00:01:53and then set the winner up for 3-2 people sort of ask me how i describe my game i just say simple
00:02:02hello good afternoon we have reached the final stages of the season with lots still to be settled
00:02:10across the leagues this weekend as well as two massive fa cup semi-finals that are taking place
00:02:15we'll have all that and much more on today's football focus ellen white and shea given are
00:02:19poised and ready to go in the studio so let's get straight to it okay let's begin with the premier
00:02:24league here's the weekend's fixtures chelsea versus everton is first up we'll have team news from
00:02:30that one shortly four games taking place at three ipswich have to win at newcastle to have a chance of
00:02:35staying up walls have survived in star will be there shortly ahead of their game against leicester
00:02:40two premier league games tomorrow bournemouth against manchester united is at two and at 4 30
00:02:46liverpool need just the point to seal the title at home to spurs
00:02:50well victory at old trafford last sunday made it five top flight wins in a row for wolves
00:02:56it's the first time they've done that since 1970 guaranteeing their place in the premier league for next
00:03:01season that was vito pereira's brief when he's arrived in december so to celebrate kelly summers
00:03:07took him to the pub for a chat okay vito for most important question first what are you drinking
00:03:18a pint okay and now you've kind of become synonymous with that haven't you because
00:03:23there's a banner at molyneux points then pints and the points have certainly been coming so imagine
00:03:28the points have as well what has it been about coming to the pubs in wolverhampton that you've
00:03:32enjoyed so much since you've been here because you know i like to be with the with the supporters i
00:03:38like to to feel the the happiness to see the smiling faces i joke with with the pints but i want to
00:03:48feel myself like one of them i want to recharge me with this energy because when you feel that you
00:03:56can make happy a lot of people this is the best energy that we need that i need to work and to
00:04:04be in my best level let's take you back to your arrival here at wolves and the club were in the
00:04:09relegation zone four points from safety it looked a really tough job on paper what was it about coming
00:04:15here that appealed to you i look like young very young but i'm not i'm not for me is not the first time
00:04:25that i arrived in a club and i need to do something to create impact but the impact must be emotional
00:04:32when you arrive and we don't have the results the players i felt that in that time that they can do
00:04:40better they can play in better level but they were not in in the in the conditions in the mental
00:04:48conditions to be themselves because of the results we start to rebuild this confidence it means that
00:04:57they start to feel we can and this is a bit the slogan we can together we can
00:05:04how important was january and the recruitment you and the club work together to do to help you build
00:05:17what you have built here in that time we realized that when we play against the other teams we need
00:05:24more physicality on the on the pitch we need two or three players to compete we work together with the
00:05:31club to find the right players and my opinion when we start to build a team we need to build the how do
00:05:41you say the spine the spine if we are strong in the spine after we can go for the the profile of
00:05:49the player to decide the game can you retrieve he's been so important for you this season but what's
00:06:10he like for you to manage because he's a big player with a big personality in the end
00:06:15they are persons and what they need is love we know that sometimes we commit mistakes in our life
00:06:26this is our opportunity to to grow up as a person and to be better in the in the next uh the next step i
00:06:34hope that he learned the lesson you know sometimes the the emotions they they come out of ourselves but in the end
00:06:44kuni is a fantastic player we'll see if he'll stay or not if uh he leaves i wish him the best if he stay
00:06:53i wish him the best but honestly i believe that we'll build a strong team for next season
00:07:05has it lived up to all of your expectations and can you see yourself staying here at wolves for the long term
00:07:13i didn't come to england just to to to avoid the relegation this is not for me this is not for me i want
00:07:20to to build something stronger and i hope i can do it in the moment this is the league that i want to be
00:07:29for a long long long time do you want the better news of the interview now i think there's a pint
00:07:35ready for you you you will surprise me with something now with a gift there we go thank you
00:07:40very much thank you very much thank you and you water yeah water for me i'm driving cheers congratulations
00:07:45cheers it's just the milky cup of tea for us here in the studio floor manager will's going to be gutted
00:07:54i've just said that's milky tea my bad put that down but ellen how big of an achievement is it
00:08:00considering where they were when he took over yeah it's a ridiculous achievement they were 19th in
00:08:06the premier league only won two games under gary o'neill and he's completely transformed this wolves
00:08:12team and you know we can see from the graphic here 17 games 29 points his points per game is
00:08:19far exceeding all those other managers and to progress up the table to avoid relegation you've
00:08:25got to win games haven't you ultimately and he's built that team intensity um and just more goals in
00:08:31the team but then also a community for wolverhampton as well and i love the first the points then the
00:08:37pipes i just love it but yeah he just seems like he wants to bring that togetherness for that whole
00:08:41community and you can see that on and off the pitch as well because i think that you need everyone on
00:08:45side and be behind you but how has he done it on the pitch che well i think a little bit of recruitment
00:08:50in january as well has helped uh agbadoo and and minetze have been been big part of that um and how they
00:08:56want to defend i think any team struggling at the bottom league have to be defensively solid and i think
00:09:00he's brought that defensive sort of base you'll see here you know without the ball that you've got
00:09:04the five across the back you know you're two midfielders and then you're three more attacking
00:09:08players on the right side of the shot there but you know i mentioned agbadoo there at the start of it
00:09:12he's been an absolute snippet of a bargain i think it's 16 or 17 million to pay for him but brilliant
00:09:16defensively that's what you want from your center half but this guy can play football as well this is
00:09:21your wing backs you know pressing high up the pitch eight and nori this time you know he sprays it out
00:09:25wide you probably look at you know uh perere again he's he's um agbadoo's taking andre and he's
00:09:30actually that good on the ball the center half he's telling the midfield i want you just to clear
00:09:34the gap so i can zing it into cunha's feet and obviously everyone speaks about wolves to speak
00:09:38about cunha and i don't know how long he's going to be there but he's he's a real sort of star within
00:09:42this team and then you talk about the press alex you know without the ball can they press high up
00:09:46the pitch two right they can they're pressing all over the pitch look at the players they're all
00:09:50raring to go there too many pressing the one ball and again this guy munetzi he he's one of the main
00:09:55sort of presses of their team and and again you talk about managers and recruitment and in the
00:10:00in the january one to really help this team this is in the 90th minute you know players are knackered
00:10:04at this point watch his press i'm nearly knackered watching him he's like running the whole way across
00:10:08the pitch and he's still pressing sometimes you see players pressing one or two he's pressed about four
00:10:12or five players forcing a long ball up the pitch and they won the ball high up the pitch this is against
00:10:16aston villa you know again a big midlands derby of course and we know how well they're doing look
00:10:22look how the press in the back of center half's all over all over the attacking players and then can
00:10:25they play when they won the ball high up the pitch watch this this is i don't know a man's city or a
00:10:29liverpool or or an arsenal we're going what a brilliant goal this is bella guy with the finish but
00:10:34one and two touch one and two touch football alex is absolutely brilliant and again there's a clear
00:10:39message with and without the ball how good they are and and he's you know as ellen said that the job he's
00:10:43done is just remarkable and that sort of graphs with all the managers have just come in yeah he's
00:10:48been top of that chart because he's just he's just transformed them and and he's even said he wants
00:10:52to be in the premier league for a long number of years and he's and he's done himself no harm at all
