00:00...relationship moving forward.
00:02Mr. Jacobs, thank you for joining us here for further questions.
00:06My first question is, you said that tariffs is a bad idea, and your companion as well.
00:12How do you see the possibility of a Congress to bring that tariffs down?
00:17Because it seems like you have a president right now who are mostly ruled by decret,
00:21and I mean, then you must be in a difficult situation where you are right now.
00:26Congress has been given the power pursuant to the Constitution and under law
00:33to decide the appropriateness of when tariffs should be utilized.
00:39It's fair to say that all of us within the Democratic Party have been very clear at home in America
00:48and as we've communicated with people abroad,
00:51that the manner in which the current tariff regime has been imposed,
01:00including on allies, is not in the best interests of the people we represent in America
01:08and will undermine core relationships that we have had with people across the world,
01:15including here in Denmark.
01:16It's going to fall on Congress to reassert our constitutional responsibility
01:23if we find ourselves continuing to go down this road with an executive that is acting alone
01:34and, in our view, respectfully, not in the best interest of the American people,
01:40certainly our allies in North America, or our allies here in Europe.
01:46Okay.
01:47Okay.
