00:00When we last contested these elections four years ago, the Conservatives did unbelievably
00:03well, so defending that high watermark was always going to be difficult. As far as reform is
00:08concerned, we saw at the general election last year that where people who were sort of on the
00:14right of centre voted reform, very often what they got was a Labour or a Lib Dem MP. People
00:20voting reform unfortunately handed Keir Starmer that landslide victory last year, and it remains
00:26true today that a vote for reform risks letting Labour or the Lib Dems in. These are going
00:31to be challenging elections for us because the last time these seats were contested, we
00:35did unbelievably and fabulously well. But look, where Conservatives run local councils, we deliver
00:40lower council tax, we deliver better services. Just look at the mess Labour have made in Birmingham
00:45where the bins aren't being collected, if you want any evidence of that. So I hope that
00:49when people cast their votes on Thursday, they think about the fact that Conservative councils
00:53deliver lower tax and better services. We're contesting pretty much every single one of
00:58these 1,600 council seats. We are here to win, we're here to put Conservative policies into
01:04practice. Reform have said they want to destroy the Conservative Party, so it's a little hard
01:08to see how a deal could be done in those circumstances.