00:10:55has he yeah definitely and it's like from all those clips that you were just going through they're all
00:10:59hunting impacts yeah it's like everyone knows their jobs but ultimately like you said it's about
00:11:03winning games ellen and having a striker that can put the ball in the back of the net and they have that now
00:11:08exactly and strand larson and i really like he's almost like a bit of an old school kind of center
00:11:13forward he's tall but then he's always watching what's happening in a game constantly watching
00:11:18where can i go what can i do just nips in front of the center half that's a beautiful finish but
00:11:23he's always wanting maybe to find maybe one or two yards he just comes off the center halves there and
00:11:28just finds that space but then he's got really cute technique where he just takes small touches
00:11:34shoots really early this is against west ham so i don't really want to be watching this one
00:11:37um but i just like how he's behind the center half just walk in and then bang he's straight into the
00:11:43action out of his feet goal and this this one again he's just watching what's happening and
00:11:49and for for walls you need obviously a striker to score goals to avoid relegation i think he's been
00:11:54great he's obviously on loan at the moment but i just feel like he's been phenomenal for walls to see
00:11:5812 goals in the premier league five and five this one nobody thinks nori is going to going to nick the
00:12:04the ball he does and he's in great space and obviously it's a lovely tap in for a center forward
00:12:08as well it almost takes the pressure off the rest of the team when you know you've got a striker
00:12:12that's clinical like that you mentioned uh kunya i mean there's links as well there's talks about he
00:12:18may be linked elsewhere maybe possibly manchester united but how much of a loss would that be when
00:12:24we've just spoke about how they are building this team in this dynamic well i think that's sort of their
00:12:29their business model isn't it last year they lost you know kilman they lost netto and then they
00:12:33rebuilt again and the likes of of kunya it's like a diamond a rough diamond they bring into the club
00:12:37they polish him and then they sell him for big money and i think obviously you're right manchester
00:12:41neither heavily linked with with him and probably could do with some sort of the striking options
00:12:44as well but i suppose he's a bit of a maverick as well you know can can for example ruben amory
00:12:49manage him as well as as uh vitor has so be interesting to see what's this space watch this space
00:12:55certainly well walls face already relegated leicester today and sarah mulkerins is at molyneux so let's get over
00:13:00to her right now hello sarah good afternoon welcome to a very sunny molyneux stadium wolverhampton are
00:13:08going to play leicester today alex and there's a real good feel around this ground at the moment
00:13:13they are finishing the season strong delighted to be joined by liam keen journalist from the express and
00:13:18star liam you know this club inside out you cover them day to day tell me what the local feel is like
00:13:24about vitor perera the job he's done since he's come in yeah well obviously results are going to
00:13:29help aren't they and when you go five wins in a row six unbeaten the uh the feel good factor is going
00:13:34to be very high here it does also help when the manager's going out to pubs and meeting fans and
00:13:38going for pints and um i think what he's done is this is a this is a big club almost a sleeping giant
00:13:42in many ways but a very small city and you've got to try and embed yourself with those fans and
00:13:48vitor i think has done a fantastic job yes getting it right on the pitch first of all but off it
00:13:52making sure that he's embedded with those supporters as soon as you do that those guys in
00:13:56the terraces are going to love you and he's done a fantastic job yeah his first game in charge was
00:14:00actually against leicester in december they won then 3-0 and it's been such a journey and a turnaround
00:14:05the amount of points that they've picked up since i think it's been 29 or something so what do you
00:14:09think the atmosphere is like going to be like today when this could have actually been a relegation
00:14:13six-pointer yeah i mean we're looking at the switch game a couple weeks ago was as a big one had a
00:14:17little bit of edge to it still um but wolves obviously with the results and going into the game were
00:14:21we're clear after that game going into this one we expected a few months ago it to be a very very
00:14:26big fixture it's no longer that but what it is for wolves is an opportunity to continue this momentum
00:14:30because we saw under bruno large we saw under gary and neil at the end of their first seasons
00:14:35they both struggled had a really bad end to the campaign and it bled into the next season pre-season
00:14:40the summer going into the next campaign that's veto's biggest job now is to make sure that the
00:14:44momentum continues this season going into the summer going into the next campaign making sure that they
00:14:49can get the right players in and that's why today has to be an important game still because yes leicester
00:14:53are down but they're going to have a little bit of pride to play for um and wolves uh you know need
00:14:57to go and get some results still five games left to go and an opportunity to to continue to restore
00:15:02this confidence because that was the biggest problem earlier in the season and and veto's in
00:15:05a fantastic job of making sure those players believe in what they're doing yeah it's going to be a big
00:15:10summer in terms of the team that we we will see out there and i know vita prayer was talking about it in
00:15:14his interview mateus cunha obviously stealing all the headlines what do you think the fans views are
00:15:19on on him and him leaving and and well you know we we sense he's leaving he could well stay we know that
00:15:26but but how do the fans feel about that yeah i think the the first important thing to say is that
00:15:30in my opinion he's a world-class footballer um i think talent wise he has got all the ability to go
00:15:36and play for the biggest clubs in the world on the biggest stages um the problem has been some of the
00:15:41off-field stuff some of the arguments and social media um incidents with fans getting himself sent
00:15:47off from the violent conduct um that's my biggest concern for him going to the next club and we you
00:15:52know manchester united are interested we know other clubs are interested his people are making sure
00:15:56they're getting him out there understandably so to make sure they benefit the most from this move
00:16:00which we are expecting to happen with a 62 and a half million release clause in the summer um and that
00:16:05makes it a really tricky thing for the wolves fans because he's 14 goals in the premier league this
00:16:09season i played a massive part in wolf staying in the premier league equally there's maybe not been
00:16:14the relationship in the last few months that he would have wanted and the fans would have wanted
00:16:17i think in here today he'll get a good reception um deservedly so i think as well but he will leave
00:16:23if he does leave as you expect in the summer with a little bit of a um a sad feeling around the
00:16:28situation it could have ended on a better on a better footing what he can do in these five games
00:16:33is still going to score and make sure wolves win games well the fans would certainly enjoy that
00:16:36liam thank you very much for your time and we will have uh updates off this game of course on
00:16:40final score from half past two on the eye player so thank you very much let's talk about leicester
00:16:47jane rivardi ellen has announced that he will be leaving at the end of the season when his contract
00:16:51expires but i mean it's going to be a huge loss isn't it a huge departure for the club as well a huge
00:16:56departure for the club and also for what we've seen in the premier league some of his goals um as a
00:17:02striker oh my gosh some of the goals are just outrageous i bet you wouldn't have wanted to
00:17:08no brilliant player he's lit up the premier league hasn't he but just like i just think he's just so
00:17:13quick with his finishing so smart and we'll see this one against liverpool which i'm sure everyone
00:17:19will remember this volley is just outrageous oh it's just unbelievable i just think his technique and
00:17:25the number of years he's had in the premier league and just his goals that were so pivotal for
00:17:32for leicester obviously winning the premier league the fa cup as well i think he's just going to be
00:17:36a huge miss that one when it comes over his shoulder take that on the volley is just unbelievable so
00:17:41it's gonna be a huge miss to leicester and also to see him in the premier league as well and also kind
00:17:45of like the ian wright story where he came developed later on instead of those early years but he says
00:17:51he's not retiring no okay so what what's his next step uh well this morning's been nico rexson would
