00:00From calorie count to portion sizes,
00:02we wanted to find all the differences
00:03between Burger King in the U.S. and Mexico.
00:06This is Food Wars.
00:10In the U.S., our drinks come in four sizes.
00:13Unless you get it on Uber Eats, then you only get two.
00:16So today, I do have our medium and large.
00:19In Mexico, drinks come in three different sizes.
00:22Chico, which is small, mediano, medium,
00:26or grande, which is large.
00:30Yeah, come on, it's not even 32.
00:32It's probably 38, looks like 31 from my angle.
00:35I'm generous, it's gonna go 31,
00:36but that's still way, way less than it's supposed to be.
00:39All right, passing the 400, passing the 500 milliliters,
00:44passing the 600 milliliters, exactly to 700 milliliters.
00:50Burger King, we're missing some soda here.
00:52Mexico and USA, one thing we can unanimously agree on
00:56is that Burger King's drinks are not as much as advertised.
00:59Shame on you, Burger King, in both countries.
01:02In Mexico, fries come in three different sizes,
01:04small, medium, and large.
01:06Burger King fries in the U.S. also come in four sizes,
01:09and poof, we only got two.
01:11Again, Uber Eats.
01:13Why only the medium and large?
01:15So the large fries comes up to 125 grams.
01:19I will weigh our medium and large now, 138 grams.
01:23This is more than their biggest.
01:25That's really funny.
01:26Our large 168.
01:29In the U.S., we have three nugget size options.
01:34Down here, you can get yourself a four-piece,
01:36double it, pass it on, you get yourself an eight-piece,
01:38double it and pass it on, a 16-piece.
01:41We count, it came in bags, we count it.
01:42It's the right amount.
01:44In Mexico, you can only get one size of chicken nuggets,
01:48the 10-piece nuggets.
01:51Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez.
01:57Yay!
02:01Here's everything you can find in a menu
02:03at a U.S. Burger King and not in Mexico.
02:06Here is everything you find in a menu in Mexico,
02:08but you won't find in the USA.
02:10Here in the U.S., we have quite a few burgers
02:12you can't get in Mexico.
02:13This is a selection of some of them.
02:15Starting down here, a Whopper.
02:17Wait.
02:18If we notice on the website,
02:20in Mexico, currently, the Whopper is a Whopper with cheese.
02:24So I'm assuming if you want to get a Whopper
02:26with no cheese in Mexico, you'd have to go,
02:28give me a Whopper with cheese, hold the cheese.
02:29Here, it's opposite, where you get a Whopper,
02:31and if you want it with cheese, you ask for cheese.
02:33Our standard Whopper doesn't come with cheese.
02:35Their standard does, so exclusive.
02:37Now, both have a double Whopper,
02:39but we in America have a triple Whopper,
02:41which, as you guessed, is three patties of beef.
02:45What are you doing, Burger King?
02:47This is way too much beef.
02:48The beef to toppings and everything else ratio,
02:50way off, way too much. Skip it.
02:52Also, ooh, yeah, the Bacon King.
02:54They got two patties, bacon,
02:57and the burgers suddenly get a lot smaller.
03:00Bacon double cheeseburger, two patties of beef and bacon.
03:03I feel like these are getting smaller.
03:05I feel like they're subtly making these a little bit smaller,
03:07maybe because I've never seen one next to a bigger sandwich,
03:09but if that's too much beef and cheese,
03:14get a bacon cheeseburger.
03:15And then moving down here, like we're just,
03:17we're shedding, filling as we move this way.
03:20This is, what is this, this double cheeseburger?
03:22Ah, we got rid of the bacon.
03:24Just double, this stuff is all stuck together.
03:26And finally, what do we think this is gonna be?
03:28I think we're just getting down to cheeseburger, yeah.
03:30Here we have all the exclusive beef burgers
03:32that you can find in Mexico.
