time did you reach?
00:44:27Where were you when the terrorist arrived?
00:44:28The language that they spoke, do you remember?
00:44:32Did you notice any marks on their faces?
00:44:34Did you see the weapons that they were carrying?
00:44:36What did they look like?
00:44:37Did they speak to you at any point?
00:44:39Did you respond to them in any way?
00:44:41Questions about their facial features, appearance, clothings,
00:44:44all these will be asked in the questioning that is at the moment underway at the NIA.
00:44:51My colleague Kamaljeet is still with me on the story.
00:44:54Kamaljeet, the idea now of the NIA is to make sure that they get a clear picture
00:44:57of what exactly happened on that day and through speaking with all those people,
00:45:03they are also trying to make sure that somehow the facial expressions, identities, marks
00:45:08can be zeroed in, can be gathered through the statements.
00:45:11Well, yes, at that point of time, there were at least 1,200 people who were present.
00:45:20Several of them were Ponywalas, the vendors, shopkeepers.
00:45:23So all of them have also been identified and placed as eyewitnesses.
00:45:27There's also checking for whether there was any sort of other local involvement,
00:45:31especially of those who were present on the ground.
00:45:34And that is why in the past five days, what we've seen is day in and day out,
00:45:38all these people have been called in for questioning at the Pehelgaam police station.
00:45:43Remember, there's also piecing together evidence by speaking to eyewitness accounts.
00:45:49Several of the videos are now available, which have given vital clues.
00:45:52Two of the main people who are involved, who are giving out and spelling out clear details,
00:45:57are the one who's identified as a local man who would actually be shooting reels for tourists,
00:46:03who's the one who's actually recorded several of the videos,
00:46:06was perched atop of a tree, trying to actually save his own life.
00:46:11It's only when the security agencies went in, led by the SHO, the quick reaction team of ZRPF,
00:46:17he was asked to actually come down.
00:46:20He has shared important pieces of evidence.
00:46:23The other is obviously a left-hand colonel who was on a vacation with his family.
00:46:27Not only did he manage to save his family, but he also managed to duck and save himself.
00:46:32And remember, there's also a thing about how people actually did panic.
00:46:37They weren't really coherent.
00:46:39But these are two eyewitnesses which the NIA and even the Jammu Kashmir police are heavily relying on.
00:46:46One is because of the video detailing which was done.
00:46:49And second is clear eyewitness accounts about the weapon they were carrying.
00:46:53And we've been told it was AK-47 and M4 carbine.
00:46:56So these are the four terrorists who have been identified.
00:47:00And what we believe is that there were one local terrorist and there are three Pakistani terrorists.
00:47:04And this is the link which is now really coming in.
00:47:08Thank you, Kamaljeet, giving us all those details.
00:47:11My colleague Kamaljeet has been tracking all that is happening in Jammu and Kashmir with regards to the security forces
00:47:16and also the questioning that is now taking place.
00:47:19It's the NIA, that is the National Investigative Agency, that has now started to question the eyewitness.
00:47:24Now we have got some of the questions that the NIA will be asking and has already asked over the past 24 hours.
00:47:30When did you go to Kashmir?
00:47:32What time did you reach?
00:47:33This is the first question that is now being asked.
00:47:36Where were you when the terrorists arrived?
00:47:38And where was Bharat Bhushan?
00:47:41What language did the terrorists speak when they came in?
00:47:45Did you notice any marks on their faces?
00:47:49Did you see the weapons that they carry?
00:47:52What did they look like?
00:47:53A very specific question that is now being asked by the NIA.
00:47:56Did they speak to you at any point?
00:47:59Did you respond to them in any way?
00:48:03The NIA at the moment is questioning all those people about the facial features.
00:48:07They are also trying to ask about appearances and the clothing.
00:48:10So this is the line of questioning that is being taken by the NIA.
00:48:13NIA is trying to piece together everything, what exactly happened on that day to get a clearer picture of what exactly unfolded on the 22nd of April.
00:48:22In fact, in Pehelgaon, 26 tourists were murdered by Pakistani terrorists with local support.
00:48:28There is a manhunt which is underway for the attackers believed to be hiding in South Kashmir's forest.
00:48:33Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Adil Thokar is the prime suspect in this case.