00:17:56you believe if they get up to the championship which will be big news uh i think mls has been
00:18:01mentioned as well but he's been a real character as much as anything a brilliant goal scorer but
00:18:05a real character for the premier league as well some of his goal celebrations are are pretty funny
00:18:09they are it's a nice little reminisce right there yeah um right there were three key games in the
00:18:14premier league this week so let's have a look at what happened
00:18:25alanga with the corner
00:18:28anderson fires forest in front early just elliott anderson's second goal of the season
00:18:37but how vital might it prove to be
00:18:42another chance for forest to continue applying the pressure alanga
00:18:49chris wood
00:18:51two nil forest and already a growing sense of optimism that the job will be done sufficiently
00:18:59for nottingham forest to return to the top four tonight
00:19:02the goal should just put doubts in the mind of nottingham forest as to whether or not they will
00:19:16secure the three points necessary
00:19:24city sitting high up on the aston villa defense marmouche has drifted out
00:19:30left trying to take on cash he's done well free ball it's gone through the goalkeeper and bernardo
00:19:36silver gives city the lead
00:19:40and the strike goes straight through the two-time world goalkeeper of the year
00:19:49villa on the break with rashford
00:19:52pantomime boos from the city crowd and jacob ramsey goes down in the box
00:19:56well the referee craig paulson has been told by his var john brooks to stop the game
00:20:04there is contact he has overruled his own decision it's a penalty to aston villa
00:20:13marcus rashford re-energized by his aston bill alone
00:20:20rashford is the villain at the etihad
00:20:22now doku he's beaten his man he's round the sazi this is why he was brought on outside of the boot pass
00:20:32it's in at the front post matthias nunez has won it for city pandemonium in the etihad
00:20:39outside of the boot from doku and nunez has so much to do
00:20:53odegaard with the free kick for arsenal oh good header wonderful goal
00:20:57jacob kivio gets the gunners off to a flyer and the pole puts arsenal in front in style
00:21:10walton to eza oh wonderful
00:21:16palace level thanks to an exceptional goal from impera eza
00:21:23timber
00:21:23trossar nice turn oh yes leandro trossar restores arsenal's lead
00:21:36trossar into double figures this season now after collecting cutting inside and steering inside the post
00:21:50so
00:21:56oh given away to mateta and john philip mateta goes for goal oh my word magnificent from mateta
00:22:05to draw palace level late on they have scored two absolute peaches tonight and it's two each
00:22:20i mean what a goal but um shay why are you laughing because you know this is heartbreaking
00:22:24don't you look more drop points for arsenal um is it disappointing when you look at their season
00:22:30really and that they should have been mounting more of a challenge towards liverpool well if you look at
00:22:34the league title obviously if you add the i know simplicity is you've dropped 18 points from winning
00:22:39positions if you if you add that to the league title now they'd be they'd be uh i think it's six points
00:22:42clear of liverpool but the premier league is never that simple i think arteta will look back at the
00:22:47season as he does probably all seasons where they can improve but it's not the worst that they have
00:22:51you know you get yourself in front winning positions um i think it's obvious for me that what arsenal
00:22:55need is a new a new striker someone at a focal point of the team do you not feel they've been saying
00:22:59that for years though yeah we have and i'll keep saying it until he gets one because i don't know if
00:23:03it feels like there's a blind spot or he doesn't want to do it and the more we talk about it the more
00:23:06sort of some things managers be stubborn goes no i'm happy with a sort of false number nine but
00:23:11i think it's um you know next season they'll come back if they can recruit again in the summer and
00:23:15and challenge liverpool at the very top well liverpool only need a point up against spurs
00:23:20do you think they do it i think do it or spurs will actually be like no not i think they will um
00:23:30they've got a bit of a tougher run in then they've got a number of games that you don't want to leave
00:23:33it and leave it and leave it and i just feel like an early goal set the stall out and get those points
00:23:38on the board and win the title at anfield and they didn't have the chance to do that last time did
00:23:42they exactly it's going to be special i think on sunday i can't see them not getting it done
00:23:46definitely they'll definitely get a point if not a victory and in front of their home fans as well
00:23:49i mean as you say it was covert last time these fans deserve deserve to have a big celebration on
00:23:53sunday and i'm sure it'll come okay well it looks like the title race is in the bag but the race for
00:23:58europe is as competitive as ever in sixth place chelsea who in action today's early game against
00:24:04everton well enzo mareska's side are battling to stay in champions league contention you can
00:24:10follow live text of the game by scanning the qr code that's on your screen right now
00:24:14and conor mcnamara has the all-important team news for us with just four points separating third and
00:24:21seventh chelsea's chase for a champions league place continues there's just one change from the
00:24:27team that started the late win at fulham romeo lavia makes his first premier league start since january
00:24:33replacing reese james who is on the bench if everton's glass is half full they've only had two defeats in
00:24:39their last 12 premier league games if their glass is half empty david moy's side have only had one
00:24:45win in eight james tarkovsky's hamstring injury brings to an end his run of 109 premier league games
00:24:52in a row since joining everton jake o'brien will shift into the center today with nathan patterson coming
00:24:57in for only his second premier league start of the campaign armando broya had led the attack for
00:25:03everton's last two league games but he's ineligible today against his parent club betto starts instead
00:25:10well it's a huge game for chelsea elz when you're looking at that race for that fifth spot
00:25:16what only three points separate when you're looking at what nottingham forest down to
00:25:20villa right there on the table so it's a huge match for chelsea and the press the pressure is on
00:25:26yeah it's a huge match um and i'd say they're probably not as in form as you would say like
00:25:31man city or the lights of obviously arsenal probably pretty much cemented their place in second anyway
00:25:37but forest obviously also those two but they've been quite inconsistent haven't they chelsea so i
00:25:41think for this one it's about getting points on the board because man city and forest aren't playing
00:25:45see newcastle are as well so i think they need to get those three points on the board and really put
00:25:50pressure on that those other seven really yeah because you could see how much it meant to city
00:25:54getting those points and securing that place i think we saw the celebrations from pep on the
00:25:59sideline how much it meant to the players just to have champions league football for next season
00:26:04shea yeah i mean it was it was a big celebration wasn't it i mean it's it's probably pure defending
00:26:08from villa and it's maybe concentration that was the last minute of the game brilliant ball from
00:26:11docker and obviously nunez pops up at the at the back post we've not seen a celebration i guess alex
00:26:16i don't know from pep probably since i think it was refreshing since he won the champions league
00:26:19but it shows out what it means you know you think he's won everything in the in football and that's
00:26:23like a late winner you know he's still hungry to be successful he's he's he's one of the best
00:26:27managers of all time and and that buzz of you know winning games of football is still there
00:26:31do you think it's that actual like that thing of actually need to show people once again
00:26:37no i think it's raw emotion i really do i think you can't hide he's still celebrating
00:26:41in the backdrop you know he's gone again but again that's that's not for show that's coming
00:26:45out you know and it's in his blood and he wants to win games of football and and he knows how
00:26:49important it is for man city to get champions league football and of course they've got the fa cup this
00:26:52weekend as well yeah and same for nottingham forest back to winning ways because every game matters now
00:26:58else exactly and they've been up there haven't they in in that third place and you for them
00:27:03they don't want to be slipping down so that was a huge result for them and they need to keep that
00:27:06consistency and just keep getting points on the board now when you look at it down there who do
00:27:10you think is going to miss out shay because it's so close villa you've got chelsea i'm hoping