03:34Extreme, Whopper Barbecue, Whopper JalapeƱo Popper,
03:39Angry Whopper, Whopper with Cheese,
03:42Stacker King, Stacker Chipotle, Big King, and Long Rodeo.
03:48Let's talk about the Stacker King.
03:50Look at this huge burger.
03:53This one has three meats,
03:55but you actually can get it with four meats,
03:56so it would be probably huge.
04:01That was a lot of meat.
04:02This is definitely a beef burger.
04:06Let's talk about the Stacker Chipotle.
04:08This one has two meats, onion rings, bacon, cheese,
04:13and chipotle salsa.
04:14I'm just gonna try the salsa
04:16to see if it's actually spicy.
04:19Okay, it has like a little spice aftertaste.
04:25The meat has some like something like hard.
04:31It was nasty.
04:32We move on to the Long Rodeo.
04:35It's like a mix between a sandwich and a burger.
04:37It has cheese, barbecue sauce, and onion rings.
04:41This is the Whopper JalapeƱo Popper.
04:43Look at this burger.
04:44It actually looks super big as well.
04:46I can see some lettuce, mayo.
04:49What is this?
04:52These are the JalapeƱo Poppers?
04:55Mmm.
04:58You also have some JalapeƱo, bacon, and cheese.
05:03I like the JalapeƱo.
05:04You give it like the spicy vibe from Mexico.
05:08Also the JalapeƱo croquettes or whatever this is,
05:12the JalapeƱo Poppers, it's actually super good.
05:14Yo, that JalapeƱo Popper burger looks good.
05:18I would like to try that.
05:18That seems like something we would do here in the US.
05:20Both US and Mexico have a plant-based burger.
05:24Here, ours is called the Impossible Whopper
05:26because it's made with a branded plant-based meat
05:29by Impossible Foods.
05:31Let's take a look at that.
05:32A Whopper.
05:33I mean, I would think that that was beef.
05:35Oh, actually, on this side, not so much.
05:36Because this side had the grill marks.
05:38I'm like, yeah, that looks right.
05:39And then this side, ugh.
05:41In Mexico, we call it Whopper Vegetal,
05:43and the body is processed by a company
05:45called The Vegetarian Butcher.
05:49This actually tastes like regular meat.
05:51Like, actually, if I didn't know this was a veggie burger,
05:54I would think it's just a regular beef burger.
05:56On to the chicken and fish options.
05:59Starting down here, you can get a BK Royal crispy chicken.
06:03Now, I don't know how it is down in Mexico,
06:05but here in the US, we've been fighting
06:07this chicken sandwich war for seemingly years now.
06:11Every fast food chain suddenly had a bunch of varieties
06:14of chicken sandwich.
06:14It used to be one, and every place has, like,
06:17five or six at least.
06:18Yeah, it's a crispy chicken sandwich.
06:19Looks like a pretty good piece of meat.
06:20It's drowning in this mayo.
06:22Lettuce and tomato.
06:23I don't know why exactly makes this a royal.
06:26You can also get a spicy version of it.
06:28You can tell it's spicy, because it's redder, right?
06:31Here's a weird thing, bacon and Swiss.
06:33I mean, bacon and Swiss are fine.
06:35That seems like a weird choice
06:36for their third chicken sandwich.
06:38Out of all the ones you had,
06:39the bacon and Swiss is the one that survived.
06:41Down here, though, this has been on the menu for a while,
06:43the original chicken sandwich, the tubular one.
06:47They pretty much made a McChicken in a different shape.
06:49They also have wraps at Burger King right now.
06:51This is the classic BK Royal crispy wrap.
06:53I'm assuming it's this in wrap form.
06:56And moving on from land to sea,
06:58you can get yourself a big fish burger.
07:01Ah, yes, fish, the chicken of the sea.
07:03Why is it square?
07:04There's no square fish.
07:05And McDonald's is the same thing.
07:06I've not been clear on why we just unanimously agreed
07:09that a processed fish sandwich is a square.
