00:00Our production crew has been on it for two straight days.
00:04They just told me something that I have to see to believe.
00:08I'm not doubting them.
00:11They are on top of it.
00:15But I just, it's real.
00:18Okay.
00:19At pick 94, in round number three,
00:23the Cleveland Browns select quarterback Dylan Gabriel out of Oregon.
00:33Wow.
00:33With, again, respect to Gabriel, he is not the story in this moment.
00:40It's that Shador Sanders was just passed up on for Dylan Gabriel.
00:46Cam Ward, everyone expected it.
00:49Jackson Dart at the end, booked in front of.
00:52Shador Sanders to be QB2 in this class.
00:56Entering into today, the Tyler Shuck love was real, and it played out.
01:01Milrow versus Sanders, maybe.
01:04We wouldn't expect it.
01:06It happened.
01:07Not one person could possibly tell you they thought Dylan Gabriel out of Oregon
01:14would come off of the board before Shador Sanders.
01:19I want to get Lisey's thoughts on Gabriel in a moment.
01:22But, Ben, I go to you on just this idea that Shador Sanders was passed up on for Dylan Gabriel.
01:30Yeah, Kev, it is absolutely astounding.
01:34You see the numbers there on Dylan Gabriel.
01:36Nearly a 73% completion percentage, throwing for nearly 4,000 yards last year in Eugene.
01:4230 touchdowns to 6 INTs.
01:45We know how talented, Cap, the Oregon Ducks are offensively.
01:48Outstanding numbers for Dylan Gabriel.
01:51But nobody thought he would go on night number two.
01:54Certainly nobody had Dylan Gabriel over Shador Sanders in terms of who goes first in the 2025 NFL draft.
02:02And, Cap, as we look at your top quarterbacks here in this draft class, Dylan Gabriel is nowhere to be found on this top eight.
02:10So how surprising of a selection is this?
02:12Chuck, I was at the Senior Bowl.
02:14He's really small.
02:15I know his college numbers are great.
02:17He's a tiny guy.
02:18If you thought Russell Wilson, another Senior Bowl guy, 2012, was small at 5'10".
02:22This guy, small frame.
02:25I know he's a good athlete.
02:27He has to be a decent number two quarterback.
02:30I don't believe in taking your backups round three.
02:33I just don't agree with that.
02:33I think it's wrong.
02:35Believe it or not, this, I don't quite understand what they're doing here.
02:38Because, honestly, when yours, that's better.
02:41Will Howard, maybe a little bit.
02:44But, again, with Shador Sanders, the league is telling us something.
02:46Look, we're all wrong.
02:47Well, clearly, the league, Ben, when a guy like this put up massive college numbers and coach any player,
02:54they're telling you they don't think he's good enough.
02:57Sorry.
02:58That's it.
02:58The second ever quarterback in Division I history, FBS or FCS,
03:03to throw for more than 14,000 career passing yards while maintaining a 70% completion percentage.
03:09That was Shador Sanders at both Jackson State and Colorado.
03:13Again, Kev, this is an absolute stutter, especially made by the Cleveland Browns,
03:18who at different points throughout this second night were favored to draft both Shador Sanders
03:23and Jalen Milrow.
03:25They end up with Dylan Gabriel out of Oregon.
03:27I want to talk about what Kaplan said there around Sanders.
03:30But before we do that, Gabriel was just selected by Cleveland.
03:33Maybe we'll do it at the top of the hour here.
03:35Joe, your thoughts on Dylan Gabriel being picked by the Cleveland Browns?
03:39Kid's a winner.
03:40I'll give him that.
03:40You know, elevated UCF, then transferred to Oklahoma, won big games against Texas,
03:45and then obviously took his team to an undefeated regular season,
03:49but struggled in the college football semifinal playoff loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
03:54Looked like a deer in the headlights against a more dominant physical defensive line
03:58that got after it with all the chips in the middle of the table.
04:01So you look at that last performance and you say he's just a pure backup.
04:05But again, in the right scheme, could he be like a Drew Brees type of player?
04:10Sure. It's possible, Kev, but that's the outlier.
04:13He's just a legitimate backup.
04:15I compare him a little bit to Sam Howell in terms of just agility and just, you know, skill set.
04:21Sam Howell was a starter for one year and then now is relegated to a backup.
04:26But I don't expect Dylan Gabriel to challenge for the starting job with the Cleveland Browns.
04:30Might be on another team before the end of the regular season as well.
04:33See you next time.
04:35Peace.
04:35Peace.
04:36Peace.
04:37Peace.
04:37Peace.
04:38Peace.
04:38Peace.
04:39Peace.
