00:00Sorry, one last question. If Trump decides to move on and he wants to take over Greenland, can you do anything about it?
00:10It's not my expectation that he will unilaterally and aggressively move on Greenland.
00:18And I think it's important to separate his rhetoric from his actions.
00:25Thanks. We'll go back to the side and then we'll alternate.
00:28Staying on Greenland, Denmark has announced new military investments in Greenland and obviously the United States has a strategic interest there.
00:40Now, under the 1951 agreement, do you think it would present day make sense to increase U.S. military presence there?
00:52Is that something you've discussed with the dangerous issues of the administration?
00:58There was no specific discussion of that other than, you know, a full and complete understanding of what the 1951 agreement permits.
01:07Any decision about what's in the best interest of our collective security should be made by military and defense professionals.
01:15In the United States, of course, in partnership with our allies.
01:21But it is important to note there are increasing challenges in the Arctic region.
01:28Challenges that are presented by China and its aspirations, as well as, of course, by Russia.
01:36And increased military presence and cooperation is a subject that, on the merits, should be discussed for the good of everyone.
