A Pembrokeshire primary school was still due to open today, after an incident over the weekend, when parts of the premises and playground were flooded with sewage after a sewer main burst.
Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water confirmed its teams were at Broad Haven Primary School on Saturday and Sunday, to repair the burst main pipe; and conduct deep cleaning and disinfecting.
Local Councillor Nick Neumann said the pipe, which carries sewage waste from the village up to the sewage works, had burst on Saturday.
A spokesperson for Welsh Water said: "The affected area has been isolated and made safe, and resurfacing will take please early next week.
“We have been liaising with education officials, and this will not impact the planned school reopening. The whole yard has been cleaned and sanitised and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