00:27:17villa newcastle and man city make it that's my three old teams i used to play for
00:27:23and chelsea miss out but alice it's so tight i really think it's going to come to the last game
00:27:27of the season it's it's sad i mean newcastle this weekend of ipswich at home which is a great game
00:27:31they bounced back after a heavy defeat to villa last weekend so they'll look to get three points
00:27:35on there okay well like villa newcastle have won five of their last six they're at home to ipswich
00:27:40today and anything but a win for the tractor boys means a relegation for them steve bauer is at
00:27:44james's park yes thanks very much indeed alex and he'll be buoyed by the fact that eddie howe of
00:27:50course is back here today as newcastle look to win for the fifth consecutive home game in the
00:27:55premier league and really put the pressure on as you've just been saying on the rest of the top
00:27:59seven former newcastle fullback john beresford is with me as always at st james's park looking
00:28:03forward to watching his former club good to see you john and as i say there's an extra bounce in the
00:28:08air here to have eddie howe back in the stadium today yeah i think a lot of people won't understand
00:28:14that you know me but being around newcastle fans and the the feeling that he's got with the fans
00:28:19it's it's massive once he walks out here the place is going to erupt uh to welcome him back and that
00:28:25makes a difference as well and they're coming off a bad result at villa they needed it okay it's which
00:28:30have probably got nothing to play for as such but it's a tricky one when you're playing with a lot of
00:28:33freedom but i'm expecting the right result today um in fact i'll tell you what i want to tell you i
00:28:38i think it'll be four four goals and more today but they have to start well simple as i hope so
00:28:43might it might be first on match today again there for the right reasons tonight if that's the case
00:28:47and they've been imperious for large parts of the season here though they've made it a really difficult
00:28:51place to come yeah and uh and that that goes back to eddie you know he plays high tempo he plays you
00:28:57know you you're on the front foot he'll leave you one-on-one at the back um i remember i remember
00:29:02seeing it in in its in its clarity was when we played arsenal in the semi-final of the carabao cup
00:29:09and i thought he's going five at the back it wasn't it was like literally we're playing three
00:29:13at the back we're going to go man for man and we're going to go on the front foot a lot of people
00:29:17really talk it like the pet way of playing from out the back what gets me about that is you see
00:29:22you're playing into newcastle's hands that you've got 50 000 people here going mental you're pushing
00:29:27in you're putting loads of pressure on the goalkeeper and the amount of teams that come and say
00:29:32oh let's play out from the back and then all they're doing is playing into newcastle's hands
00:29:35and every team still keeps doing it and actually going to please let me continue now listen you
00:29:40were here of course to experience the champions league nights of a couple of seasons ago you've
00:29:44played in it for the club despite the big trophy success would there be a tinge of disappointment
00:29:50if a top five place wasn't secured on the back of that trophy yeah it's after all the euphoria and
00:29:55you know you know getting the monkey off the back so to speak winning the cup yeah fantastic you
00:30:00know the parade everything brilliant but i just think it i'd feel it'd be a how do i explain this
00:30:07it'd be like a sucker punch that if we didn't get champions league you'd feel as though it were not
00:30:12a great season and that that's ridiculous for what we've experienced this this season so no we have
00:30:18to we've got to finish it off and we've got to finish off in style yeah you know i you know we were
00:30:22lucky enough to finish with a group of death with the last champions league but they're the nights that
00:30:27the owners have come here and that's what they want to be progressing in so yeah we've got we've
00:30:33got to have it it's just got to happen and uh i think we are looking at the fixtures that have
00:30:37got coming coming up i think we'll get it great to see you and we will pass on your best as you said
00:30:42to your former teammate thank you given back in the studio uh say he was just mentioning one game and
00:30:47dion dublin i don't know what he was on oh i'll leave it out get what oh no that's that's for
00:30:52not to show that uh we had a little cameo from kiri and tripper uh in the background as well walking
00:30:59in um four goals or more he's gone big yeah i know john's gone very big there with the scoreline
00:31:04i think we're at the stage where we'll just take a three points at newcastle um especially mentioned
00:31:08eddie howe actually he mentions his welcome back from he was in hospital he was in he was in a bit of
00:31:12trouble if i'm being honest with pneumonia and and i think we all talk about managers and how highly
00:31:17paid we talk with vitor prayer before for example and and's pasta cogli but eddie howe the job he's
00:31:21done alex is just phenomenal but i think even eddie in his press conference just says well maybe i've
00:31:25got to listen to the medics a wee bit and listen even the loved ones around him he says maybe spend
00:31:29a bit more time because i know he's a workaholic i know he's there like 12 hours a day seven days a
00:31:34week or eight days a week nearly even he's he's all in and sometimes he has to maybe it's just a little
00:31:39sign to him maybe just take the you know the foot off the throttle a bit and just and just try and
00:31:43take it a little bit easier and maybe delegate a few of the other coaches there perhaps you know but
00:31:47the job eddie's done and his staff's been been unbelievable it really has and you think they
00:31:51need to get back to winning ways because it was a sucker blow you know they need to carry on this
00:31:55momentum that they were building else exactly it was an emphatic win um for villa against newcastle but
00:32:02before that they were five unbeaten in the premier league won the league cup final so i feel like
00:32:08it's maybe just a blip and i feel like they've got a lot of confidence a lot of momentum
00:32:13and they've got the chance today to go and leapfrog both man city and forest and go third
00:32:18and get those three points on the board which i think will be huge for the team and i think you know
00:32:24for them to get champions league football and obviously have won the the league cup final what
00:32:27a season yeah yeah it'd be unbelievable i mean 70 years domestic hurt that you've seen the parade and
00:32:33stuff the fans turn out 300 000 fans in newcastle was amazing but i think as john mentions as well
00:32:38it would feel like a sucker punch if they don't get top five and get back in champions league because
00:32:42some of them nights remember psg baiting them for one it was just phenomenal and boppy looking around
00:32:46going what is this place do you know what i mean it was it was special nights special champions league
00:32:51nights well it's the london marathon tomorrow and as always steve crown will be part of the bbc's
00:32:55commentary team so for this week's focus at 50 we decided to pull out this beauty from 1982
00:33:09within days of sunderland's victory in 1973 the fa cup was being photographed in the hands of a 12
00:33:15year old geordie boy who was destined to grow into a famous sportsman and who still keeps the sunderland
00:33:20cup final shirt as a treasured possession steve cram the european and commonwealth gold medalist has only
00:33:27one sporting love outside athletics i've always been interested in football in fact was the sport which
00:33:32if i could have i would have preferred to have been successfully um as it was athletics is the
00:33:37thing i do best and unfortunately i wasn't good enough at football to be successful at it despite
00:33:42the gold medals steve cram cherishes the sunderland shirt if you're in athletics maybe you can aim for
00:33:48european gold medals and commonwealth gold medals where i'll never ever be able to wear a sunderland shirt
00:33:53you know it's a proud possession in that respect that it's been a present which was was given to me
00:33:57because um of my sort of associations with the club and sort of support over the years but i'm
00:34:03really pleased to possess it wear it around the house i don't wear it around the house all that often
00:34:10steve sorry not sorry for pulling that one out um some great names from football running
00:34:19this year amongst them championship managers gary rower of um of oxford i should say even jack
00:34:25wiltshire was going on and was named he was named norwich boss uh earlier this week you've got former
00:34:31england defender john terry taking part alongside his mate jody morris an italian legend get this one
00:34:37leonardo benucci's running wow coverage of the london marathon begins on bbc one tomorrow from 8 30 and