07:12We also have some exclusive chicken sandwiches.
07:14Three cheese and bacon, a spicy ranch,
07:17classic crispy king, king of chicken,
07:19and we also have another option that, unfortunately,
07:22they didn't have it in the menu this time,
07:24which is the crispy chicken with cheese.
07:27Burger King in the U.S. has always had
07:29a very extensive breakfast menu.
07:31Now, I wasn't gonna get everything today.
07:33I just got a few of the mains.
07:35Down at this end, like any good fast food burger place,
07:38they got breakfast sandwiches.
07:40You can get their breakfast sandwiches
07:41in either biscuit or croissant form.
07:44Start with the biscuit.
07:45The one I got today, I believe,
07:46was the regular sausage, egg, and cheese.
07:49I'm not quite sure.
07:49These are just so dry, they're impossible to eat.
07:52What I do like a lot more, though,
07:54are these, the croissandwiches.
07:57A croissant sandwich croissandwich.
08:01It's not bad.
08:02Delivers what it promises.
08:04Hey, Mexico, guess what?
08:05You can get breakfast burritos at our Burger King's.
08:08First, we have the small one.
08:09I guess it's the regular or breakfast burrito junior.
08:12Cheese, hash brown, half a sausage, and egg.
08:16Look in there.
08:17This is the junior one, by the way.
08:19If you want the big boy,
08:20they have the egg-normous burrito.
08:22Oh, this one has bacon, though.
08:24Sausage and bacon, cheese, egg, tater tots.
08:27You've seen them already inside the burritos.
08:29Here they are outside of the burritos.
08:31The, I guess, tater tots, breakfast tots, potato tots.
08:36We'll go ahead and call them hash browns.
08:37Get them small, medium, large.
08:39Comes with any one of the sandwiches as a side.
08:41I do like them, easier to eat.
08:43And we also have something down here
08:44that I think it's a pretty good idea.
08:45I don't know if I'm completely sold on its taste.
08:48Don't know how popular French toast is in Mexico,
08:50but here people love it.
08:52But usually a French toast is, you know, the toast squares.
08:55You get a brunch, powdered sugar.
08:57You sit down in front of it, et cetera.
08:59Burger King went ahead and put it in stick form
09:02and gives you a syrup dipping sauce.
09:04How do I feel about this?
09:05It's an inventive idea.
09:07I don't know how many of the places are doing this,
09:08but it's funny to be like,
09:10how can we take something that's popular at breakfast
09:12and make it, like, accessible to eat
09:15on the train or in your car?
09:18I don't dislike it.
09:19If you're interested, check them out,
09:21but me personally, I think they're just okay.
09:23You also can get some breakfast options
09:25in Burger King, Mexico.
09:26Actually, some of these are supposed to have eggs on it,
09:28but we got there too late
09:30and they didn't have any more eggs.
09:32This is the premium breakfast.
09:34This is the king breakfast.
09:35This is the meat lover's breakfast.
09:38Hot cakes, extra long egg and bacon,
09:41ham and cheese croissant, and egg croissant.
09:44We have a lot of exclusive sides in the U.S.,
09:46starting down here with chicken fries.
09:48Fries? Uh-uh, chicken fries.
09:50You thought this was a regular fry?
09:53Take a closer look, Mexico.
09:55Take a closer look.
09:58That's chicken meat, baby.
10:00Hmm.
10:01Depending on what part of the country you're currently in,
10:03you can get ghost pepper chicken fries.
10:06We did not have them.
10:07Wasn't available where we're at.
10:08We do, however, have these, like, fiery nuggets.
10:13Feel a little bit in the back of my throat.
10:14Definitely has a nice flavor to it.
10:16These are not tater tots.
10:17These are cheesy tots,
10:18which I'm assuming means that they have cheese
10:19in the middle of them.
10:21I mean, they have mozzarella sticks, too.
