00:00Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're counting down art picks for the most powerful characters
00:09in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
00:11We'll be basing art picks on both brute strength and the extent of their superhuman
00:15powers.
00:1620 Ant-Man – Various When you think of powerful Marvel characters,
00:25Ant-Man probably isn't the first who comes to mind.
00:28But to be fair, he is basically just a guy.
00:39But upon donning one of his size-manipulating suits, Scott Lang is a force to be reckoned
00:43with.
00:44When he gigantifies himself, he can rip through metal, knock around more powerful heroes and
00:49cause plenty of havoc for his foes.
00:51But even when he's the size of an ant, Ant-Man can punch with the force of a bullet.
00:56And hey, not every Avenger could have basically soloed Kang the Conqueror.
01:0019 Spider-Man – Various As the refrain goes, Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider
01:16can.
01:17Peter Parker has superhuman strength, powerful enough to lift incredibly large objects.
01:31He can withstand blows from other supernaturally strong foes.
01:35He crawls on walls, shoots webs from artificial wrist shooters, and he has worn suits with
01:40even more crazy abilities.
01:42Spidey also knows when danger is near with his sixth sense, or Peter Tingle.
01:47He really needs to rebrand that.
01:49While his innate strength and equipment do make Spider-Man one of the more physically
01:52strong MCU heroes, other characters' abilities do eclipse his.
01:56Then again, great power isn't everything.
01:59He did manage the best Doctor Strange with math.
02:01Hey, Strange!
02:03You know what's cooler than magic?
02:09Math!
02:10Number 18 – Cassandra Nova – Deadpool and Wolverine
02:14You're one of Xavier's.
02:16You know him?
02:16You know Chuck?
02:17Oh, I knew him.
02:19We shared a womb.
02:20Tried to strangle the sly little fellow with my umbilical cord.
02:24Hey man, I've never loved roommates.
02:26Professor Charles Xavier is among the multiverse's most powerful mutants,
02:30and his sister's strength rivals the Omega-level psychics.
02:34Cassandra is telekinetic, telepathic, and can phase through solid matter.
02:38She rules over the void with an army of survivors,
02:40feeding adversaries to the monstrous Elioth.
02:43Although she has to physically touch someone's brain to look into it,
02:46that only makes Cassandra a creepier villain.
02:49The sight of her fingers under people's skin is so dang unnerving.
02:53I'm going to use a little time with her.
02:56And I'm going to destroy this universe, and the next, and the next, and the next,
03:01until all that's left is the fort. And I get to play God.
03:07Cassandra also nearly destroys every timeline when she accesses the Time Ripper.
03:11However, even she is no match for the power of Madonna.
03:15Number 17 – Captain America
03:18Various Steve Rogers may begin his time in the MCU as a skinny kid from Brooklyn,
03:23but he quickly becomes one of Earth's mightiest heroes.
03:26How do you feel?
03:27I'm taller.
03:31The original Super Soldier, Cap is granted incredible strength, durability,
03:35and peak human speed from a serum. While his strength isn't quite as inhuman as other characters,
03:40he visibly struggles with more difficult feats. Roger still packs a wallop. Additionally,
03:45because of his heroic spirit, Cap is able to wield Thor's hammer, Mjolnir,
03:49granting him all the power of the God of Thunder, lightning generation, some limited flight, and so on.
04:05If we were ranking based on strength of character, Captain America could easily come out on top.
04:10As it is, he's just pretty good.
04:12Number 16 – Valkyrie
04:14Various The last surviving member of the elite female warriors who share her name,
04:19Valkyrie is among the strongest Asgardian warriors.
04:22I only survived because…
04:26Look, I already faced her once back when I believed in the throne,
04:29and it cost me everything.
04:30Her strength and skill in battle are such that she can stand toe-to-toe with some of Asgard's
04:35toughest fighters, including basically the entire royal family. While Val usually favors traditional
04:41weapons like swords, daggers, and spears, she has also wielded supernatural items, such as Zeus'
04:47Thunderbolt, which has many of the powers of Mjolnir. And ultimately, you've got to respect
04:52anyone who can play fight with the Hulk without fear of death.