00:34:44you've also got live wsl action over on the iplayer from quarter past 12 with crystal palace taking on
00:34:50west ham palace will be relegated if they lose that one uh ellen some huge games uh going on this week
00:34:59in europe let's start with the women's champions league and start with chelsea yeah they go into the
00:35:03second leg four one down against barcelona it is a tough one uh sonja bonpas has already said this
00:35:10will be the biggest challenge of her career pulling this one around i think so yeah it's a huge deficit
00:35:16for one the game was two one and i thought if they could take that back to stanford bridge um you know
00:35:22they could you know really put on a show in front of their home fans for one i think it's a little bit
00:35:26too much the caliber now of opposition the likes of barcelona have won it three times in four years
00:35:32i just think they could score a lot of goals chelsea but are they able to not concede against
00:35:36this barcelona team i'm not sure so i feel like it's a tough tough ask for chelsea what about arsenal
00:35:42they go into this one a smaller deficit to overturn and they had chances at the emirates they had a lot
00:35:46of chances um you know manham obviously beth mead as well had some big chances two ones not bad but
00:35:52you're going away from home obviously it's a quite hostile crowd at leon they've won it eight times
00:35:56alex again they're unbelievable in europe so it's a tough one but i feel like they've got a more of
00:36:02a chance i would say just with that deficit they can score goals but i feel like leon are just so
00:36:07well known they know what to do to win games but i hope to see an english team in the final i'd love to
00:36:12be amazing off the floor there's some hope um well what about the men uh arsenal vpsg how do you see
00:36:18that one going psg lost for the first time in the league didn't they denise yeah
00:36:22do you know what it's it's the result against real madrid was unbelievable arsenal were phenomenal
00:36:26declin rice is both free kicks there were just incredible weren't they um but i don't know
00:36:31this psg team they worry me more than real madrid the way they're playing you know the way he's got
00:36:35them uh playing the midfield is brilliant as well i don't know it's a very difficult one to call it
00:36:39really is if they can hit the heights of the real madrid they've got a really obviously brilliant
00:36:42chance of actually winning the champions league arsenal of course but i think psg um they're they're
00:36:47dangerous look at their front three front four they've got some brilliant attacking players as well and
00:36:51it's a difficult one to call i think but we all hope the premier league team can can maybe pull
00:36:56it off hopefully i've got a little visit to the emirates on tuesday um what about inter taking on
00:37:02barca how do you see that one going okay i think barcel will be too strong i mean inter have surprised
00:37:06me and everyone said oh enter a brilliant team which they are the defensively really good as well and
00:37:10obviously with churram and martini's up top they've got two two strikers are buying in form as well but
00:37:14i just think barcelona again will be too strong i really do um yamal and co they've got some very
00:37:19exciting young players as well in their team um and for me if i sit in here in the cold of the day i
00:37:23would probably say a psg um barcelona final oh you'll not be happy with that
00:37:32big games coming up for manchester united and spurs in terms of when you look at their season as well
00:37:37else yeah i think they're quite season defying games um you would want to see and hope that they
00:37:43would both reach that final but based on what they've done their momentum their confidence i'm
00:37:48not really sure but you you want to see them you know reach that final especially you know if ang
00:37:54pasta koglu if he doesn't win this game is he going to be there that season i don't know so it
00:37:58would be amazing even if he does win is he going to be there exactly so i just feel like it is a
00:38:03tough one with the seasons they have but i feel like for the fans it will be an amazing if to see
00:38:09both them in the final be incredible i suppose it's different for chelsea in the conference league
00:38:13isn't it because the pressure's on them that they're expected to win it but you have to get
00:38:17through the semi-finals first before you're even thinking about a final yeah well they've kind of
00:38:21played with their second choice team the whole way through haven't they and i think actually
00:38:24chelsea's second choice team are probably strong enough to win this title um the funny thing
00:38:28going back to the europa league final of tottenham and man united both get i meet fans on the street
00:38:32and they go well if they play in the european form they'll be fine but if they realize it's a
00:38:35premier league opposition they might struggle in the final so uh but it would be great for
00:38:38the premier league if they both got to the final okay well we will see um lee trundle is an efl legend
00:38:44the ultimate streets won't forget footballer and he's still banging them in at the age of 48 in
00:38:48the welsh second tier michael timms has been to see him the legend how you doing mate okay good to
00:38:56meet you good to see you yeah good thank you i'll address the elephant in the room you're 48 and this
00:39:03is your 29th season of i mean professional football basically yeah yeah what's your secret like how
00:39:10have you lasted this long do you know what i just think i've never ever stopped
00:39:17you are definitely one of the older players but you're still scoring a lot of goals what is it 19 for
00:39:22the season now yeah 19 in the league but you know what's nice as well is i'm not just a player who's
00:39:27coming on for 15 minutes you know for most i've started every game and i'll usually play 90 minutes
00:39:38where did that love for football start i come from heighten a place in liverpool which is a
00:39:44not really a glamorous area all you would do is get your football and you'd go over the field and play or
00:39:49you'd you play in the street and i remember by ours we would have like a a mini world cup in the
00:39:54summer where you'd go and play a different street and then they'd come to yours and we'd swap around
00:40:01and we do that right through the summer holidays and then that's how lee trundle came to be it's
00:40:05unbelievable it's amazing it's been a beautifully long career i grew up watching you do all these
00:40:13these skills on a pitch were you always that sort of player no i would i would always play that
00:40:17that way i would always be a person that would go and get on the ball and try and take people on and
00:40:23and probably in my younger years that was probably something that probably stopped me from going
00:40:26further because i'd either i'd either score a goal or i get the ball took off me i would never pass it
00:40:32i never had any coaching until i was 24 when i went into professional football at wrexham you know i
00:40:38think going from the it was the league of wales at the time which is the one above this into league one
00:40:43with wrexham that was probably a little bit where you think you know this is a big jump now and you
00:40:48know how are you gonna do but then on me debut i ended up scoring a bicycle kick and then set the
00:40:55winner up for three two and then i went in to to score seven goals in my first four games as well so
00:41:02it just made me settle in and think you know i can i can play at this level you were almost known
00:41:06like in the streets as they say of as like the uk Ronaldinho like that was as close as we were going to get
00:41:12do you remember those times where you were like i heard that yeah yeah i loved it yeah you know i
00:41:16think because these are players that i that i love watching you know the likes of so the brazilian r9
00:41:21was he was my favorite Ronaldinho if i watch a game of football i love seeing players like that
00:41:28and it's probably a little it's going out of the game a little bit now where you have that individual
00:41:31flair and um it's sad to see because you know that's how i love playing when you look back where
00:41:37would you say was your favorite period in your career yeah i'd say at swansea from
00:41:412003 to 2006 seven season i'd say that's where i was enjoying myself on the pitch you know scoring
00:41:48my most goals is there a particular goal or skill that you can remember where you're like that's
00:41:54peak lee trundle the goal and it was in the johnson's paint trophy final chest and volley oh yeah just i
00:41:59say that let it come across you yeah chest i say that that goes down it's probably me my favorite goal
00:42:04what a shot what a goal who else it had to be lee trundle 20 years ago you were 28 you're playing
00:42:12your best football at swansea if you said to 28 year old lee trundle you're going to be playing
00:42:16football in 20 years would you believe it yeah i would you know yeah because it's just something that
00:42:21i love doing i love being i love being out on the pitch and i don't think there's nothing better you