00:48:37Security forces are closing in.
00:48:39Retaliatory strikes are also taking place.
00:48:42Targeted terror-linked homes are now being targeted, sending a clear message.
00:48:45Those who will make India bleed will face devastating consequences.
00:48:49Watch this report.
00:49:02The carnage in Pehelgaon.
00:49:0726 innocent tourists shot dead in cold blood.
00:49:12Many, at point-blank range, shot in the head.
00:49:19Shot by Pakistani terrorists, backed, apparently, by local terror operatives.
00:49:28Several days on, a massive manhunt is on to nab the butchers of Pehelgaon.
00:49:35In jungles adjoining the area.
00:49:38The security forces are using sophisticated, state-of-the-art scanning equipment.
00:49:48It has now been revealed that the terrorists may still be pulled up in the forests of South Kashmir, not far from Pehelgaon.
00:49:58The security forces were closed to their terror hideout at least twice, but the terrorists seem to have escaped at the last moment.
00:50:08Local Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist, Adil Thokar, who had travelled to Pakistan with valid travel documents via the Atari-Vaga border,
00:50:23emerging as the prime accused, who pulled the trigger along with at least three other hardcore Pakistani terrorists.
00:50:32The forces have meanwhile begun identifying and neutralizing the bases of local terrorists who provided logistics and support to the Pakistani terrorists.
00:50:48Their homes are being blown up using improvised explosive devices
00:50:55to send across a clear message that bleeding India and killing Indians will come at a terrible, unaffordable cost for the radical terrorists.
00:51:10Operations will continue till they are not tracked down and it's not just Pehelgaon.
00:51:24But if you talk of other areas, forest areas of South Kashmir, including Kokarnag, right up to Pehelgaon, the jungle track,
00:51:33the jungle track which obviously has been used by TRF and JASH as a transit route is being scanned by multiple forces.
00:51:43So that tells you that they are on their hot trail and according to sources,
00:51:47it's only a matter of time before they are tracked down and taken care of.
00:51:53With Kappas and Muzaffar Ahmed, Meer Faris Srinagar for India Today.
00:51:58Now as we speak, there is massive anti-Pakistan uprising that can be seen in the Gilgit-Balististan area
00:52:04and even in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, that is the POK.
00:52:08Protests are now redacting across the Baljistan region and in POK.
00:52:12The locals are rallying against Pakistan's exploitative mineral policies and the oppressive presence of the Pakistani army.
00:52:19This unrest also highlights the deep-seated anger over the economic deprivation and military control.
00:52:25Even as the public is rising, intelligence inputs are revealing that it's the Pakistani army
00:52:29which has started vacating no-need terror launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
00:52:34And this is an apparent move after India identified 42 such sites.
00:52:38Terrorists are now reportedly being shifted to army-controlled bunkers and shelters,
00:52:43raising questions about the role of the military under General Asin Munir.
00:52:46These developments expose the growing internal rift and the increasing pressure on Pakistani army
00:52:52both from within and outside the country.
00:52:56We are now seeing how there are massive protests that are taking place in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as well.
00:53:02These protests are erupting.
00:53:04The locals have started rallying against Pakistan's exploitative mineral policies.
00:53:08There is a lot of pressure that Pakistan is feeling internally.
00:53:11Questions are being asked about what exactly the Pakistani army is doing.
00:53:15This also speaks about the anger that people have because economic progress cannot be seen in most of the areas.
00:53:22There is also massive military control.
00:53:25Now the public anger is rising.
00:53:27India has caught inputs that Pakistani army has now started vacating the terror launchpads in POK.
00:53:32In fact, India has a list of all these terror launchpads.
00:53:35Now we are seeing how these launchpads are now being moved.
00:53:39The terrorists who are being trained in these launchpads against India,
00:53:42they are now being shifted to army-controlled bunkers and shelters.
00:53:46Questions definitely are being asked about the role of Pakistani army.
00:53:51How are they governing Pakistan?
00:53:52And what exactly is the connection with regards to the terror attack that took place in India on the 22nd of April?
00:54:00What is the army doing, Anil Janil Asin Munir?
00:54:02That's the big question everyone is now asking.