04:55Number 15 – Black Panther
04:57Various There have been many to hold the moniker
04:59Black Panther, but for our purposes, we'll be discussing King T'Challa.
05:03The Wakandan monarch, like others to bear the Black Panther title, had incredible abilities
05:10granted by consuming a special herb. His physical abilities were comparable to Captain America's,
05:15with his strength, agility, and stamina all being more than human.
05:18On top of his skill in combat, T'Challa also had his vibranium suit, which upped his already
05:24impressive durability and allowed him to redirect any impacts he took while wearing it via energy blast.
05:29T'Challa may have died too soon, but his loss was not due to lack of strength.
05:42Number 14 – Ancient One Various There are many magic users in the MCU,
05:47but the Ancient One was one of the most accomplished.
05:49What just happened?
05:50For a moment, you entered the astral dimension.
05:53What?
05:54A place where the soul exists apart from the body.
05:57Why are you doing this to me?
05:59To show you just how much you don't know.
06:01Along with the usual portal creation and magical constructions used by most sorcerers,
06:06the Ancient One had access to some powerful and supposedly forbidden abilities.
06:10By tapping into the dark dimension, she was effectively immortal, having lived for hundreds of years.
06:16Her mastery of the Time Stone also let her manipulate time and even foresee the future.
06:21I'm looking for Doctor Strange.
06:22You're about five years too early.
06:27Stephen Strange is currently performing surgery about 20 blocks that way.
06:33What do you want from him?
06:34That, actually.
06:36While the Ancient One ultimately met an ending she saw coming,
06:40her strength in the mystic arts had few equals.
06:43Number 13 – Vision Various A synthetic life form in the love of Wanda Maximoff's life,
06:48Vision was among the strongest heroes on Earth, and not just because he was an Avenger.
06:53You think I'm a child of Ultron?
06:55You're not?
06:58I'm not Ultron.
07:00I'm not Jarvis, I remember.
07:02Given that he was made of vibranium, Vision was absurdly durable and strong.
07:06One of the Infinity Stones being embedded in his head also granted him various abilities,
07:11some of which may have included his powers of flight, intangibility, and energy beams.
07:15And while it's more a matter of character, being able to wield Thor's hammer certainly
07:20didn't hurt either.
07:21The original Vision may be gone, but his Alabaster successor will have a lot to prove
07:26to measure up to his predecessor.
07:28Certainly you are the true Vision for you believe yourself to be.
07:32That was once the case.
07:35But upon meeting you, I have been disabused of that notion.
07:38Number 12 – Hulk Various
07:41If you know anything at all about Dr. Bruce Banner and or his Green Altar Eagle,
07:45you know that he's incredibly strong.
07:48That's my secret, Captain.
07:52I'm always angry.
08:00The Hulk is an almost unstoppable force of pure power.
08:04He can tangle with some of the MCU's strongest fighters, huge monsters, and supervillains alike.
08:10Concrete and steel are like butter in his hands.
08:12The dude loves to smash, and he smashes well.
08:16However, it's not just the Hulk's physical strength that's impressive.
08:19The guy manages to use the Infinity Gauntlet to revive trillions of people,
08:24and the only backlash is the equivalent of a broken arm.
08:27The Hulk is mighty indeed.
08:37Number 11 – Erishim the Judge
08:39Eternals
08:40As one of the Celestials, Erishim is among the oldest and most powerful beings in the MCU.
08:45Not only is he absolutely massive in size, he can also survive the vacuum of space.
08:51Plus, there's the whole creating stars, planet, and intelligent life thing he's got going on.
08:57An infinite cycle of creation and destruction.
09:01Celestials use energy gathered from host planets to create suns,
09:08generating gravity, heat, and light for new galaxies to form.