00:42:27know you speak to any ex-footballer and they say their best times are when they were out there or
00:42:33when they're in the dressing room with the boys and there's lads in here who i played with their
00:42:37dads and now i'm playing with the sons as well so it's so that's that's that's that's where we're at
00:42:43well lee because i've got you here i feel like it would be such a missed opportunity for me to not
00:42:48try and emulate some of your your best skills and goals with your advice of course i'll walk you through a
00:42:54few things lovely let's go cool right first one your penalty your little cheeky put the ball down
00:43:01and kick it it was i placed the ball and then i would wait for the the referee to blow his whistle
00:43:07yeah and then i just put me under so i was going to fix the ball and then as i've been down i just put
00:43:12it in like that right okay i'm now about to take it and then oh so wait wait let me i just gotta
00:43:18look at this next one this is probably a bit harder your famous shoulder roll i don't know how
00:43:27you do that i test it in in that little groove there okay so that's why i would it would stick
00:43:31put it up and then now i think it's hard if it's not thrown into you okay right come on then
00:43:36i've never done that in my life by the way okay last one your favorite goal yeah chest coming
00:43:49across volley i mean that's just great technique oh yeah and as i say my favorite goal especially
00:43:54for in the cup final as well it always goes down as like a special occasion so it was it was leon
00:43:59britain who crossed it from that side and then i've chested it left foot volley across the goalkeeper
00:44:04there how am i going to do that i can throw it to you okay just a big a big throw and then just a
00:44:09chest yeah that'll do it wasn't the exact replica but you know what it's in off the bar so no it's
00:44:20good good technique lee this has been an absolute pleasure thank you so much uh and i hope we get to
00:44:26see a lot more years of you playing football because it is just a joy thank you thank you thank you mate
00:44:35still a legend the streets do not forget uh welcome aaron paul we've stolen you for final
00:44:41score later on just the warm-up uh yeah just the warm-up but so much to to go through so much to go
00:44:46through well what two teams already promoted absolutely right into the premier league absolutely
00:44:50at the top end of the championship leeds united uh and uh and burnley confirming their places on uh on
00:44:56eastern monday what a win it was for leeds united as well asked to do a job and they battered stoke
00:45:02city 6-0 they were 4-0 up after 20 minutes joel peru with a hat-trick magnificent performance from
00:45:08daniel farker's side and then it was all on burnley as they took on sheffield united in the tea time
00:45:12game not a classic bit into and bit scrappy but burnley winning and winning promotion back to the
00:45:18premier league under scott parker fantastic achievements i mean it was doing the rounds
00:45:22weren't it shay his team talk and how emotional he was getting i get emotional watching scott sometimes
00:45:27as well i played with scott at newcastle like he's an emotional character but i think he gets
00:45:31everything out of his team yeah he's third promotion as a manager of the champions as well
00:45:34which is an unbelievable uh feat and be interesting to see if they back him now in the summer as well to
00:45:38to strengthen for for the premier league we know how difficult that is i was gonna say that's the
00:45:42thing because promoter teams have not been doing so well the golf's big it's big and it seems to be
00:45:47getting bigger but then i think leeds as well obviously a big club to be back in the premier league as
00:45:51well which is big news for them they've got new owners now as well with a bit more money behind them as
00:45:55well so it'll be interesting to see you know how much they support the manager if he's still going
00:45:59to be there next season aaron is that anything a lot of talk a lot of talk about uh daniel farker's
00:46:04future there is a job at norwich city's beloved norwich city as well where he won promotion twice but
00:46:09it's just the tale of how it is it's the gulf between the championship and and the premier league
00:46:14and it's what everyone's talking about how do you survive in the premier league well how do you
00:46:18decide decide in the league anyway in the championship because what's going on down at the bottom it's a
00:46:21madness i think it's a madness we've called it heartburn territory every single week and
00:46:28it's judgment day for plymouth argyle and potentially cardiff city um well i mean just
00:46:33taking a look at it the situation's absolutely perilous plymouth and cardiff both on 43 points
00:46:38derby county have picked up a bit of form they're on 46 luton town got to talk about their manager matt
00:46:43bloomfield real touch of class about him his goalkeeper thomas kaminsky uh lost his father this week
00:46:49matt escorted him back to belgium so he could go and be with his family thomas kaminsky in contention
00:46:54to play uh this afternoon bit of a dodgy situation as well for hull and oxford preston north end still
00:47:00in there stoke city unbelievable situation there they've slept walk back into it battered on monday
00:47:06beaten last night by sheffield united they'll have some nervous watching this afternoon as they look
00:47:11at the uh the scores on the doors burnley 1-0 up by the way uh josh cullen with the goal for them
00:47:16it's qpr and luton taking on commentary in a big battle at both top and bottom well she was
00:47:22mentioning jamie vardy and maybe possibly wrexham next season what's going on with this hollywood
00:47:26drama in league one you think the bottom of the championship is a madness take a look at the top
00:47:31end of league one birmingham city uh champions but wrexham wickham wanderers chartle and athletic all
00:47:37fighting for automatic promotion uh to uh the uh to the championship wrexham wickham and chartle and all
00:47:45involved in their child athletic performed absolute wonders and i'll tell you what just looking at
00:47:50that race wrexham with it with a huge opportunity to do something here and and if they can go and
00:47:55sign jamie vardy next season who knows they'll be having a party uh quick one can you just sum up
00:47:59what's going on at the bottom league two oh the bottom of league two uh more can already gone
00:48:03carlisle could go today defeat and they're done oh wow okay let's move on shall we um aaron you're
00:48:09going to be on final score later thank you for coming in with us that's on
00:48:122 30 on the red button and of course on iplayer well it's also a big day north of the border with
00:48:18celtic on the brink of a 55th league title they are playing dundee united right now and stephen craigan
00:48:24joins us from bbc scotland uh stephen thank you for joining us what can you tell us what needs to
00:48:29happen for celtic to seal that title well as it stands at the minute celtic will be champions they
00:48:35just need to earn a point this afternoon against dundee united the game is underway there's a little
00:48:39break and play there's been an issue with supporters throwing things onto the pitch so there's a break
00:48:42and play but as it stands celtic will be champions one point enough although brendan rogers and his
00:48:47team would want to win the game and see it out right i think it's fair to say the title has been over for
00:48:51a long time up here north of the border celtic have been the dominant team not just this season but for
00:48:56past seasons they've got the best players they've got the best team spirit they've got the deepest team
00:49:00with regard squad and i think they've got the best player in dyes and miras so they've been relentless a
00:49:05really strong mindset for what they're doing and as you say alex i think it will be title 55 by the
00:49:10end of today steven i was just going to ask about brendan obviously the job he's done he's on for the
00:49:16treble treble himself as as as the celtic manager what an achievement that will be and and what's
00:49:21the word on the street up in glasgow is he going to be here long term because there's there's been
00:49:24links down here down south the border again maybe a tottenham job or whatever do you think brendan will
00:49:28be there for for the good few years well she you know you being a celtic supporter brendan left in
00:49:352019 after his first spell and went to leicester city there was a lot of unrest a lot of discontent
00:49:40from supporters they thought he should have stayed on and managed to see out that season he didn't
00:49:44he came back 18 months ago there was a a bit of concern of how he would be received he's won games
00:49:50he's won trophies he's improved in the champions league so they're loving him again but he's yet to
00:49:54i think he's 18 months left in his contract i'd be surprised if he leaves before that if certainly
00:49:59want to keep progressing and keep moving forward and match his ambitions they're going to have to
