Shedeur Sanders falls to the 5th round with an unexpected call... Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich son prank called Shedeur during the NFL draft as Saints GM Mickey Loomis.
Transcript
00:00This is, I mean, one of the craziest stories I've ever seen of stupidity.
00:05So Shador Sanders was obviously the big story over the weekend.
00:10Falls into the draft in the fifth round.
00:13They kept cutting to his, his party.
00:17It was streaming.
00:19And eventually at one point, Leroy, somebody calls Shador Sanders
00:24and is like pretending to be somebody.
00:28And they're like,
00:30looks like you're going to have to wait a little longer.
00:31So they prank called Shador Sanders thinking that he got drafted.
00:36They found out who it was.
00:38They found out who it was because this was a specific phone
00:44that Shador had just gotten the day before the draft
00:47that the only people who had numbers for it were the NFL personnel people.
00:55So they were able to deduce,
00:57Hey, this isn't like some rando just has Shador's number that's been out there forever.
01:03He just got the phone.
01:05Well, here's the thing with kids these days.
01:08They like to film everything and they're idiots.
01:11So he filmed him making a phone call.
01:14Yup.
01:16Oh my goodness.
01:19Oh, and of course the internet is going to now be able to track down.
01:25Internet's going to internet.
01:26The internet's going to sleuth.
01:28And this kid is sitting there on the couch with his buddies,
01:32prank calling Shador Sanders because they got to get the credit for it.
01:36And they look through and they're like, huh?
01:38I know that kid.
01:40Let's look at that.
01:41That's that school.
01:42Boop, boop, boop.
01:43It was some small school.
01:45And it ends up being the Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator,
01:50Jeff Oldbrook, who of course was the interim coach for the Jets last year
01:54after they fired their coach.
01:57He's now the DC in Atlanta.
01:59And it was his punk son, Jax Oldbrook.
02:04Not even an offensive guy?
02:07Nope.
02:09How old is this kid?
02:1121.
02:12He ain't a kid.
02:13He's a kid, but he's not a kid.
02:15He's a dumbass is what he is.
02:18The Atlanta Falcons had to issue a statement.
02:22Earlier this week, Jax Oldbrook immediately just is like,
02:28the 21-year-old son of defensive coordinator Jeff Oldbrook
02:31unintentionally came across the draft contact phone number
02:35for Shador Sanders off an open iPad while visiting his parents' house
02:39and wrote down the number to later conduct a prank call.
02:43Jeff Oldbrook was unaware of the data exposure or any facets of the prank
02:46and was made aware only after the fact.
02:50The Atlanta Falcons do not condone this behavior
02:52and send our sincere apologies to Shador Sanders and his family
02:56who have been in contact to apologize to
02:58as well as facilitate an apology directly from Jax to Shador.
03:02Now, question.
03:03Question.
03:05What was one of the things said about Shador?
03:09He had a bad interview.
03:11Right?
03:12Yep.
03:12How old is Shador?
03:1422.
03:15Right.
03:17The kid that pranked him is 21.
03:19Yep.
03:19Look how hard they are on Shador.
03:22And look at how we are just chuckling over the dumbass.
03:25Jax Oldbrook took to social media with his statement.
03:30Like, we want to hear more from him?
03:33On Friday night, I made a tremendous mistake.
03:37Shador, what I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful.
03:41I'm so sorry I took away from your moment.
03:43It was selfish and childish.
03:44I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life,
03:48and I made a terrible mistake and messed up with that moment.
03:53Thank you for accepting my call earlier,
03:55and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
03:59Again.
04:00Damage is done.
04:01No, damage is mad.
04:02Damage is done, my friend.
04:04You know what?
04:06Think of all the things they said about Shador's.
04:10Leroy, we're not even.
04:11No, no, no.
04:11Leroy.
04:12Leroy.
04:12Leroy.
04:14Who are the two most popular players in the franchise history of the Atlanta Falcons?
04:22Michael Vick.
04:23Michael Vick and Jamal Anderson?
04:25No.
04:26Deion Sanders.
04:27Oh, yeah.
04:29You still see 21 jerseys.
04:31All the time.
04:32All the time in Atlanta.
04:3421 and 7.