10:24Throwing marmodeo to bone.
10:26Here's something for the kids.
10:27Good on you.
10:28You can also get a dipping marinara sauce.
10:30Our exclusive sites in Mexico are boneless barbecue,
10:34boneless buffalo, boneless Carolina Reaper sauce,
10:37and Supreme Pops.
10:38I'm gonna show you the Supreme Pops.
10:40Supreme Pops are fries with barbecue sauce,
10:43bacon, and onions.
10:46Just another option for fries.
10:48Okay, so this is one of the boneless
10:50with Carolina Reaper sauce.
10:52These are supposed to be, like, super spicy.
10:54I'm gonna try it right now.
11:00It's actually spicy, like, very spicy.
11:05It's getting there.
11:06Okay.
11:07Looking for something a little sweet here in the U.S.
11:09We have a few exclusive desserts.
11:10Starting down here, it's the Sunday pie.
11:13Not Sunday of the day of the week,
11:16but Sunday like an ice cream sundae, right?
11:18Yo.
11:20Ooh.
11:23And that is what I'm talking about.
11:25Also, what they have in the U.S. is a Oreo shake.
11:30Ladies and gentlemen, I say this all the time.
11:32I feel it bears repeating.
11:34I didn't know this until I started doing this show,
11:35and now that I know this,
11:36it has changed my entire outlook
11:39on popular cookie-brand branded shakes
11:42at all the fast food places.
11:44The thing about this that you need to understand, Mexico,
11:46is that this isn't a vanilla shake
11:48with, I guess, like, Oreo crumbles or anything in it.
11:51It's a shake.
11:51The cream flavoring of the cream inside an Oreo,
11:54is that what this is.
11:55So it's like an Oreo cream-filling flavored shake.
12:00And it's so fantastic.
12:01I almost always go for the Oreo shake.
12:03In Mexico, we love desserts,
12:05and you can find a lot of options in Burger King.
12:07Here we have two.
12:09This is the apple pie,
12:10and this is the Nutella King fusion.
12:13It has vanilla ice cream and Nutella sauce.
12:19Very tasty, very refreshing.
12:21I got sauces in front of me.
12:22You know what that means.
12:23It's time for sauce talk.
12:27Sauce talk.
12:29Exclusive sauces here in the U.S.
12:31Starting down here, our barbecue sauce.
12:34The standard barbecue sauce across all fast food places
12:37is always the sweet, the sweet barbecue,
12:41which I'm fine with.
12:42It's great.
12:43Buffalo sauce, better for Dunkin' chicken,
12:45but I don't know if I would want that,
12:48anything other than chicken, but with fries is okay.
12:50Honey mustard sauce.
12:52Don't know why honey mustard got so popular.
12:53I'm not into it.
12:54Sweet and sour?
12:56Yeah, sweet and sour's nice.
12:57Ranch.
12:58We love our ranch.
12:59We're dipping everything in ranch.
13:01To me, ranch tastes the same pretty much everywhere,
13:03but I will say that ranch is actually pretty good.
13:08Jalapeno sauce,
13:10mayonnaise,
13:12mustard,
13:15ketchup,
13:18sweet and sour sauce,
13:21barbecue sauce,
13:22and maple syrup.
13:25And maple syrup.
13:26We have so many exclusive drinks here in the United States.
13:30We have Coke products.
13:31You can get Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola, Zero Sugar,
13:34Dr. Pepper, which I did get,
13:35because I love Dr. Pepper.
13:37Mmm, mmm.
13:38We also have Fanta Orange.
13:40Yo!
13:42We also have Sprite.
13:44Burger King also has frozen drinks.
13:46We have a Coca-Cola one and a Wild Cherry one.
13:49So I haven't touched these,
13:51but they have melted since we've been shooting.
13:54But I do recall these showing up looking like this, right?
13:57Yeah, these weren't, these weren't at no point nice.
14:00We also have these Honest Kids apple juices.
