00:00Cardiff City are still embroiled in a championship relegation battle.
00:07It has been a poor season for the Bluebirds all around, and the recent sacking of Omariza
00:12with only a couple of games left in the season has placed a huge doubt over the club's future.
00:18They have placed Aaron Ramsey in interim charge until the end of the season with only two games left
00:23in what is perhaps a strange decision given that the weight of responsibility that currently lies
00:29upon his shoulders to try and get Cardiff out of this mess.
00:33It perhaps seems unlikely given his lack of managerial experience that he will be able to deliver,
00:38but his love and know-how of the club could just be what Cardiff needs.
00:42But is it perhaps unfair because of his lack of experience that he has been put in such a challenging position
00:49at this stage of the season?
00:51Well, let's go now to Charles Hague-Jones, one of our Cardiff City experts,
00:56who's going to give his thoughts on the matter and how Cardiff could end the season under Aaron Ramsey
01:02and whether his experience and perhaps just his know-how of the club will be enough
01:08to get them out of this relegation mess or whether it is just too little, too late for both Ramsey and Cardiff
01:14from meeting their fate and going down to League One and probably having to start a complete and utter rebuild
01:20in England's third tier.
01:22So, Charles, what do you think of Aaron Ramsey's appointment as interim head coach
01:26and will it be enough or will Cardiff be facing the drop this season?
01:30Yeah, obviously it's a difficult situation for Aaron Ramsey to come straight into.
01:38Let's just talk about a few things to maybe even it out and make it look a bit better for Cardiff City
01:46with these huge two games to go.
01:48Firstly, his tactical philosophy.
01:50I mean, it's obviously going to unfold.
01:52It's going to be, you know, determined, disciplined, structured.
01:56You know, his previous roles suggest that, you know, really he has a preference towards being disciplined
02:02and having a great shape about his team as well.
02:06You know, given Cardiff's current position, it's likely he'll focus on tightening the defence.
02:11I mean, that's been a major issue this season, all season for the Bluebirds.
02:15I think, you know, he's in a position now that, you know, tactics do sort of tend to go out the window a little bit.
02:22It's just fight for those results and hope that results around you go well as well.
02:27And, you know, we mentioned a few times in the build up to this, you know, the last month or so,
02:31that no team wants to be in a position where they are relying on other teams, you know, their failure in terms of their success.
02:39And Cardiff City are now in that position.
02:42They are in a terrible position in the league and it's all sort of fallen so quickly as well.
02:47You know, I mean, the downfall of Cardiff this season has been slowly unraveling.
02:52Maybe over the last month or so, the results have just been nowhere near for Cardiff City.
02:57And that's Omariza, that's Errol Buller.
02:59Now that stems back a very long time for Cardiff City.
03:02So there is some deep rooted problems.
03:04You know, leadership changes.
03:06Ramsey, you know, club legend, really, a former Wales captain.
03:10He brings a wealth of experience and leadership.
03:13He's, you know, played at the highest level.
03:15Arsenal, Juventus.
03:17You know, this appointment will just aim to instill confidence and a sense of urgency in the squad as they face, you know,
03:25this critical period in the season.
03:28Players in the dressing room are going to realise how important he is to Cardiff City's fans.
03:32Obviously, coming back to his boyhood club is a massive move for him.
03:36You know, that sort of says it all, really.
03:38I mean, how much do you want to impress Aaron Ramsey?
03:42How much do you really want to fight for the club?
03:44And, you know, Mr. Cardiff City really now, obviously, come through as a youth player.
03:48He's returned to his home club.
03:51Unbelievable story for him.
03:52It's sort of a full circle to now be manager as well.
03:55It's unbelievable.
03:56So hopefully a player reaction comes from it.
04:00You know, could do a great job managerially in the future.
04:03He's got that potential.
04:05Where they go is another mystery.
04:07You know, Cardiff City, no matter what division they're going to be in next year,
04:11they go into another summer window with the fans thinking what's going on at the club.
04:16You know, where do we stand?
04:17The communication's still low.
04:19You know, we've seen it with protests.
04:21We've seen it with open letters from fan groups.
04:24So, yeah, it's going to be tough.
04:27And Cardiff City really need to stick by, you know,
04:31that the fans need to stick by the team, the club, and hope that they get out of this alive.
04:36And if they don't, then, you know, hope that a League One refreshes on the cards like it has been for the likes of Birmingham City.
04:43in Birmingham City.