04:35Jeff Albrecht's son to, like, it's like you're taking a shot at the Sanders family.
04:41They're not going to like that.
04:42They're not going to like that in Atlanta.
04:45He better have a top five defense because he's like Deion's diet.
04:51Like, Deion's, like, royalty over there in Atlanta.
04:53Yep.
04:53So, messing with his family?
04:55Uh-uh.
04:56Uh-uh.
04:57Yeah, but what's he going to do?
04:59But that's the problem.
05:00That's the issue.
05:02That's the issue that I have is that we have people, I mean, think about what you would
05:08say if a football player did that.
05:10Kick him out of the league.
05:11Do this.
05:12Do this.
05:13Do whatever.
05:13We got a kid who's damn near the same age doing something just as dumb.
05:18And now we want, oh, he accepted my apology.
05:21And, okay.
05:23Do they fire Olbrook?
05:24I don't know.
05:25You got to find out that the defense coordinator actually gave him the number, right?
05:28No, he said he.
05:29No, no, no, no.
05:30I know what they said.
05:32I'm saying, let's say Olbrook wanted a good chuckle.
05:36And he just gave him the number.
05:38Oh, I happen to leave my iPad open.
05:42If an athlete had done this, Vlad, we would be saying the streets need a body.
05:47Let me just say.
05:47Do the streets not need a body now?
05:49This is the year of our Lord, 2025.
05:512025, you don't have a pin on your iPad for work?
05:57My son doesn't know that.
05:59Oh, Olbrook just, ooh, silly me.
06:02He got the number.
06:03What is he, a toddler running a, you know, buying something for a half?
06:06I'm more than sure.
06:08I'm more than sure that the dad who was probably working on the iPad at some point
06:14and had a grown-ass kid didn't know he had to deal with this.
06:19Unless he's a meathead.
06:23Okay, but why?
06:25Tobin, my question is you got kids that you're drafting that are the same age.
06:29They don't get that benefit.
06:31That's what I'm saying, though.
06:32Like, that's the only way you get real consequences out of this is if Jeff Olbrook really innocently
06:38didn't know anything about that.
06:40Okay.
06:41Which I'm having a hard time believing.
06:43Hey, to firing, wait, see, here's what's funny.
06:46To firing someone over a phone call, stop being soft.
06:50Again.
06:51No, that's a bad look on the Atlanta Pops.
06:53We suspended somebody for doing finger guns.
06:59Stop.
07:00Like, I don't understand what you guys think.
07:02You don't think that you're being a little over the top with athletes and that if an athlete
07:08had done something like this, you wouldn't want that guy kicked out of the league?
07:13Stop it.
07:14That's what I'm saying, though.
07:15Like, there's no consequences for Jax Olbrook because nobody cares about Jax Olbrook.
07:21Unless we find out the dad actually gave him the number.
07:25But you're not going to find out.
07:27I don't know.
07:28No, because that's something you can keep hush-hush.
07:30Plus, keep in mind, with the explanation, they already cleared that out.
07:36Oh, I mean, you would think keeping the hush-hush would also be not recording.
07:41Oh, no.
07:42He went full.
07:43He went full job.
07:45Yeah, he went full stupid.
07:46He had a picture of it.
07:50I bet they're going to tell you, Jeff Olbrook, because that's probably what Jeff Olbrook said.
07:53Oh, he got a phone.
07:54Hey, there better not be a text that says, hey, Jax, here's Shador's number.
08:00They ain't going to do that much investigating.
08:02Maybe not.
08:03Depends what Deion wants, right?
08:05What if Deion is royalty to the Falcons like that, and he calls up Arthur Blank, and he goes,
08:12all right, well, can you look at his phone real quick?
08:14I would think this, in all honesty.
08:19What would piss Deion off is the way they attacked his kid about all of that stuff.
08:31That he, oh, he had a bad interview, and a bad this, and a bad that, and how everybody just went after his kid, right?
08:38And didn't have somebody the same damn age, and they just call him a knucklehead young person, right?
08:48And everybody to move on.
08:50I think that would bother him more than anything.
08:53It's not even that it was a prank call.
08:56It's not even words.
08:57But the fact that his son, who is the same age as this kid, just got treated, I can't think of the last time
09:07everybody went after a player in the draft like they went after him, right?