00:54:05India at the moment is now looking at making sure that Pakistan is isolated at every level.
00:54:11My colleague Sunil Ji Bhat is now joining me on the story.
00:54:14Sunil Ji, we can very clearly see how there is anger within Pakistan.
00:54:17Also, people have now started asking questions with regards to the military presence,
00:54:21with regards to what the army is doing.
00:54:25Absolutely, Aishwarya.
00:54:26You know, it's not for the first time that protests are being witnessed against the Pakistani army
00:54:32in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
00:54:36You know, in Gilgit-Baltistan region, protests, you know, have taken place against the Pakistani army.
00:54:42The locals are very angry, and they are saying that the Pakistani army is resorting to, you know,
00:54:49cruelty against them, and their resources are being, you know, misused by Pakistani authorities.
00:54:57So, clearly, there is anger growing within Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the Pakistani army,
00:55:04and that is why quite often we hear the slogans like that,
00:55:08So, clearly, the people in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir are aware that Pakistan army is, you know,
00:55:18exploiting their resources and is also, you know, discriminating against them,
00:55:24and that is why now people are coming out and sailing protests against Pakistani army in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
00:55:31Thank you, Sunil Ji Bhatt, giving us those details, visuals that you are seeing on your screens
00:55:36are of the internal pressure that Pakistan is now facing.
00:55:40In fact, top India-Pakistan diplomats are now having a big face-off over Pakistani terror attack
00:55:46that took place in Pehlgaon.
00:55:47Watch.
00:55:51Abdul Basit, are you willing to accept at the very outset
00:55:55that Pakistan has much to answer for what happened in Baisaran?
00:56:00That this is not just an occasion where Pakistan can engage in familiar denial.
00:56:06This is now a time where Pakistan must accept at some stage its role in sponsoring terror.
00:56:14Thank you very much, Ajit, for having me on your show.
00:56:17I think it is for India to come clean.
00:56:21If it has any evidence, credible evidence, then it should present to Pakistan,
00:56:27or if it is not willing to present it to Pakistan,
00:56:31then it should accept some kind of an international investigation into the incident.
00:56:37I do not know why India is shying away from accepting this,
00:56:41which clearly means that India does not have anything to prove
00:56:47that Pakistan is behind this attack.
00:56:50There are 26 innocent, sir, who have died.
00:56:54Please understand.
00:56:55They have died.
00:56:55These are non-combatants who have died, unlike in Pathan court.
00:57:00Here there are non-combatants, and you say it's a false flag operation, sir.
00:57:04Let's start.
00:57:05Let's at least have a reasonable dialogue, sir.
00:57:08The reason I brought you two together to have a reasonable dialogue.
00:57:10But if you start this debate by saying it's a false flag operation,
00:57:14then where does…
00:57:15I mean, you are one of the senior most diplomats of your country, sir.
00:57:19Since Mr. Kaju got personal,
00:57:21so that in itself betrays what kind of frustration India is having today.
00:57:28There is not frustration.
00:57:29When I say it…
00:57:31False flag operation.
00:57:32How can I accept that?
00:57:34Very kind of you.
00:57:35I would not really enter into a slanging match,
00:57:38because that is not my style of doing things.
00:57:41I said what I strongly felt.
00:57:44What should India's response be to those in Pakistan who say share information,
00:57:49have a global neutral inquiry?
00:57:52I say, Rajdeep, this is not a serious observation.
00:57:57This is not a serious demand.
00:57:59For the last 35 years, the world has witnessed and acknowledged Pakistan's role in terror
00:58:09across the LOC, across the international border, and elsewhere in India.
00:58:19It is no secret Pakistan has been on the FATF list.
00:58:26Why?
00:58:27Because of its role in terror financing,
00:58:31because of the tanzims that exist on its soil.
00:58:36And it is terribly ironic that these are some of the tanzims that Pakistan raised
00:58:42have now turned their guns against the Pakistan state.
00:58:45So, Pakistan claims that it is a victim of terror.
00:58:50It is a victim of terror.
00:58:52It is the perpetrator of terror.
00:58:54It has…
00:58:55The fact is that the Pakistani army has made the use of terror as part of its strategic doctrine.
00:59:04And whenever an army does so, it uses terror.
00:59:10It has to use terror.
