Reaction as Glasgow Warriors lose at home to Bulls 26-19
Transcript
00:01Hello, it's Graeme Bean from The Scotsman here at Scottsdale Stadium, where Glasgow
00:05Warriors have just lost 26-19 to the Modicom Bulls in the United Rugby Championship.
00:13Glasgow Myers has scored too late tries to secure a precious bonus point, and that means
00:17they remain in second place in the URC standings, one point ahead of the Bulls, with two rounds
00:23of fixtures remaining.
00:25That could be very important in the final analysis.
00:26Fiora finishes second, is guaranteed a home semi-final in the playoffs, if you get that
00:31far.
00:32Both teams are already at home in the quarter-finals, and we'll find out their opponents when the
00:38regular season concludes.
00:40But this was a fascinating game, and as I say, a very important bonus point for Glasgow, despite
00:46the defeat.
00:47They outscored the Bulls by three tries to two, but the visitors enjoyed the better of
00:55the action in a very physical game.
00:59Glasgow scored a nice opening try through Jamie Dobby, who came on for Kyle Rowe towards the
01:07end of the first half.
01:09But the Bulls were in at half-time, 9-7 ahead, thanks to three penalty from Johan Goosen, their
01:17standoff.
01:18We didn't miss anything all night.
01:20The Bulls pulled away in the opening half of the second period.
01:25They scored tries through Johannes Seg, Rob Allard, and then David Creel, and another further
01:35penalty from Goosen, put them 26-7 ahead at that point.
01:40And it looked bleak for Glasgow, but they fought back strongly, and late tries from Kyle
01:45Steyn and Stafford McDowell.
01:46The latter one, converted by George Horne, meant they got finished within seven points
01:52of the Bulls to get that vital bonus point.
01:55Final score again, Glasgow orders 19, the Bulls 26.
01:59Imagine that .
