The New South Wales Blues are preparing to take on Queensland in the first women's state of origin game next Thursday at Lang Park. The sides will have limited preparations with the NRLW season yet to start although they've had a six-week pre-season training block. The ABC spoke to winger Jamie Chapman who says the Blues are ready to reverse last year's series loss.

00:00I think this year we've had a really good six-week pre-season leading into the games
00:07and I'm really excited to see how we're going to go, especially with Strangie being our
00:11coach and all the new girls that are coming.
00:13We definitely did win on enemy turf last year and I think we can do it again this year.
00:17I'm very, very confident in our girls.
00:20We're hungrier than ever and the rivalry is definitely very strong.
00:24If we were to have a longer NLW season it would be very beneficial for us, but obviously
00:29as times are we can't play before it, but having that pre-season has really helped us.
00:35If we didn't have that it would be a bit harder, but we're very lucky to have that pre-season.