00:59:12So, therefore, whenever my Pakistani friend says, show us the proof,
00:59:18I tell them I don't need to show you the proof.
00:59:21It is there in 35 years of experience, not only of India, of the world.
00:59:28Now, the battleground is set, turning fissures into fault lines.
00:59:34While India continues to mourn the loss of the innocent lives in the terror attack
00:59:38and prepares a very just and tough measure,
00:59:41Pakistan's old friends are still standing with Rawalpindi.
00:59:44Watch this report.
00:59:45Amid growing tensions after the deadly Pahlgaam terror attack, India faces a new challenge.
01:00:08Not just from Pakistan, but from its backers, Turkey and China.
01:00:15As the world calls for restraint, Pakistan's allies are swiftly stepping in with weapons, not peace.
01:00:22Just days after the terror strike in Pahlgaam, which killed 26 tourists,
01:00:30Turkey has reportedly dispatched military cargo to Pakistan.
01:00:34A Turkish Air Force C-130 Hercules landed in Karachi, reportedly loaded with combat equipment.
01:00:41Turkey later clarified that only a single transport aircraft departed from Turkey and landed in Pakistan
01:00:49for refueling purposes, after which it continued along its designated route.
01:00:55Even then, it has fueled India's anger as it is being considered as Turkey's betrayal.
01:01:01In 2023, when Turkey was devastated by one of the deadliest earthquakes,
01:01:09it was India that rushed in first.
01:01:11Under Operation Dost, Indian teams flew into Turkey within hours,
01:01:17pulling survivors from rubble, setting up hospitals and delivering aid.
01:01:23Meanwhile, Pakistan's all-weather ally, China, has urged both nations to show restraint.
01:01:31China welcomes all measures conducive to cooling down the current situation
01:01:36and supports an impartial investigation as soon as possible.
01:01:41As a common neighbor of both India and Pakistan,
01:01:43China hopes that India and Pakistan will exercise restraint and meet each other halfway.
01:01:48We should properly handle relevant differences through dialogue and consultation
01:01:52and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
01:01:56But on other hands, Beijing has reportedly fast-tracked the delivery of deadly PL-15 air-to-air missiles
01:02:06in a modern, long-range system that could change air combat equations in the region.
01:02:13This growing Turkey-Pakistan-China triangle spells a new headache for India's security planners.
01:02:19Turkey's drones and combat tech, China's missiles, Pakistan's terror proxies.
01:02:29It is a dangerous cocktail aimed at unsettling the region.
01:02:34With Rudra Ashish Kanjilal, Bureau Report, India Today.
01:02:38There's also massive politics which is erupting over the 22nd April Pehalgam attack.
01:02:46Now, this has left the entire nation in shock.
01:02:49But two Congress leaders have backed Pakistan's claims,
01:02:52despite the Congress saying that it supports the central government in its stand against Pakistan.
01:02:58Now, their remarks have triggered a massive uproar in political circles.
01:03:01Congress leader Saifuddin Sos has backed Pakistani terrorists,
01:03:05saying if Pakistan says that it had no role in the terror attack,
01:03:09then we should take their word for it.
01:03:10In fact, Congress leader Vijay has also said that terrorists should be caught red-handed
01:03:15rather than twisting the narrative.
01:03:17Sources have told India Today that now the Congress Party has issued a gag order
01:03:21restraining all the leaders from making any kind of comments.
01:03:24The CWC resolution is the party's official stand on the Pehalgam terror attack.
01:03:29Amid all this criticism, it is Malik Arjun Khargay who's pushed back against questions
01:03:33on Congress's patriotism, stating that Indra Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi,
01:03:37both of them, sacrificed their lives for India.

01:05:46News that's coming in. It's the Indian-American lawmaker who's now moved to impeach Donald Trump. Shri Thanedar accuses Donald Trump of abusing power. Thanedar said Donald Trump has been violating the Constitution of the United States of America and needs urgent action. In fact, Thanedar has submitted seven articles citing obstruction and bribery. Thanedar trolled for impeach Trump motion that he's now set rolling.
01:06:16Today, I introduced a resolution to impeach Donald J. Trump outlining seven articles of impeachment.
