00:16and supply chain resilience. At the summit, ASEAN can also push for a stronger support for its
00:24small and medium enterprises, sustainable infrastructure, as well as green finance.
00:31More importantly, ASEAN should strengthen regional initiatives like the ASEAN Digital
00:39Economic Framework and make clear commitments to open and rules-based trade. This position,
00:47ASEAN as a constructive partner in the U.S.-Indo-Pacific strategy while safeguarding
00:54the region's economic autonomy.
00:56Right. Now, beyond Malaysia's talk and also, you know, at the ASEAN level, there's also
01:02the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Spring Meetings taking place. So, what's your
01:08take on the general tone and global economic mood from Washington?
01:14The overall tone from Washington is cautious optimism. Policymakers and economists are concerned
01:23about persistent global risks such as inflation, high interest rates, slowing growth in China and
01:31Europe, and rising debt in developing countries. But there is also a strong push for an economic
01:38resilience, green transition, and inclusive growth. The message to emerging economies like Malaysia is to
01:45stay on a path of fiscal discipline while investing in sectors that future-proof their economies like
01:53digital, clean energy, and innovation. There is also a growing emphasis on multilateral cooperation to
02:03tackle global challenges, including climate change and supply chain vulnerabilities. Countries that can
02:09demonstrate sound governance, open, and long-term vision are more likely to attract support and
02:16investment from global financial institutions.
02:19Right. I mean, you mentioned fiscal discipline just now for Malaysia and also, you know, many avenues for
02:27Malaysia to explore when it comes to, you know, stuff that is going on right now with regards to the trade tensions. And there's plenty to look forward to. This issue is still developing. So, thank you for the