09:15Good or bad.
09:15Whether you're going to draft him or not, you didn't have to go after him to try to justify it.
09:19Just don't draft him.
09:20But everybody wanted to justify it, so they basically went after him.
09:26And I would say that for somebody and a coach to have a kid the same damn age and to say, oh, I called and apologized.
09:34Oopsie.
09:36That's the part.
09:37But it's still, you can't say there's no accountability for it.
09:40Like, the team issued a statement.
09:41Like, it's obviously.
09:42That's not a statement.
09:43Obviously.
09:44A statement?
09:44When does a statement work with an athlete?
09:46When does a statement work with an athlete?
09:49Wait, stop it.
09:50Stop it.
09:51No.
09:52What are you talking about?
09:53I don't even understand.
09:53Like, what is your argument here?
09:55If the team puts out an official on letterhead that we put out an apology because our defensive coordinator's son hacked an iPad.
10:04By the way, this is not fun.
10:05Do you know how embarrassing that is?
10:06This is not fun, guys.
10:07I see a lot of people in the chat saying it's fun.
10:10No.
10:11Because this guy is waiting for the opportunity.
10:13It's a big dream.
10:14Like, you wouldn't want that to happen.
10:15If you were waiting for your big job.
10:17No, no.
10:17Like, if they had a big job interview and they're waiting for that call to say they got hired, you're not wanting somebody to prank you.
10:24Like, don't think, oh, guys, oh, what's the lecture about?
10:29Nah, fam.
10:29Like, you wouldn't want that.
10:31You wouldn't want that for your child.
10:32That's why I'm saying when you guys are just taking the explanation at its word, like, that's very generous of you to think that Olbrook didn't give his son the number for goofs.
10:41But if there was as much backlash as has been reported around the league at Shador Sanders, who's to say some coaches in a jerk?
10:51We saw a coach do a yayo off of his desk.
10:55These are not well-behaved people all the time.
10:57You would think it's that crazy to think that Olbrook meathead defensive coordinator is like, son, son, son.
11:03Here's a funny joke.
11:04Here's Shador Sanders' number.
11:05They're sitting in the same room all day, bored.
11:09Let's see if it comes through.
11:10Now, the part of it is your son can't be a dumbass and videotape himself, which, of course.
11:15That's what they do.
11:16That's what they do.
11:18That's what they do.
11:19But I'm telling you, if they find out that Olbrook, that he didn't steal the number from Olbrook and that he actually gave the number to his son.
11:27Yeah, then there will be consequences for it.
11:29I doubt it.
11:30Cats think it's not.
11:31It's not funny, bro.
11:32It's not funny.
11:33I mean, I don't like again.
11:35It had humor to it, right?
11:44But you have to understand as a society how we attack these athletes that are the same damn age as this kid and the prank he pulled.
11:56And you can say, oh, he's not, somebody said, oh, he's not going under center and get millions to play quarterback.
12:06It doesn't change the age that you are and your mentality.
12:11Hell, you would think Josh should know right now, no gun references after being suspended for taking a picture with a gun.
12:20But guess what?
12:22He came through with a better celebration anyway.
12:24Right.
12:28Man, that's going to slap at the Kaseya Center next year.
12:30Right.
12:30I can't wait to throw the maids.
12:32Like his chest on the court when he fell?
12:34So, I just, you know, I'm just that amazed that if an athlete were to do something along that line, right, then we would be calling for some heads to roll.
12:53And now that this is the kid or the coach who's the same age, we want to just chalk it off to being funny.
13:02Right.
13:02I like, oh, I don't think it is because he's not apologizing.
13:04Like, obviously, people were pissed off about it.
13:06There's not statements from the team if it's if people weren't pissed off about it.
13:10No, I got you.
13:12But I don't, but I, but to this point, I don't, what do you do for some punk kid who has no consequences in his life?
13:17I don't know what the punishment is, I guess, hey, Oldbrook, Jax Oldbrook, I guess you're never getting a job in the NFL if that's what he has things to aspire for.
13:28I don't know what some dope has, you know, as his, as his next profession.
13:36I'm going to find out, Jeff, if you, if you send him that phone number, if you did.