00:50:02give him money so i would think his contract's up in 2026 i wouldn't be surprised if he signs a new
00:50:07deal yeah steven talk to us about captain um calum mcgregor because he's come out this week and actually
00:50:13everyone speaking about how it's easy but actually they've become desensitized so how difficult it is to
00:50:20keep that level and keep going every season do you agree with that i do because when you think
00:50:27prior to 2016 before brendan rogers came to celtic celtic had won three trebles in their history they've
00:50:33now won five and eight seasons there's a generation of celtic supporters who think they win trebles every
00:50:39season or they compete for trebles when you look deeper it's not like that so i think these players
00:50:43deserve an awful lot of credit they've they've kind of normalized something that isn't normal
00:50:48effectively which is what calum's getting to and that comes down to good management on and off the
00:50:53pitch from the board and from the players and from the staff uh good players being signed and having
00:50:58someone like calum mcgregor at the falcon of all he's the leader he's the pinnacle of the squad when
00:51:03new players come in and other players leave he's the first person to demand the standards he's been
00:51:07around the club a long time he's been a supporter he knows how it works so having someone like that is
00:51:12absolutely vital steven really interesting thank you for joining us we appreciate it pleasure okay two
00:51:18massive fa cup semi-finals this weekend nottingham forest will be taking on manchester city tomorrow
00:51:23this evening it's crystal palace against villa which you can watch live on the bbc but glenn murray will
00:51:29be in the studio for that one and this week he caught up with palace midfielder adam morton
00:51:33how are you okay nice to see you nice things yeah not too bad i believe that you've already played at
00:51:44wembley was it was it 10 years ago for your primary school 2015 2015 25th of may 2015 yeah how was that
00:51:52experience for such a young lad it was unbelievable um no yeah it's from a primary school it was nil nil
00:51:58and then we won on penalties three two do you stand and take one of course yeah
00:52:07it's just all happened so quick hasn't it i mean everyone's talking about you it must be nice getting
00:52:12that praise from all angles yeah it's obviously nice to get praise um by people who are respected
00:52:17in the game but there's always going to be people who criticize or have something to say so i just try
00:52:22keeping as level-headed as possible well when you talk about people that are respected in the game
00:52:27there's no one more respected than pep guardiola and he had he had a lot to say about you didn't
00:52:31bet your phone went mental one of the players you'll be coming up against at the weekend is adam
00:52:36wharton how highly do you rate him and what qualities does he have that make him stand excellent holding
00:52:41midfielder the impact has been really good coming for this championship to the premier league really
00:52:47left foot really good play a few people sent it to me a couple of friends and stuff like that um
00:52:53so yeah obviously it's good to see something said about you from someone a manager as good
00:53:00as pep guardiola so good to take in but also yeah i'm nowhere near where i want to be as a player
00:53:06when we talk about like your playing style yeah you're so calm on the pitch and even in pressure
00:53:13right situation you've got a cool head you can always see a forward pass is that like an extension
00:53:17your personality because you just seem so relaxed yeah i'm i'm not really too energetic or outgoing
00:53:24or anything like that um as a person and it probably shows on the pitch as well if people sort of asked
00:53:30me how i'd describe my game i'd just say simple you you call it simple the one touch but when when jp
00:53:36passes it into you your first touches is kind of into as is path 30 yards in front or whether it's coming
00:53:42from your left back and you're spinning into jp yeah like that three six division and that awareness
00:53:47is that something you had to work on is it just natural ability yeah i think it comes naturally but
00:53:51also it's obviously i've got to make sure i know that someone's not sitting in front of him or things
00:53:57like that so it's a bit of both i'd say really i always try and be as open as possible so that as
00:54:03many options are possible for me to play to talk to me about your aspirations moving forward not only
00:54:13for crystal palace but for yourself individually i don't really like to sort of set too many targets
00:54:18because once you hit that target it's like what do you do now sort of thing but you could have never
00:54:22been a striker you hit you set a target you hit it and you want more and more yeah exactly so i think
00:54:28for me i just want to become as good as possible and win as many trophies with a team as possible
00:54:35i'm not really too fussed about scoring goals i still haven't scored for crystal palace yet so
00:54:41come don't worry um yeah i'm not really fussed about goals or assists or anything like that um
00:54:46but if i can help the team you know win a trophy or place as high as possible in the league then that'll
00:54:53be enough for me he's so laid back i was sitting back in my chair there else um you are a huge fan
00:55:00a huge fan i think he's done himself a disservice there saying he's just simple is the way that
00:55:05he'll describe himself i think he's just so intelligent technical ability and the way he moves the ball up
00:55:12the pitch for his team and we'll see a few clips here of these are the clips from um the fa cup and just
00:55:18the way he can spin defenders but then he just wants to get the team moving up the pitch but he
00:55:23wants to get stuck in as well he's like an old school kind of midfielder as well he wants to make
00:55:27the big tackles and i just i just love how calm and composed he is like this one is just right where
00:55:33where's my next pass forward bang straight into to your forward player and this one i just love he
00:55:39just spins thank you look at that who does a reverse pass like that it's just outrageous and it's just
00:55:46i just feel like especially being english he would be perfect in that number six position look at
00:55:52that little spin then takes the player on again and then bang forward so i just feel like he's
00:55:57elevated palace he's elevated his game he's so intelligent and and also in the premier look at
00:56:02him there he's third in most progressive progressive passes and there's fernandez and um
00:56:08odegaard in that it's just he's he's such an amazing talent 21 years old as well and hopefully
00:56:13palace can keep him otherwise he's going to get snapped up by one of the big clubs i reckon
00:56:16well they're going to need him in the semi-final aren't they like the big game i'm going to say
00:56:20something quite massive here now i might drop off the page but he reminds me of a period and and
00:56:24and a sense that he's just and that word jumps off the screen as well when he talks about simple
00:56:27he sees the game simple in his head as well he sees the passes he sees he feels spaces around him
00:56:32he knows where they play and and sometimes people don't have that on the playing pitch there's there's
00:56:36there's motorbikes going off in people's heads he's got the absolute opposite he's got total calmness and total
00:56:41control of his game and he's got a huge future like everything's in slow motion for him yeah
00:56:45doesn't matter um speaking of cool and calm our very own dion dublin is at wembley today for
00:56:51five live and he joins us right now dion you've come in early just for us what can we say
00:56:58well adam warton is some player but i hope he has a stinker today i just want to relay that one quickly
00:57:04get it out of the way let me tell you by the way shay will tell you ells will tell you you know
00:57:08yourself just by chance the sun's come out there's a game at wembley it's always roasting uh but in
00:57:14and around the stadium i've got to say it's absolutely bouncing uh i'm looking forward to
00:57:18this one and this is the match ball by the way no way they've given you the match ball what do you
00:57:22make of the match up today well they're actually expecting me to be mad at the match again so i might
00:57:27will take it now i thought he's going to do some keepy up or something like that you know what i mean
00:57:33steady steady on share you've seen my keeping um listen i i think i think this is going to be
00:57:38some game it's very evenly matched i think two teams are kind of playing their best footy at the
00:57:44moment a bit of a dip uh from villa i think i think there's still more to come from villa but
00:57:48you've mentioned warton there alongside hughes mateta up top who's going to be an absolute handful
00:57:52um if he starts today and as a we know about him as well so this is a real tester for villa um and for
00:57:58palace as well so um i'm expecting lots of noise and i'm expecting goals as well maybe extra time
