00:00The government is set to launch the Bente Bigasmo rice sale starting on Labor Day, May 1st, offering rice at just P20 pesos per kilo.
00:10The program will first row out in Cebu province with sales expanding to Kadiwa ng Pangulo centers across the country beginning the 2nd of May.
00:19According to the Department of Agriculture or DA, consumers from the vulnerable sectors such as solo parents,
00:25persons with disabilities, the poor, and senior citizens will be allowed to purchase up to 30 kilos of rice per month, equivalent to P600 pesos.
00:36Meanwhile, the palace clarified that the affordable rice will come directly from local farmers' harvests
00:41and guaranteed that the program will be sustainable until the end of 2025.
