00:00We are here at the Billboard Latin Women in Music Awards.
00:03Oh, my God. Prince, I can't with this man bun.
00:06Prince, yes.
00:08Te veo con ojos diferentes.
00:10Thank you, thank you.
00:11You know, I had a man bun before, but it was time to bring it back.
00:14It's a crazy growing process.
00:16It's annoying, so I'm going to have to rock it out for a little bit.
00:17But we're celebrating women tonight.
00:19Yes.
00:20You know, celebrating the beautiful women in the music industry
00:22that have been working hard on and off the stage.
00:26My fan base, as you guys may know, is majority women.
00:29So definitely got to show love just for all they do.
00:33And, you know, my mom, you know, is a very powerful, independent woman
00:38that I feel she's very strong.
00:39So definitely that's what it's all about today.
00:41Before we talk about your new music that you have,
00:45you have collaborated with three of our honorees tonight.
00:48Tienes Cancion con Nati Natasha, Anita, and Hash.
00:51Those are three of our honorees.
00:52What have you learned working with these women?
00:55I think it's a very, I don't know if different,
00:59but it's definitely a very different recording process
01:03or way of writing or way of thinking as a girl
01:06that sometimes as a man you don't really see until you see them work.
01:10And I think it's just, I think it's great when I'm in the studio with them
01:14to see just a perspective of a woman that you don't really see too much
01:18or I don't get to see too much in the studio
01:20because usually like all of my producers and songwriters are usually men.
01:24So I think it's great to always see otra perspectiva,
01:26like just another perspective of a singer, of a songwriter.
01:30And I think we're seeing more and more women nowadays in the studio,
01:34not just singing, but also writing, producing in the industry,
01:38female lawyers as well.
01:40So definitely I'm seeing more and more women in the industry.
01:42Bueno, estamos de estreno with How Deep Is Your Love,
01:45a bachata version of this Bee Gees classic.
01:48Tell us a little bit about this concept,
01:50this part of this conceptual album that's coming out.
01:53Concept album I've been wanting to do for a long time,
01:55passion project, How Deep Is Your Love was the first single by the Bee Gees.
01:58I got so many other records coming in.
02:01Let me know what songs you think you should hear.
02:04But May 16th, Sale Eterno, which the name Eterno,
02:07just eternal, songs that I feel last a lifetime.
02:10I think as an artist, that's what we always want,
02:11like just to make timeless music.
02:14So that's what this passion project is about.
02:16They're all classics.
02:18Can you tease something?
02:20I got a song.
02:21I'll say there's a song that I,
02:24at the time when I was doing Stand By Me,
02:26that I was going to do and I didn't do at the time.
02:28And it was Yesterday by the Beatles.
02:29So that was always a pick.
02:31So that's in the...
02:32You want to say in Spanglish or...
02:34Everything Spanglish, everything bachata.
02:36I love that.
02:37All right, Prince, before we let you go...
02:39Amazing scene, pre-order, now!
02:40Oh my God, right now!
02:41Si no, no!
02:41All right, Prince, before we let you go,
02:43¿Cuál ha sido el mejor consejo que te ha dado tu mamá?
02:45Now that Mother's Day is coming up.
02:47You know, Mother's Day lands on my birthday, actually.
02:50Is it Sunday or Saturday?
02:52Oh no, my birthday's Saturday.
02:53Oh, yeah, my birthday's Saturday
02:55and sometimes it lands on Mother's Day.
02:56And I think my mom always told me...
03:00I'm trying to say something related to music,
03:08but I don't know if it's related to music.
03:09Or life in general.
03:10I'm trying to give a real answer.
03:14My mom was just always very positive
03:16and she was always very attentive
03:17and she always supported...
03:19Not only mine, but my brother's and I's dreams.
03:23And I think she just wants to see us happy, like her kids.
03:25So I think that was always...
03:26Stayed in my head.
03:28I don't know if it was advice,
03:29but everything I did,
03:30I always thought, like,
03:32what would my mom think of this?
03:33So I think...
03:34I don't know if that was advice,
03:35but it always helped me out
03:35because I always think, like,
03:36you know, I wouldn't want to get in trouble with school
03:38or whatever
03:39because I knew my mom would, like,
03:40judge me or something.
03:41So, I don't know.
03:42I think she was just always very impactful
03:43and very supportive.
03:45Just...
03:45I think of her just very supportive.
03:47Just supports everything.
03:48Like, just always said yes, you know.
03:49So that's what I think about my mom.
03:50Ahora si, before we let you go,
03:51what does your mom think about Eterno?
03:53My mom loves the album.
03:56She said that when she first came to this country,
03:58she would listen to all these songs
03:59at a factory that she worked at.
04:01She would listen to them at a mall,
04:03like, when she would go shopping at the malls.
04:05Those are great times, great times.
04:06So, definitely, I hope that this album
04:08could bring some nostalgia
04:09and some great memories to everyone.
04:11And introducing it to the new generation.
04:13To the new generation as well.
04:14Bueno, Prince, muchas gracias.
04:17Pendiente, ¿cuando?