00:58:03you know as well maybe extra time but actually when you look at it yes villa's having the better
00:58:07season but palace have already beaten uh villa twice this season sorry you know that's how tight
00:58:15it is obviously the mid-week game would have done them no harm whatsoever you know
00:58:18deal mentions matteta off the bench the goal he scored was probably one of the goals of the season
00:58:22um palace are going to come in bouncing into this game as well and villa on the back of a of a late
00:58:27defeat at manchester city so it's a it's a really difficult game to call what about the other semi
00:58:31final of not in the forest manchester city else how do you see that one going again i think that's
00:58:35going to be really interesting forest have obviously beaten man city already this season i think it's
00:58:39going to be a really really interesting tie obviously it could completely transform man city
00:58:44season to obviously win the effort but someone like forest they haven't won it for years so
00:58:47it's going to be an amazing match up that one deal i want to come back to you sorry sorry scotty
00:58:54forest have done great forest has done great this season they deserve to be in a semi um if they make
00:58:58it to the final it wouldn't surprise me at all because they just have this i was very fortunate to
00:59:03speak to anthony alanga recently for one of the focus features and they just seem very together it
00:59:09doesn't matter who they play they just seem to have that confidence among the team that they can beat
00:59:14anyone so who knows oh shay's pointing because chelsea have just scored we'll come to that in a minute
00:59:20uh dion what's the plans now for you so yes full day today a little bit of corporate for the fa
00:59:26i have a sneaky glass of champagne don't tell the radio people and then i'm going to do the coke comms
00:59:32then i'm going to do the coke comms with uh john moe for five lives and then i'll go wait i have to
00:59:36cut you off we've got to go so go get that champagne because that's all we've got time for
00:59:41i'll see you soon have a great day um chelsea are one nil up at the moment against everton thank you
00:59:47both for joining me today um we will see you next weekend and enjoy this jamie vardy's leaving party
00:59:55what he's done and what he's achieved from nowhere it's a superstar it should be a move then
01:00:01we're clogged in each school speed
01:00:05jenny vardy said his pre-match meal two red balls and an omelet i wouldn't suggest young players
01:00:21follow this but it works for him
01:00:23party oh it's absolutely spectacular it dropped for jamie vardy what a goal that is
01:00:30vardy's in behind
01:00:31vardy's got it scored in 11 consecutive games
01:00:45you kidnapped my little sister i'm worried they're gonna hurt me
01:00:48you should do what i did when i was in the army yeah i can't tell you more if i tell you i have to

01:02:05we all know life can be tough but when i bake somehow it makes me feel that little bit better
01:02:13a soothing slice of cake double layered deliciousness the smell of freshly made bread
01:02:20the comforting crunch of a biscuit straight out of the oven sometimes when you want something really sweet you want it to hit the spot
01:02:30for me baking really is my happy place and i want it to be yours too
01:02:36which is why i'm returning to my first true love it's the little details that make it look beautiful
01:02:43you're gonna love it from easy everyday treats oh gosh that's good to indulgent desserts to share
01:02:50it sometimes you've got to just throw all the chocolate at it there will be bakes for every occasion
01:02:57oh my goodness plus i'll be showcasing some of the bakers and pastry chefs i most admire from across the uk
01:03:06once i finish the cake it's that kid in the sweet shop moment
01:03:10i love that so let's bake eat and be happy
01:03:21this week we're in chocolate heaven with my dangerously delicious bakes
01:03:26i very rarely sing that this brownie makes me sing my magical caramel and chocolate flan
01:03:32is guaranteed to blow your mind that my friends is what baking is all about
01:03:39some super tasty madeleines are given an extra chocolatey edge just look at where
01:03:44the chocolate just kind of coats those ridges plus my ever so moorish twist on the classic cobbler
01:03:51delicious and everything that you need all in one bowl
01:03:58first up my massively indulgent brownies perfect for the ultimate chocolate fix
01:04:03baking with chocolate is one of life's great treats i have this saying money can't buy you happiness but
01:04:15brownies can need i say more
01:04:17it doesn't get better than this a fudgy brownie base topped with sweet dolce de leche
01:04:28and rich orange cheesecake three layers of deliciousness
01:04:32surely it's our life's mission to eat the best brownie that is literally all i do
01:04:40and this is the best brownie you will ever make and i'm starting with that brownie base
01:04:46250 grams of dark chocolate and 250 grams of unsalted butter and turn the heat on a really low
01:04:52like the lowest heat you can get it add 280 grams of brown sugar to four eggs and whizz to light and fluffy
01:05:05it's a lovely kind of light almost caramelly color and it's tripled in size so now i'm gonna add my
01:05:12chocolate mixture
01:05:15i think chocolate is one of those things it's like when you when you're in a crowded
01:05:19room and someone says i don't like chocolate often that comment is enough to stop a whole conversation
01:05:27because i think most of us really like chocolate but i can see why it makes you feel good
01:05:41then add 120 grams of plain flour we don't want any raising agents in there
01:05:46if you want that lovely dense brownie you don't add self-raising flour because you get a lift
01:05:51then it becomes cake we're not making cake
01:05:57i want to make my brownies taste as chocolatey as possible and for that i have a secret weapon instant
01:06:04coffee this brownie is not going to taste like coffee but what coffee does it enhances the flavor
01:06:10of the cocoa and you take your brownie to a whole other place it's like a chocolate cocoa-y flavored
01:06:18explosion in goes 30 grams of cocoa powder straight in my cooled coffee and a pinch of salt
01:06:29and then give that a quick stir
01:06:33my kids love brownies that's their favorite thing my daughter has a very special name she calls these
01:06:38brownies turn your frowny upside downy brownie and i mean she's not wrong they do turn your frownies
01:06:45upside down me i'm ramping up the cocoa content with chocolate chips adding a teaspoon of flour for
01:06:53a nifty little trick but by adding the flour what they do is they cling on so what will happen is when
01:07:01i mix it in they'll suspend themselves throughout the brownie mix without sinking right down to the bottom
01:07:15pop that chocolatey mix into the oven
01:07:20of course you could stop here and have a perfectly good brownie but i'm going all out on this baby
01:07:26what's chilled it's time for layer number two so i've got 450 grams of dulce de leche which is like
01:07:36salted caramel it's evaporated milk that's boiled for so long i mean this is how good it is just watch
01:07:42anything that comes out this slow is good look at it go
01:07:54for a bit of crunch i'm adding 200 grams of toasted hazelnuts in my book a brownie isn't a brownie
01:08:01without nuts and that's going to be our second layer if this isn't exciting you then you are dead inside
01:08:12then back into the freezer for half an hour before i start on my final layer cheesecake
01:08:19to make the ultimate brownie i wanted to put everything that i really like i love chocolate
01:08:25i love dulce de leche and i love cheesecake so i put them all together and did they work yes they did
01:08:34i've got 300 grams of cream cheese to that i'm adding two eggs 100 grams of caster sugar
01:08:42the zest of an orange i want to make this really zesty and fresh and i want it to be a complete
01:08:48contrast from the chocolate and the dulce de leche almond extract and a tablespoon of flour
01:08:55i think i have made enough brownie blocks to build a whole house a decent sized house three bed
01:09:09two bathroom shed maybe that many brownies so i'm going to pour our very last layer on top
01:09:19that goes back in the oven for 30 minutes then into the fridge to cool overnight
01:09:31you could cheat and get it out earlier but i promise you this is one brownie that's worth the wait
01:09:37okay okay okay okay i know you want to look inside and you want to see this brownie that we work so
01:09:46hard to make i very rarely sing but this brownie makes me sing
01:09:49so pick it up for my final flourish a dusting of cocoa okay my heart races a little bit just
01:10:05the more i cut something we've got dark chocolate chip filled brownie then we've got dulce de leche
01:10:20and roasted hazelnut and then we've got orange cheesecake and just to finish it off we've got some cocoa
01:10:26there you have it the brownie to end all brownies i mean if you're gonna have a brownie make it the
01:10:36ultimate one
01:10:48money can't buy you happiness but brownies can
01:10:56you