01:06:30Article 1. Obstruction of justice and abuse of executive power. From denying due process to unlawful deportations, Trump defied court orders.
01:06:44Article 2. Taking away Congress's power of the purse. Trump dismantled agencies and froze funds without permission from Congress.
01:06:59Article 3. Abuse of trade powers and international aggression. He imposed damaging tariffs and threatened military invasions of our allies.
01:07:14Article 4. Violation of First Amendment rights. He has retaliated against journalists, attorneys and critics for exercising their right to free speech.
01:07:29Our foreign affairs editor, Geeta Mohan, now joining me on the story.
01:07:34Geeta, these are big statements coming in from Shri Thanedar. He's gone ahead and accused Donald Trump of abusing power and violating the Constitution of the nation.
01:07:42Well, that's right. A very significant statement coming in and a significant act as well coming in from a democratic lawmaker in the United States of America.
01:07:52He said that he's, and this is very specific to do with his policies on immigration and immigrants, given that the move to do away with birthright citizenship could impact many Indians.
01:08:07And so as a representative of a large part of the Indian community or Indian diaspora in the United States of America, he said that they are a direct attack on democracy itself when Trump attacks due process of birthright citizenship and humanitarian aid.
01:08:27And therefore, he has introduced articles of impeachment against him.
01:08:31We'll have to wait and see whether that really passes through the House or the Senate because the Republicans have numbers over here.
01:08:40And so it might not see the light of day, but in principle, having moved an impeachment motion in itself is a big thing.
01:08:52And the resolution does introduce, according to the report, seven articles of impeachment spanning a wide range of misconduct that has been alleged against the president, which include abuse of the executive power, to corruption, to bribery cases, creation of unlawful government offices, which includes doge.
01:09:14And that has led to a lot of a massive layoff in the United States of America and, most importantly, undermining the First Amendment.
01:09:24And that has to do with citizenship, freedom of press, so on and so forth.
01:09:29So a lot of issues for which these impeachment articles have been introduced by Shri Sanidar, a democratic lawmaker.
01:09:38But then again, numbers don't stack up against Trump right now, neither in the House nor in the Senate.
01:09:47Right, Gita, you know, you made a very important point that the numbers are not stacking up.
01:09:51But, you know, one thing is very, very clear that we are seeing a lot of pushback also.
01:09:55A couple of months back, we saw how the people were out there on the street with regards, you know, against what Donald Trump was doing.
01:10:01And now, we are seeing serious things being said about violation of the Constitution, urgent action being needed.
01:10:09These are some of the statements that we very often hear from the United States of America against Donald Trump.
01:10:14Also, what's interesting is that today marks the 100th day of Trump administration.
01:10:21It is 100th day in office.
01:10:23He's going to kick it off with a rally in Michigan.
01:10:27And at such a juncture, you have a massive pushback.
01:10:31We saw all of that all through the last week itself, when a lot of congressmen, a lot of lawmakers are coming out and have been criticizing Donald Trump.
01:10:42Donald Trump went out and out yesterday, criticizing all the posters, given that his numbers, his popularity, ranking and percentage has dropped quite a bit.
01:10:54In fact, in the history of American presidency, in a rare moment, he must have ranked as one of the lowest in his first 100 days.
01:11:07And that certainly riled President Trump.
01:11:10And he questioned it by saying, by calling all these polls fake.
01:11:15So, interesting that Thamidar moved an impeachment resolution or articles of impeachment on a day when President Trump is marking his 100 days in office.
01:11:27Right, Geeta, you know, interesting points we have given out there today marks the 100 days of the Trump administration.
01:11:36Geeta, one more question I would just like to ask you.
01:11:38Do you think that we will see the remaining time of Donald Trump to be free of these kind of statements?
01:11:45Because what we can actually see that there is a lot of pushback, especially with regards to what he's been doing, the number of jobs that are lost across U.S.
01:11:54Inflation, another one of the big concerns that the world is very closely looking at.
01:11:58Well, if anything, if anything, Ashwarya, we will see more polarization, more hard-hitting statements, more harsh policies.
01:12:08There are negotiations that are underway between the United States of America and over 70 countries on Paris alone.
01:12:16And the time frame that he's given is very, very short.