09:13Erishim is borderline invincible, though he isn't entirely all-knowing or all-powerful.
09:19His detached perspective leaves him unable to predict or understand lower lifeforms that well.
09:23And it's that same perspective that makes him a villain in the first place.
09:27His view of the circle of life is at such a macro scale,
09:30that he doesn't consider the lives of people in the short term as important.
09:34I will spare him, but your memories will show if they are worthy to live.
09:42And I will return for judgment.
09:4610. Uatu, aka The Watcher, What If?
09:49There's a power in watching before doing, and Uatu, better known as The Watcher,
09:54has plenty of experience at both.
09:55If I could fix this, if I could punish you instead, I would.
09:59But I can't interfere. You more than anyone else should understand that meddling with time
10:04and events only leads to more destruction.
10:07A cosmic being of incomprehensible power, he has sworn to merely observe the multiverse from
10:13the outside of it. However, when he does get involved in things, the strength he displays
10:18eclipses almost everyone else. He can travel through time, observe all possible timelines,
10:23and generate force fields and powerful energy. Perhaps his greatest displays of strength come
10:27when he fights members of his own race, as well as an infinity stone powered Ultron across multiple
10:33realities. At least The Watcher is humble about his power. He's already big-headed enough.
10:449. Ego, The Living Planet, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
10:48This Celestial is not just the size of a planet, he is one. The huge being is able to manipulate
10:54matter and energy on both a large and small scale. He can be delicate enough to control the minds of
11:13others, make avatars whose durability and strength are superhuman, and reshape his form as he pleases.
11:19Furthermore, his master plan involves him ceding various worlds to expand his consciousness to
11:24effectively take over the entire galaxy. But Ego's biggest mistake proves to be killing his son,
11:30Peter's mother, and squishing his Walkman. 8. Infinity Ultron
11:38What if? This version of the genocidal AI from Avengers Age of Ultron does manage to kill his
11:44version of the Avengers and turn his world into a wasteland. At last, peace. But the Age of Ultron
11:52was only beginning. But Infinity Ultron doesn't stop there. After he encounters Thanos, the killer
11:57robot proceeds to dispose of the Mad Titan, take the infinity stones, and bring peace to the rest of his
12:03universe. When he becomes aware of the multiverse, he decides to do the same to every version of
12:19reality. And given the fact that he's able to handily defeat foes like the Watcher, he has a
12:24decent shot at it. Still, even he can account for everything. 7. Captain Marvel
12:32Carol Danvers is among the strongest human beings in the MCU. After exposure to one of the infinity
12:40stones, she obtains phenomenal cosmic abilities. She can fly, generate energy blasts, and even survive
12:46the vacuum of space. And that's on top of superhuman strength and durability. Captain Marvel is strong
12:52enough to destroy an entire fleet of warships by herself. Perhaps her greatest feat is going up
12:57against foes like Thanos or an alternate version of Ultron who possessed all the infinity stones.
13:02Listen Skynet, I've seen the killer robot movie and I gotta say, I really don't think it needs a sequel.
13:08Although she can't defeat either of them, that she lasts as long as she does against them is a
13:14testament to her marvelous power. 6. Dormammu, Doctor Strange
13:19Dormammu, I've come to bargain. You've come to die. Your world is now my world.
13:29Extra dimensional beings are pretty common in the MCU, but Dormammu dwarfs them all in power and
13:35scope. The ruler of the Dark Dimension, Dormammu wields mystic power on a universal scale,
13:39conquering realities and worlds. His control of his own dimension is so great that he can
13:45essentially reshape it at will. The shadowy being can influence others outside his dimension
13:49by granting his followers pieces of his power. Ultimately though, Dormammu can be trapped,
13:54though it takes a rare spell and sorcerer to achieve it. Anyone else is likely to get more
14:00than they bargained for. 5. Thor, Various
14:14The prince and one-time king of Asgard isn't just one of the strongest Avengers, he's one of the
14:19strongest Marvel characters, period. He's got the average Asgardian longevity, endurance,
14:32and superhuman strength, sure. But Thor's anything but average. His famous hammer and axe help him
14:37focus his powerful lightning abilities and fly. Thor can also grant his powers to others. He's gone up
14:43against opponents like the Hulk and Thanos and arguably beaten them. Thor once took the full concentrated
14:48power of a star while holding opening a massive forge with arm strength alone.