14:03We also have BK iced coffee.
14:08Ugh!
14:08And get a bottle of water.
14:10Our drink options are 7-Up, Pepsi,
14:15Manzanita Sol, which is apple soda,
14:18Merinda, which is orange soda,
14:21just regular water, and orange juice.
14:24Manzanita Sol.
14:25So this right here is Manzanita Sol,
14:28which is an apple soda.
14:30It's very popular in Mexico.
14:32Everybody knows Manzanita Sol.
14:34And yeah, you usually drink it when it's a hot day
14:36and you wanna refresh your body.
14:39Merinda right here.
14:40This is an orange soda.
14:42It's super popular.
14:43Actually, I used to drink a lot of this
14:45when I was a little kid.
14:46This is, yeah, super popular as well.
14:49And it's very tasty.
14:52Let's compare the nutrition of foods
14:54available in both countries.
14:56On the Mexico Burger King website,
14:58some of the nutritional food is listed and some is not.
15:01Some of the items will list the calories
15:03and others will not.
15:04And even when you can see the calories,
15:06there is no other information provided.
15:07The Double Whopper contains a thousand calories,
15:10which is a lot.
15:12The U.S. provides all its nutritional information
15:14on its website.
15:15So you can see that the Double Whopper burger
15:17contains 920 calories, 58 grams of total fat,
15:2154 grams of carbs, 13 grams of sugar,
15:24and oh boy, 1,240 milligrams of sodium.
15:29But you're wondering, I want calories.
15:32Burger King has you covered with,
15:34just slide it over, ha-ha.
15:36Oh, the Bacon King Burger.
15:40How about it, internet, you want to guess
15:41how many calories this are?
15:42I'll tell you in three.
15:45Wrong.
15:451,200 calories in this one sandwich.
15:50In Mexico, there is a premium breakfast,
15:52which contained 1,023 calories.
15:58Burger King first came to Mexico in 1991.
16:01There are 413 Burger King restaurants throughout Mexico,
16:05which is an iota of the 6,729 Burger King restaurants
16:10in the U.S.
16:11In Mexico, 22,000 Whoppers are sold every day.
16:14And in the world, it's over 5 1ā2 million.
16:18The three best-selling burgers in Mexico
16:20are the Whopper, Whopper with cheese, and cheeseburger.
16:23By every metric, you can measure both Burger King
16:26and McDonald's by McDonald's is winning.
16:29With the exception, I would say the Whopper
16:30and maybe one or two other things
16:32on the Burger King menu we've seen today,
16:34there's nothing at a Burger King
16:36that you can't get a better version of at a McDonald's
16:39or a Wendy's or even the Chick-fil-A.
16:42Burger King has been trying to adapt
16:44to the Mexican food culture.
16:45In 2022, they added guacamole to the burgers,
16:49what I think is a very good option
16:50because we love guacamole.
16:53If you've ever been in Mexico City,
16:54you know traffic is insane.
16:56In 2019, there was a campaign from Burger King
16:59where you can order your food
17:00and you can get delivered straight to your car in the traffic.
17:04It was called the Traffic Jam Whopper.
17:06For that, you have to order the food through their app.
17:09There is a catch though.
17:10The app have to see that you were stuck in traffic
17:12for more than 30 minutes
17:14and that there was a Burger King
17:15within 1.8 mile of your car.
17:18And the campaign only lasted one month.
17:20But I think it was a great idea
17:21considering the bad traffic in Mexico City.
17:26We compared some of Burger King's classic menu items
17:29to see if there's any difference in price.
17:31Here we have the BK Whopper.
17:33In the US, it'll cost you $7.89.
17:38Since we only have the Whopper with cheese,
17:40we're gonna use this one as a reference.
17:42In Mexico, this costs 99 pesos or $5.71.
17:47So we have more cheese, but it's still cheaper here.
17:51Oops, one more time.
17:55One more time.