01:12:21So, again, we'll have to wait and see whether he's able to successfully conclude any trade agreement with any of these countries, including India, for which the time frame is this fall.
01:12:35And if that does not happen, things are going to look really topsy-turvy when it comes to global economy.
01:12:41Things are already looking bad.
01:12:43Countries will have to see whether they can rely on America.
01:12:47Will China become a huge alternative?
01:12:51How does that then play out for the world economy, global economy, Europe, India included?
01:12:56Many questions.
01:12:57It is going to be a very rough four-year ride.
01:13:01Thank you, Geetha Mohan, for an offizator giving us perspective of what we can expect coming in from U.S.
01:13:06Let's once again listen in to what Shreetanida said.
01:13:08He's now gone ahead and moved impeachment against Donald Trump.
01:13:11Today, I introduced a resolution to impeach Donald J. Trump, outlining seven articles of impeachment.
01:13:24Article 1.
01:13:26Obstruction of justice and abuse of executive power.
01:13:30From denying due process to unlawful deportations, Trump defied court orders.
01:13:40Article 2.
01:13:41Taking away Congress's power of the purse, Trump dismantled agencies and froze funds without permission from Congress.
01:13:52Joining us live on the broadcast, Shreetanida, our Indian-American congressman.
01:13:59I would like to start by asking you, the numbers are not stacked in your favor,
01:14:03but you have still gone ahead and filed seven articles of impeachment against the President, General Ray Trump.
01:14:09Yes, you know, he has done unconstitutional activity, illegal activities.
01:14:19He has taken advantage of his office for personal gain.
01:14:23And it was time for me to speak out.
01:14:27I could not stay silent when he defied Supreme Court order to reverse the deportation of Mr. Garcia.
01:14:37And I decided to stand up and hold President Donald J. Trump accountable.
01:14:45How are you looking at taking this forward from this point?
01:14:51Go ahead.
01:14:53Well, look, we are only three votes shy of a majority.
01:14:58And I'm hoping that some Republican members of Congress would look and look at his acts.
01:15:10Many of them privately agree that what he's doing is unconstitutional.
01:15:17Their constituents think what Donald Trump is doing is unconstitutional and undemocratic
01:15:23and not becoming like the President of the United States.
01:15:27So I am hoping that some of the Republicans would join the Democrats in impeaching Donald J. Trump.
01:15:36I would also like to ask you, you know, we are seeing how Donald Trump, along with Elon Musk,
01:15:42they are making radical changes.
01:15:43Do you believe everything that the government at the moment is doing is very Donald Trump specific?
01:15:49Do you believe he is not looking at the larger good of the United States of America?
01:15:54There are a lot of flip-flops, you know, tariffs.
01:15:57Today that he has tariffs, tomorrow he removes them.
01:16:00There is no clear vision.
01:16:02There is no clear plan.
01:16:04There is no clear strategy.
01:16:06A lot of the decisions are being made without fully thinking them through.
01:16:12And what it has done is it has impacted America's stock market.
01:16:17It has impacted workers' wages and jobs.
01:16:22It is going to significantly impact, adversely impact American economy
01:16:28and to a large extent the world economy because of irrational and unthoughtful decisions of Donald Trump.
01:16:40Do you also believe that, you know, when he leaves,
01:16:44U.S. will be at a far worse place than the condition that he got U.S. in?
01:16:47Yes, the damages are being created by dismantling things like the Department of Education,
01:16:55by cutting social programs like Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security.
01:17:01These are going to create a long-lasting impact.
01:17:06He has impacted the relationship America has,
01:17:13a long-standing relationship with allied countries.
01:17:17All of that needs to be repaired after him.
01:17:20And that will take a long time to restore back some of the credibility
01:17:26America has accomplished over the decades, over the centuries, across the world.
01:17:33You know, America is the largest, the best country in the world.
01:17:37And there is a lot of respect for America.
01:17:40There is a lot of respect across the world for America's economy.
01:17:44And some of the actions of President Trump has eroded that honor, that respect.
01:17:51And it would have to be restored back.
01:17:56Thank you, Sritanadar, for joining me on the broadcast.
01:17:59Indian-American Congressman Sritanadar gone ahead and filed articles of impeachment
01:18:03against U.S. President John D. Trump.