15:03The God of Thunder is an absolute unit. 4. Strange Supreme
15:08What if? Dr. Stephen Strange is already monstrously powerful as the Sorcerer Supreme.
15:13But this version of him pursues knowledge and strength all in the aim of resurrecting the
15:23love of his life. Strange Supreme obtains and or fuses with many beings of unfathomable power
15:29and even inadvertently destroys his own universe. And when pitted against a foe like Infinity Ultron,
15:34Strange Supreme pulls off ludicrous feats of strength, like containing a galaxy-sized explosion and eating it.
15:40We were never meant to win. We were here to separate the stones from the body.
15:54He even makes a hobby of collecting universe-killing threats and displaying them like action figures.
15:59Strange Supreme ultimately ends up using his own body to create a new universe in place of his old one,
16:04effectively becoming a god not even the Watchers can overcome.
16:083. Wanda Maximoff
16:10I have children of my own. I understand your pain.
16:15Is their mother still alive?
16:17Yes. Good. There will be someone left to raise them.
16:24Wanda has been many places on the hero-to-villain scale throughout her time in the MCU. The Scarlet
16:29Witch has access to a vast array of magical abilities, from levitation to teleportation and telekinesis.
16:35She can also alter reality to suit her whims over the distance of several miles. Wanda can also dream
16:41walk into other versions of herself in other universes, giving her influence over the multiverse.
16:46Her magic is strong enough for her to overwhelm foes like Thanos and easily murder her way through
16:52the Illuminati of Earth 838. Even when Wanda claims to be reasonable. Her power is utterly terrifying.
16:59You have exhausted my patience. But I do hope you understand that even now,
17:07what's about to happen? This is me being reasonable.
17:152. Thanos Various
17:17You had to see this coming, right? The Mad Titan conquered many planets with his legions of followers.
17:22Ron has located the Power Stone and I'm dispatching you to his ship.
17:25He won't like that.
17:27His alternative is dead.
17:29Simply in his base form, Thanos can take on many of Earth's mightiest heroes with nothing but his
17:34fists and his sword. But when the purple people killer starts collecting infinity stones, he obtains
17:39powers like reality warping, portal creation, energy blast, moon throwing, and a whole host of abilities
17:45too numerous to mention. And of course, his most infamous act involved turning half of all life in
17:51the universe to dust with a snap. Thanos isn't just one of the MCU's best villains, he's also its strongest.
17:58A grateful universe.
18:00Born out of blood.
18:02They'll never know it. Because you won't be alive to tell them.

18:211. Loki Various. We can hear your disbelief. Loki? Surely you'd pick his sister Ella before Loki?
18:32It's not impossible.
18:36Darling, you have no idea what's possible.
18:39But hold on, let us cook. The god of mischief himself, Loki's most prominent abilities involve
18:45illusions he creates with magic.
18:47Kneel before me.
18:51I said...
18:56Kneel!
18:58His Frost Giant physiology also makes Loki stronger and faster than most humans. Although he does lose
19:04to stronger characters like his brother Thor or the Hulk, he can go toe-to-toe with superhumans like
19:09Steve Rogers. However, it's the abilities his variant acquires in the show that shares his name that make
19:15Loki the most powerful character in the MCU. By the show's end, Loki can stop time and travel through
19:21it at will. He's also single-handedly holding the multiverse together. If that's not strong,
19:32what is? Is there a supremely powerful MCU character we forgot? We'll gladly swallow your picks in the
19:38comments down below. And don't forget to like and subscribe for more WatchMojo videos.
